Need instructions for deleting unwanted (or rather unused) video completely from FCPX library? Â
I have always been a bit timid about deleting the unused portions of my clips.Â
Just updated to 10.1.3 from 10.1.2 and video files import without audio into library. Audio shows and plays in media import window. Everything from before update is fine.

I store all my libraries on an external hard drive and today my dad unplugged it without ejecting it. When I went to reopen it it said it was corrupted and will no longer open in final cut. in fact, it just crashes final cut. I have a video editing business and have hours worth of work in the library.

can someone tell me an easy way to get rid of Final Cut Pro 5.1 on my Computer. I install it yesturday but the files was huge and I'm not planning to use it yet. There is no uninstaller, and I got all this QMaster and LiveType install witht eh FInal Cut Pro as well. So yeah it's quite a mess now. I'm deleting 1 one 1 searching through folder but I don't think I get rid of everything. Wish there is a uninstaller for this.

Attempted to create a shared folder today and almost had it working. After a discussion on here, discovered I can share libraries by using fast user switching.
Now when I load my Itunes, every song is blocked out "Unable to locate original file" when clicked on. I have tried Time Machine to no avail.
A week ago I had to format my HD and reinstall Leopard last week. When I restored from my external HD afterward, I just clicked and dragged back the files and folders that I wanted instead of completely restoring the drive. I put Garageband back in my Apps folder. It didn't work when I opened it (something about an instrument library being invalid, what ever.). So I reinstalled iLife 09 from the disc, and now Garageband opens properly.
The problem is that there are no (0) instruments in the library now, nor any loops. I know that normally there's an update available from Software Update that's about 1.1gb and includes all of the instruments and loops, but that update isn't appearing in the list. Anyone know what I can do? If someone can point me to a download/Rapidshare/torrent/Anything of that update, or even a functional instrument library?
I installed the 30 trial of adobe and now I want to delete them. Is it as simple as moving them to the trash can? Will that complete rid my system of their files? Or do you do it another way?

My imac g5 osx 10.5.8 is running slow and getting froze alot some programs just take forever. If someone knows how to remove programs safely could you please help me. Someone at work recorded a screen capture video. Within the frame, there's good material but a lot of garbage around the edges that I don't want (what Sally Hogshead would call "screen crapture"). The good stuff lasts the entire duration of the clip, is not perfectly centered, and does not move at all in its placement or change size throughout the clip.Â
If I crop or trim, I can eliminate the garbage, either making it transparent or black (there's no other clip beneath it to show through) easily enough. Is there a way to then export just the desired portion of the video frame (the non-cropped good stuff) as its own video at a smaller frame size?Â

Automatically delete files that has been sent to trash for a certain period of time.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIt seems whenever I launch a youtube video, there is a tremendous lag that occurs for a good 30 seconds before my video is able to be seen. It completely locks up my browser and freezes. Thought it was my iMac at first, buy Firefox works fine. I reset everything on Safari and still nothing.

how I can disable one of my video cards in my MacBook pro. The better of the two recently crapped out, or at least if am able to get it to turn on and can login to switch to the other video card it works fine.
Basically the screen glitches up and freezes the computer. I think it could have potentially taken damage from possible prolonged over heating from high temperature spaces, and a lot of dirty air over time blocking the vents. (after multiple cleanings)

Im new. I bought a new iMAC 27". Im wery satisfyed with it, but one problem has emerged.Suddenly over night it wont play any online videos. On youtube the videoscreen is completely black and doesnt start. Not any of the other videoservices either.Internal videos like tutorials works fine, but not the online ones.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI inadvertently changed the Library name of an FCP X file in the Finder Window and now FCP X won't open. I immediately changed it back to the original name, and FCP X still won't open. The FCP X logo comes up, and then the app seems to freeze and not open.Â

I am unable to open a FCPX library (containing at least 10 projects and events). Final Cut attempts to load the events and projects in the library but after about 5 minutes the program shuts down and I get an Apple message giving me the option to report the problem.Â
All other libraries appear to work fine. I am guessing that the last project created within the affected library is corrupt. i have tried removing the render files in that last p and I have copied the library to another drive and neither worked.Â

When I click the little triangle next to the event in the library, it spins downward and no video files show. It's my second project for a new company and on a brand new computer with a new install of final cut pro X and glitches are already starting to show.Â

I have one library that I am unable to open. It worked fine yesterday but now it just hangs with a message 'Loading "XYZ" event'. Even its backups in the Movies folder won't open. All the other libraries I've tried to open do so without any problem, so it seems the trouble is restricted to this one library and its backups.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a strange thing happening when I attempt to update a Final Cut Project and Event from FCPX 10.9. I'm choosing to update manually. When I tell FCPX to go ahead and update, everything looks like it is happening as planned - except that inside of Final Cut the Project files are no where to be found. I know Final Cut is supposed to put them into an Event created especially for the old Projects. But when I look for it there are no project files. When I look at what actually took place at the finder level I find that all the Events have been moved just fine but the old Project Folder is left alone and still intact.
