In the windows version of Powerpoint, you can make motion paths, as well as make objects move around. I can't figure out how to do this on Powerpoint for Mac
View 3 RepliesI'm sure most people suffer from this but here goes.
So I make a presentation on Mac Office powerpoint, everything is fine. I open it up at university on the PC, all is fine. I maybe change some text on a slide and save it again. Open the same file again on my Mac, and it won't open some silly error comes up saying trouble accessing file from mac HD.
Then luckily I have keynote, so I just open it in that and use that.
Point is why does this happen?? Whilst keynote is better, sometimes I have to edit things on a PC at work or uni and then it becomes a giant mess on my mac.
Is there a quick fix, or will I have to throw Mac Office into my growing pile of Microsoft related garbage.
I am using PowerPoint 2008 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. I am printing out 6 slides per page, however, there is no option to make these 6 slides bigger. There is a lot of "free" unused space. The slides would look better if I could use this free space. If I were on a Windows machine, there is a utility called pdf995 that will take advantage of this "free" space.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife is in school and receives her lectures via powerpoint slides (.ppt). I think they are generated with a pre-2007 PC version of powerpoint. She cannot open this .ppt file with Office 2008 on leopard. Powerpoint there just says that the file was created with an older version of powerpoint and is no longer supported. Is it possible that Powerpoint no longer supports its own format?! Does anyone else have this problem? Are there ways around this? Does it seem ridiculous that we can't even open an older version of the file in a new program? I know there are programs to convert new files for older software versions, but not converting old files for newer software versions!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'd like to start a presentation, insert a text box, set the font to 12 points and now "save this as my default" for all other text boxes that I create in this presentation. In older versions there was a checkbox for a lot of things - if you changed the line style you could check "save this as my new default" etc. Is this functionality gone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs some of you may already know, I recently switched to the mac platform. One of my main reasons for switching was the fact that I couldn't see more than 50 percent of the graphics used by my colleagues and mentors in case presentations due to the dreaded "quicktime tiff decompressor" issues present in Windows. After numerous efforts of trying to resolve this issue on the Mac end, I gave up and ended up getting a Mac, to hopefully not experience the same issue. Obviously, I have realized that the mac has a lot more to offer, in the process.
However, here is my problem - I am getting the following error "Quicktime or a TIFF decompressor is needed to view this image" in Powerpoint 2008 in Mac OS X. I didn't expect this at all, and I was hoping that there may be a fix to it. I tried copying and pasting the image into word and that doesn't resolve the problem either. I tried opening up the presentation in Keynote 2009 but that doesn't seem to load these graphics either. Is there any photo application that I can use to test the picture? If any of you know how to resolve this issue, I will be very grateful for your advice. Again, I am new to the Mac OS platform so I would appreciate if your solutions included "baby steps"

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-Zs7, & I am reading about it's video formats. It shoots AVCHD lite movies and motion jpg movies. I would like to be able to burn these raw movie files unedited to blank DVDs, so my family can view them right away, in the excitement of filming, they are eager to see the results. They do not like to wait for me to do the complex & tedious process of video editing with titles etc, to play. Being able to just burn the raw files for immediate viewing relives me of the burden of complex video editing, of which I do not enjoy very much, & makes family happy, to get the video out of the camera to the DVD player & TV. We have a Philips DVD player that says it can play Divx movies, & an analog tube TV.
So is there a quick painless way that I can get the raw files out of the camera and onto DVD for viewing on a TV. Or is the raw material only viewable on the camera & computer?If the only way to get this material to DVD is by complex video editing, I could be stuck editing literally hours of footage that my family likes to film, they have the film bug, & like to film everything.
I just enabled filevault for my macbook pro, I was worried about it while on campus and traveling and wanted an added layer of security. Now my powerpoints won't work, they won't even load, this only happened since enabling powerpoint yesterday. Is there anything I can do to make it work or do I need to disable filevault?

For some reason when I use finder, I see all related files, but it doesn't have a "pop up" where the path to that file is. I have gone into spotlight preferences and can't seem to find a button or setting that allows me to see paths.

Quite a while back, I had a real problem after installing some software from source that changed a lot of environment variables and stuff. Undoubtably, trying to rectify the situation without enough knowledge just exacerbated the problem.
Anyway, I still have a lot of frustrating problems when working in command line. For example, I just got an error telling me gcc isn't installed. Well that's unlikely, considering how much compiling I tend to do outside command line! However, whereis gcc does nothing.
Basically, I want to just reset all the problems I have caused and just set my paths back to default. I mean everything. Problem is, I dunno what they should be, and I don't know where to start. I know I have to sort my .profile, but even that is a bit taxing.
Which files should I be changing, and what changes should I make
I'm running Aperture 3.4.5 on a MacPro mid 2010. I import by reference into the appropriate project. The project's file directory is the same as the name of the project. I.E., screen shots from the Next Issue application are kept in a project called "Next Issue". The project keeps it's photos in a directory called "Next Issue".
As needs change files may be moved from one project to another. This causes a major problem as the files remain in their original location, i.e. are not moved to the directory associated with their new project. For example, the Next Issue screen shots show up in Photostream. I move the photos to the "Next Issue" project, but the original file still stays in the photo stream folder on disk.
The reason this matters is the disk with the pictures is duplicated and then connected to an Oppo media center. I find files I need on the Oppo by going to the directory associated with the files, i.e. "Next Issue". Since those files originally were in a photo stream directory they still reside there. So unless I can remember thousands of file locations it can't be found on the Oppo, which doesn't have a search function for an externally attached drive.
I suppose that I could go to each directory, select everything, and do a relocate master. But after a long night of organizing if I don't remember which projects where changed then that means relocating up to 100 directories and 70,000 files ….

I am using the first version of Motion. I have some footage I shot and converted to a .mov file. I know Motion 3 does speed up footage but my version does not. Anyone out there know how to speed up footage using a low cost or free solution? This is the last thing i need to do to finish this project.I do not own final cut or quicktime pro. View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed the motion 3 dvd from the final cut studio 2 but i can't locate it anywhere in the applications or elsewhere. can't find in with search. when i go through final cut pro it also isn't available in send to menu, while color is.
I'm not sure if i'm missing something here. the installation went fine with a reboot. I tried re installing which also seemed like it happened without any problems but no traces of motion.
i have no clue where it is, unless it changed it's name and is hiding somwhere.
Long story short, I've been trying to move my entire iTunes from a NAS to my Mac and it's got messy and I'm left with a situation whereby all the songs are safe on the Mac in the correct folders, e.g. Bruce Springsteen songs in the correct album folder in the Bruce Springsteen parent folder, HOWEVER, when I try to play certain songs (not all) on iTunes it skips over the track and doesn't even highlight it with an "!". When I check the file path it will show iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Madonna (for Bruce Springsteen).
So, my question is, how can I now re-associate the songs paths in iTunes app with the correct folders? Is there a script or can I somehow reimport the songs? I'm not worried about losing ratings, last played, play count, etc. but I wouldn't want to lose my playlists.

I'm trying to make a stop motion film where something floats around, so I went to Gimp and did the steps to erase the rig and I saw it was in iPhoto and it showed the floating thing on the thumbnail, but when I double clicked it to enlarge it, the floating thing just disappeared and I was left with just a background and no floating thing.
