I recently bought a macbook and transferred by Iweb file for my webistes to it from my imac - I had to change some of the fonts etc to fit with the format. I am having few problem: 1. can seem to get iweb on the imac to recognise it oping only in macbook application via network even though I have binned the origional domains2. once uploaded to my ftp the format looks all ou (even though it doesn't on the screen prior to uploading)I alomst feel I will have to update the whole old file even though i've spent ages doing it on the mac book
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created my website in iWeb '08 about a year ago and it's finally time to update it, but I'm running into a few problems.First, I'm using a new computer now, although I transferred all of the files from one HD to the other. When I go to open iWeb on my MacBook, I can't access my old site. I never worked on my site from my new computer, but I have all the files. I have the actual files (such as .jpgs and mp3s) in an organized folder. The website itself and all the information is in the folder that I upload via FTP to my server. How do I get to open all of those in iWeb so that I can edit the site?

Its succesfully uploaded but the problem is thisIf my web address was say www.macs4u.co.uk the website. When i type that in now it goes to www.macs4u.co.uk/www.macs4u.co.uk/welcome.html and shows that site i just uploadedWhy cant i just have it uploaded to my server so when i type in www.macs4u.co.uk it stays as that and show the website??

My previous site I successfully was able to forward in the past was made on freewebs.com.On my MobileMe account I put the name of the domain I wanted transferred and clicked "done".On my GoDaddy account I put "web.me.com" under one of the CNAMES as instructed by Apple's website, but still isn't working.

With Safari everything seems to be fine - type in the domain with or without the 'www' and you arrive at the right place. But with every other browser I've tried (Chrome, Firefox, Flock and Camino) only [URL] version works. Enter the url without the www and you end up at [URL] could someone let me know what I've done wrong? I've tried clearing the cache in all the browsers but that's had no effect.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy personal domain is [URL]- it was bought through Easily [URL] and is still managed by them. I transferred the hosting to MobileMe, however, by creating the relevant CNAME entry, so in my DNS management area for this domain over at Easily the entries look as follows [URL] There are two name servers set up : [URL] The personal domain is set up in MobileMe fine, and I can create sites in iWeb and upload them with no issues. My second domain is [URL] which I bought through Easily, and which is simply set to use framed web forwarding to redirect to [URL] - that's one of the sites that I've created in iWeb and is hosted by MobileMe. When I visit [URL]I get no issues whatsoever - the masked forwarding works fine, so the address bar always reads [URL] no matter which page I'm on. However I've been told by a couple of people that they don't get transferred to it - instead they get not a MobileMe error page, but an Easily error page. it's as though the web forwarding works for some visitors but not for others, but I'm not sure why. Anyone got any thoughts? Is it happening for anyone else?

just got a new Mac Pro and I need to transfer my iWeb site over, but am having absolutely no luck doing so. The older iWeb site was created on iWeb 2.0 and is uploaded to my MobileMe account and everything.
I wrote an email to the tech people on my domain service provider, Network Solutions, because I've yet to see my website load properly. I was directed to use web forwarding, and I set that up over the weekend. However, though I am hosted through MobileMe, my personal domain link takes me to a blank page. There had been an under construction page. if I am using web forwarding, should I remove the personal domain from my Mobile Me preferences? Could that be the reason it won't work?

I have searched the online and tried several options. I tried publishing it to a folder on my iBook, copied it to the iMac but can't find a way to import it into my iWeb on my iMac.
I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?

Many months passed and I wasn't doing anything with that particular site any longer, so I nuked the pages within iWeb and have since worked on new projects.Now I need to do some work on that old site again.I have all of the created content in a folder that had been stored on my server, but I have nary a clue how to get it all back into iWeb again.

I just installed Lion 10.7.4 named my computer "fx6800". Then I joined my Windows 2003 Server domain with no problems. After that I could not log on to domain with one of my windows 7 machines because it had the same computer ID. Ok no problem I re joined the domain and re binded with the Win 7 machine and then un binded my Mac Lion machine then re-binded with a different computer ID. No problem both machines can log on to AD with separate computer accounts. Then I notice when I opened terminal it was showing the old computer ID. No problem I fixed it With sudo scutil --set HostName "new host name".
Then when I go to select file sharing in the description to the right under File Sharing On: it shows the path to tha machine is fx6800.domainname.local which is the original computer ID. Also when I select remote login and I believe it shows username@fx6800.domainname.local. I have searched for 2 days and have not come up with anything. I am sure if I reinstall everything it should fix it but I would like to save the time.

I've created a site with a theme in iWeb 08 that has been removed from iWeb 09. I've put a lot of work into customizing the theme, and iLife 09 is currently being shipped to me. In iWeb 09, can I still maintain and build on this site even though the theme is not included anymore? And, if not, is there a way that I can find the theme data in Finder and copy and paste that into the theme data files in iWeb 09?

This is fine for the internet, but I'm constantly transferring large volumes of files between my laptop and iMac and it's unbearably slow. I can't connect to the router via ethernet because it's in the living room.
Can I connect my laptop and iMac up with an ethernet or USB cable for fast file transfer?
I upgraded my iMac to the new i5 and sold my 24" iMac. Before selling it, I backed everything up with Time Machine. I transferred everything to the i5 and I thought everything was working fine until I tried to open iWeb and it didn't work. If I move my domain file from the iWeb folder, iWeb opens fine and starts from scratch. When I check my website online it is still active as well. How can I get my original domain file to open within iWeb so all is not lost?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new 27" i7 iMac with OSX 10.6.4 and need to connect it to our work place network that runs a Windows 2003 Domain Controller etc. I've never touch an Apple/iMac before and I don't know much of anything about them. I'll tell you this much, I LIKE THIS MACHINE! WOW! I really like it! So I'm pretty sure I have it on the network... maybe. But the biggest problem I have is when I log on as the user (and it indicates "Network" under the user name), I can see the network resources, the user folder is available down on the Dock but when I make changes to the Desktop, Dock etc. they don't save when I log out and log back in. So I hope someone here can help point me in the right direction. I have done a lot of Google and other forum search but I'm not really finding my answer.
