I'm graduating college and I want to pass on an iWeb project I've maintained to a member of my group who will still be at school next year. What's the best way to do this? Is there one specific file I can give my friend that he can use in his version of iWeb?
I maintain three websites in iWeb on my MacBook.I want to transfer one of these sites to another Mac, as someone else will be maintaining it. How can I do this?
just got a new Mac Pro and I need to transfer my iWeb site over, but am having absolutely no luck doing so. The older iWeb site was created on iWeb 2.0 and is uploaded to my MobileMe account and everything.
I created my website in iWeb '08 about a year ago and it's finally time to update it, but I'm running into a few problems.First, I'm using a new computer now, although I transferred all of the files from one HD to the other. When I go to open iWeb on my MacBook, I can't access my old site. I never worked on my site from my new computer, but I have all the files. I have the actual files (such as .jpgs and mp3s) in an organized folder. The website itself and all the information is in the folder that I upload via FTP to my server. How do I get to open all of those in iWeb so that I can edit the site?
not sure how this works as my first post but:I have a site produced on my MBpro in iweb and i just bought an imac, transferred the 'domain' file from library into new library on imac and when I open iweb, it's not there
I'm having a nightmare. I recently bought a macbook and transferred by Iweb file for my webistes to it from my imac - I had to change some of the fonts etc to fit with the format. I am having few problem: 1. can seem to get iweb on the imac to recognise it oping only in macbook application via network even though I have binned the origional domains2. once uploaded to my ftp the format looks all ou (even though it doesn't on the screen prior to uploading)I alomst feel I will have to update the whole old file even though i've spent ages doing it on the mac book
Alright so I was making this video that was really really really difficult to do and I got to like 3:00 of it today and I've been saving, then it just freezes and refuses to do anything. I then realise my external drive somehow turned off for a random reason, so I plugged it back in and it started working again, but then I reopened my project and I get this error
I click on ignore all and it's all in the trash, and what really pisses me off about this is that it took me weeks and weeks and weeks of time to do, there's no way I can redo this all over again. What can I do to get rid of the skipped message and make it all work again
I have a complete iDVD project on my Power Mac G4. Burnt a DVD and not quite happy about the quality. Have a Mac Book Pro with Lion, would like to try to burn it from there.. What and how should I transfer over to have the whole project on the MacBookPro ready to burn ? It includes slideshows linked to iPhoto and a iMovie film.
I'm using Final Cut Pro X 10.1.3 and I can't find how to transfer my project. I want to do this because my laptop is slower than my Desktop iMac and I want to continue editing it on there. "Duplicate Project" no longer works the way it used to, and "Move Project" only moves it between libraries on the computer.
I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?
I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy iWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account
My old MB got attacked by some tea and died. So now i have a new unibody although the main thing that i have lost from my old MB is my iWeb pages.
I have mobile me, and have the site published to that. How can i download the site to my MB in iWeb format? Iv tried downloading them as HTML but iWeb can't open them.
Here's my situation:I created a site using iWeb '08. Many months passed and I wasn't doing anything with that particular site any longer, so I nuked the pages within iWeb and have since worked on new projects. Now I need to do some work on that old site again.I have all of the created content in a folder that had been stored on my server, but I have nary a clue how to get it all back into iWeb again.
I'm having the most difficult time transferring projects and events from a 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2011) to an iMac (late 2013) I have moved the projects and referenced events to an external "WD my Passport for Mac" Hard drive. It holds 1TB.
In Final Cut Pro X 10.1.1 on the new iMac, the device is not recognized. I tried updating Mavericks and Final Cut. I've tried repairing the permissions, repairing both disk(s) deleting render files, restarting the disk, disconnecting the hard drive, restarting the computer. etc to no avail.
I've created a site with a theme in iWeb 08 that has been removed from iWeb 09. I've put a lot of work into customizing the theme, and iLife 09 is currently being shipped to me. In iWeb 09, can I still maintain and build on this site even though the theme is not included anymore? And, if not, is there a way that I can find the theme data in Finder and copy and paste that into the theme data files in iWeb 09?
I'm sorry if this has already been posted. I looked for the answer on here and couldn't find it. I NEED HELP...BAD! I was making a mix and I was almost done, and iMovie '09 crashed on me. I see it in the iMovie projects folder, but when I click on it, it loads up iMovie, shows the clip for a second, then disappears. How can I get my mix back??
I've been working on avery complicated project all day with multiple layered clips with key frame animations, colour effects etc. All was fine until I opened a new project in the same event which I was going to use to create some effects sequences for the main project. When I went back to the original project it was empty. Tried the Undo function in case I had done anything stupid but it was greyed out. Went to the FCPX backups and the last file was almost 2 hours old but did not have any sign of this project. The only thing I have left is all the imported media.
Using FCPX 10.1.3. This is really annoying as all I have left is an h264 file of the almost complete project and it will be almost impossible to start from scratch.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9), Mid 2012 i7
I'm wondering if there is any good apps out there for managing an entire project, across multiple files, sort of a bulletin board, just a single file, that contains a sort of desktop for that entire project, you could drag things into it, files, pictures, notes of somekind, anyone know of anything like this?
I have a 2GB m4v file that I wanted to use iDVD to create a movie for. But even taking it off of Best Performance and instead using High Quality, the movie is too large to be burned. It's showing it as a 4.81 GB project.
I'll admit my ignorance here...what gives? How does a 2GB file grow that large when being encoded as a DVD?
I was using Entourage and loved the Project part of the software. For individual projects it keeps scheduled events, contacts, emails and files all associated together. However, my university's IT asked me to stop using Entourage due to some networking issue so I've started with iCal and Address Book and I'm looking for something to replace Entourage's Project.
I've looked at Bento, and Soho Notes, but they don't seem to have a scheduling side to them and I don't think one can just drop different sorts of files into the relevant project. Other pieces software I've heard of are Yojimbo, DevonThink, Soho Organizer and some Omni softwares, but I'm not sure if they will be any better and the learning curve on a couple of these makes this a hard endeavor on my own.
Is there a project managemente application that runs natively on Mac OS X? I'm thinking about something that supports Microsoft Project 2000 and the likes.
I'm somewhat surprised that Microsoft hasn't ported Project 2000 yet. Any one has heard any plans regarding this by Microsoft?
I just finished an iDVD project and saved it with the default file extension of .dvdproj.
I want to send this to someone with a Windows PC for them to view, but I do not want to burn it onto a disc because I need to send it overseas and it would take a considerably long time.
Is there any way I can convert the iDVD project to another file extension so I can email it to this person? Or, if I go back into the project is there a way to just save it under a more common file extension?
My wife's been working with Entourage for the past several months as she likes having all of her PIM data integrated in one place. In particular she likes the project view as this lets her see all of the relevant files, emails, notes, tasks and calendar appointments for a specific class (she's in grad school) in one place. Unfortunately she also wants to sync that information to her phone (a Nokia N82), and Entourage does not play nice with sync services. Every time we've tried setting up Entourage to sync with iCal so she can then sync with her phone we've run into a host of problems, including losing all of her calendar appointments and getting a massive number of duplicates.
As such I'm looking for an alternative to Entourage that duplicates the Project view features. The most important items for my wife are email, notes, files and calendar, she wants to be able to go to one place and look at all those items for individual classes. I've looked at Contactizer and Daylight, but both are a bit pricey, complicated and don't cover everything she wants, in particular they seem to lack the ability to look into the contents of a defined folder and track the files in there as Entourage can.
I'm going nutz and have read a bunch of other threads on this but most of it is way over my head. I just made a movie on iMovie and then moved it to iDVD. I am using iLife 08. The projects (the movie and dvd) were both widescreen. Everything was great! Looked great on the computer etc... But then I played the dvd on my widescreen TV and the top and bottom of the picture (including titles I had put on the bottom of the screen using the imovie templates) had been cut off. Not letter boxed but rather they seemed to not fit on the screen. I tried changing my tv settings but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know what might be up? I also tried to burn the dvd as a standard 4:3 project and the resulting DVD still had the top and bottom cut off. Is this an issue with my DVD/TV?
I work for a theatre company. We want a software package that enables us to manage our production process over distances/online: playwright in one place, director in another, designer somewhere else, etc. These are small project teams, so we don't need anything vast, but the package does need to be able to respond to different project structures and styles and feel intuitive.
I've looked at Things and Project X online, but can't seem to get a definitive view about about how easily (if at all) they enable people to collaborate online (that is not on a local network).
I have a friend who wants me to create a DVD using pictures from a project in iMovie 09. I am in region one. Can I change the region to four before I burn a DVD in iDVD 09? If so, I then want to change it back to region one.
