When I burn a disk from my playlist the songs are out of order.

I am trying to copy some songs from my playlist to a CD but it changes the order of the songs during the conversion. I want the songs in alphabetical by name but iTunes arranges them alphabetically by artist.

So over the past few months I have noticed this small bug/glitch in iTunes... and it is very annoying.
I cannot drag songs from playlists into different order. iTunes just doesn't let me drag at all.
I have to quit iTunes, then restart it. It will work for one time, but as soon as I got back to "Library" and then try to go back and edit a playlist, I have to exit iTunes.
Any fix for this?
MacBook,2,1 with iTune 9:
When I import a CD , the songs get scattered all over the Library. It did not used to be the case. Now if I want to make another copy of the disc, I need to make a new folder then drag all the songs from all over the place in ones and twos from the Library.
Why is this order of songs disturbed?
Is there a way to order the Library so that a CD remains in one place ?
I made copy of a CD but the last one turned up to be the first one! One CD, which I thought had been written was not written at all
I have shuffle turned off. Seems like it shoudl be the simplest thing in the world to do, but I can't click and drag songs to change the order.

songs from Vinyl, into iTunes and keeping the song order on the Album. As it stands, when I rip Vinyl onto my computer, then import the songs into iTunes, they seem to be arbitrarily organized. I'm sure there is some logic to the way iTunes is organizing them, but it is not the order of the Album. Â There must be some way to organize or 'sort' these songs in order of the Album. I remember on the older versions of iTunes, there used to be a numbering section on the far left hand side of the songs. I can't see that anymore and even when I control-click the songs, the sorting options don't seem to do much for me. Â
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know that I used to be able to drag songs to a different order in my iTunes playlists, but tonight, no matter the order that I add the songs to the playlist, or Smart Playlist, the order of the songs is alphabetically arranged, and the only other option is to click on "name" but then it just does reverse alphabetical order. Is something different, in a recent iTunes upgrade? I'm a music teacher and I am trying to put the songs in the order that my students will be performing them next week?

Just recently out of the blue I noticed that some of the songs in my library were not in the correct order as they appear on the album. I went under "Get Info" to make sure that the track listing was correct (i.e. Track 2 of 10) and everything was correct, yet it still showed up in the wrong order. I even re-typed everything hoping it would reset but it did not. It appears to be only on albums that I purchased through iTunes (and yes, each song was purchased at the same time).
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I make a playlist in iTunes to the order I want to burn the songs in, after the CD has been burned it has changed the order of the songs. I have tried clicking on the 'copy to play order' button on that playlist folder, but nothing seems to work.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using itunes for many years and have burned countless cd's. Suddenly on many of my standard sized playlists I am getting the 'the songs in this playlist will not fit on one audio cd' prompt and nothing I do seems to fix it. A typical playlist size is 18 songs, 1.2 hours, under 200mb, and all of this should fit fine on an 80min., 700mb cd. I have tried changing from audio to mp3 in the burning preferences, then to a data cd {which actually looks like it sort of worked, but put the songs in artists alphabetical order- rearranging my entire mix}.. Since I imported my library from an older IMac to a newer one- many songs are cutting off at some random point in the song.. and, oddly enough, if an entire album the cut-off time is the same for every song in that album..

How I can sort my files within folders in a specific order? Not in alphabetical order, size, date, kind etc...but in an order that I want them in (documents from school to be exact, I would like to sort them in the progression of the lessons from week to week). I never knew how to do this at the time and now I am kind of learning how to sort all of my docs within Finder, but this seems to be the first stumbling block that I've come across?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with SOME of my albums in itunes. Some of them ( aprox 20%) are displaying the sogns within an album in an alphabetical order. I do not have "track" in the column header selected. I have tried selecting "track #"but this does not rectify the track names into the original album order. I can not manually enter the track number either in the "track #" field to manually rectify this as iTunes does not allow you do this. It is really frustrating that I have to listen to some of my albums in alpabetical song name order rather than the order the artist wanted me to. See an attached example screenshot for Erykah Badu's Baduizm Album.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere's something that's been bugging me for ages, literally years:
I've got a whole lot of music, 45 days worth, and I view it by date added and want to keep it that way for a number of reasons.
Problem is, when I want to play an album I have to click on the first track, then switch to album (or artist) display by the end of that track.
The other day I added an album by dragging it into iTunes in the Finder. I noticed that I could start and stop and advance and rewind tracks and it would go in order, from first to last track, even in Date Added mode, so it was visually moving up and down instead of from top to bottom.
Is there secretly a way to view in Date Added but have the next track be the next track on that album? Besides dragging the tracks into iTunes from the Finder I mean.
If anyone has a way to do this, it would seriously improve my life and I would be infinitely grateful.
Why do my photographs get out of order after I burn them to a CD-R? They are in a folder in desktop and in order before I burn the CD.

I just finished an original rock album, registered it with Gracenote, and it is being sold through itunes and many other places via cdbaby. The album is also available to download via Dropcards to people that buy or receive a download crad from us in person. PROBLEM is, when you download the cd, the tracks are in the proper order as on the album when they are in a folder from Dropcards, then you drag them into itunes and they are in ALPHABETICAL order in the RECENTLY ADDED folder! Under the MUSIC tab, they however are in proper album order. ?? It's good that the cd is properly registered and is in the right order in peoples main MUSIC list, but when I download albums, the easiest way to find the new album is under RECENTLY ADDED, which in my case would have people clicking on the wrong song to start listening to our record (not the intended feel we wanted to start the record with)Â

The problem is that iTunes separates two tracks from the others. I've tried to check everything in the data. Nothing seems to work.
View 4 Replies View RelatedQuite often when burning CDs, The order that I have carefully set gets completely scrambled when playlist is burned. This is especially bad due when trying to burn books in my audiobook collection.Â
I have looked at a few Apple tech notes about this topic, but all seem to be of versions much older than that currently available.Â
Alphabetical orde is not the problem and one suggestion to use a Song command to set tracks in the play order, doesn't work since Song command.Â
With the latest versions of iTunes my music albums don't seem to play in order of track number anymore. Is there a way to set or establish play order?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use grid view sorted by artist. I click on an artist which brings me to the view of their albums as a list with album art on the side.Multiple times a day the sorting changes and I have to put it back. I'll click an artist and iTunes insists on sorting the albums alphabetically like this:
I'll then click on Album by Artist/Year:That way my albums are sorted chronologically, the way I want. If i go back to grid view by clicking All Artists, then view another artist, iTunes will keep my sorting order. As soon as I play a different song, click All Artists and choose another artist, iTunes will switch back to sorting albums alphabetically.
How do I force iTunes to sort my albums chronologically (or in any order I specify)? Why does it insist on sorting in only one way?

Ive got a compilation album in iTunes, with it sorting by artist. I got round that problem by putting an abbreviation of the album name at the beginning of the artist title, but now the track numbers are not in order like all my other albums.
View 15 Replies View RelatedIn order to burn an album you can't simply click on the album cover and tell it to burn what's stored in the library... you have to make a playlist from it and burn that.
But it has a mind of it's own. You can't sort the list and burn it the way you want it to.
I even had it sort by track number and it burned it out of order.
