Applications :: Trying To Have Songs Checked But Not Play In Shuffle Mode?
May 1, 2010I have some children's music on my iPhone that I play for my toddler daughter in the car. But when I'm listening to music for my own personal enjoyment, I don't exactly want "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to come up. Is there a way to keep certain checked songs from playing when in shuffle mode? I mean, besides creating a new playlist with everything BUT the 20 or so songs I have for my daughter.

Apr 8, 2009Let's say I pick Song A manually, it finishes and moves on to Song B. 10 songs after Song B, if I manually select A, all those songs play in the exact same order. The only thing that changes the order is restarting iTunes.

Sep 26, 2010This has happened for a few months now, ever since I upgraded to iTunes 8 I believe, and now that I'm using iTunes more often it's starting to get annoying. I will play an album in iTunes. Once the album finishes, instead of stopping playback, iTunes will play an apparently random song from my library (though each album seems to be linked to a different song, which changes every now and then. I've been unable to find any pattern). Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have any ideas? I don't think this is just a problem for me - it happens to some friends who have iTunes as well. I've searched on Google and on this forum and couldn't find any solutions.

Jun 25, 2014Both my MacBook Pro and iPhone were set up to shuffle all songs, but in the past they seem to have played an awful lot of repeats without playing different music all the time! Now I just updated the software and re-synced and can't even set up shuffle on the phone any more. Clicking on the crossed and uncrossed arrows on each side of the phone doesn't do anything. Shaking just shuffles inside the album playing.

Feb 4, 2009So over the past few months I have noticed this small bug/glitch in iTunes... and it is very annoying.
I cannot drag songs from playlists into different order. iTunes just doesn't let me drag at all.
I have to quit iTunes, then restart it. It will work for one time, but as soon as I got back to "Library" and then try to go back and edit a playlist, I have to exit iTunes.
Any fix for this?

When I import a CD , the songs get scattered all over the Library. It did not used to be the case. Now if I want to make another copy of the disc, I need to make a new folder then drag all the songs from all over the place in ones and twos from the Library.
Why is this order of songs disturbed?
Is there a way to order the Library so that a CD remains in one place ?
I made copy of a CD but the last one turned up to be the first one! One CD, which I thought had been written was not written at all

May 11, 2012songs from Vinyl, into iTunes and keeping the song order on the Album.As it stands, when I rip Vinyl onto my computer, then import the songs into iTunes, they seem to be arbitrarily organized. I'm sure there is some logic to the way iTunes is organizing them, but it is not the order of the Album. There must be some way to organize or 'sort' these songs in order of the Album. I remember on the older versions of iTunes, there used to be a numbering section on the far left hand side of the songs. I can't see that anymore and even when I control-click the songs, the sorting options don't seem to do much for me.

Jul 1, 2014Just recently out of the blue I noticed that some of the songs in my library were not in the correct order as they appear on the album. I went under "Get Info" to make sure that the track listing was correct (i.e. Track 2 of 10) and everything was correct, yet it still showed up in the wrong order. I even re-typed everything hoping it would reset but it did not. It appears to be only on albums that I purchased through iTunes (and yes, each song was purchased at the same time).

Feb 13, 2010There's something that's been bugging me for ages, literally years:
I've got a whole lot of music, 45 days worth, and I view it by date added and want to keep it that way for a number of reasons.
Problem is, when I want to play an album I have to click on the first track, then switch to album (or artist) display by the end of that track.
The other day I added an album by dragging it into iTunes in the Finder. I noticed that I could start and stop and advance and rewind tracks and it would go in order, from first to last track, even in Date Added mode, so it was visually moving up and down instead of from top to bottom.
Is there secretly a way to view in Date Added but have the next track be the next track on that album? Besides dragging the tracks into iTunes from the Finder I mean.
If anyone has a way to do this, it would seriously improve my life and I would be infinitely grateful.

i've just got into using smart playlists, and love em. I've got one just containing the band name 'minus the bear', and it puts all the albums i have in album order and will shuffle through different tracks.
but now for some reason when i click shuffle it re arranges all the tracks in the playlist. i know its abit ocd, but i liked have all my tracks in order. then if i want a specific track on i can find it easily, and then just let it shuffle after that.
i don't know how i had it like that before, but does anyone know how to get it back how i want it?

Jun 23, 2012I have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. Jan 26, 2009In order to burn an album you can't simply click on the album cover and tell it to burn what's stored in the library... you have to make a playlist from it and burn that.
But it has a mind of it's own. You can't sort the list and burn it the way you want it to.
