View 6 RepliesI've used Word on Microsoft Office X for the first time today and I am having a problem with the font suddenly appearing bigger after typing space during a sentence. Upon opening the Font Options Box the size shows unchanged.
This is very annoying and confusing!
I don't know if it makes a difference, the fact I was typing my address at the top of a letter when this was happening, although I was not using a letter template.
Okay, so we were forced to upgrade to Office 2008 so we could use the new Entourage, but we still want to use Word 2004 as our default for opening .doc documents.
You can go into the Get Info window all day long, set it and CHANGE ALL, but it doesn't work. Have tried this on various Macs, we're mostly still running Leopard, a few on Snow Leopard.
I have recently started using Pages in iwork over Office, I like the easy formatting and usability of Pages. But I have to send all these recently create pages doc in a word format to someone and so I did the Save as Word option. When I opened the Word file in Word all the text formatting went all over the place, it looked like it put extra tabs in there and there is a split down the middle of the text like it has put it in two columns.
Is there any way to ensure that when I create my pages document that the formatting is agreeable with word.
I have a MB Pro and run Office 2008 on it. I'm running OSX 10.5.8, but had the same thing occur on OSX 10.4.x so I believe its isolated to Office.
In Word, when I go File, Open the application hangs. It open the finder like window but it has a huge amount of columns and spans across at least ten screens. I have the spinning pin-wheel and the application reports as not responding. It does not happen when I do file, open recent.
Macbook Pro (2014) when I work with Microsoft office, Word, and use the "command v" keys the entire Word doc freezes and I need to reboot entire computer. What is this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAt the moment I do not have Microsoft Office for my mac but I am looking into it as I will be going back to study soon and know I will encounter problems when it comes to transfering documents from my mac to a PC with Microsoft software. However I really love the mac application 'Pages' for personal projects so I am just wondering if I can still use it alongside Microsoft or I must give it up?

This is driving me nuts. I'm working with a 400 page document where I frequently have to change styles. When I'm scrolling through the list, the huge styles tooltip hoverboxes pop up. They obscure 3 or 4 style options at a time, so I have to scroll farther than necessary to see them.
I've searched Words' preferences, but I can't find out where to disable the tooltips.
Does anyone else find it incredibly annoying that you cannot open an MS Word doc in one space and then go to another space to try to open another doc there without being flipped back to the first space? This seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to want to do - I use Spaces with separate projects not applications.
I've spoken to Apple support and they say it's something I need to take up with MS. I am well aware that these companies have in the past blamed each other for previous incompatibility issues. Do anyone have any insight on these problems before I do contact MS?
I'm unable to open my Office Word for Mac. The message say's check with developer to make sure Microsoft Word works with this version of Mac OS X.Originally I downloaded OFFICE from the Apple Store App, so unable to reinstall as it suggest.

I was wondering if there was a configuration file or .plist that could be edited that would disable the ability to use Internet Sharing on Lion?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to Lion, I can no longer see the text in my word documents or excel worksheets. I know the text is there because it appears in the formula bar - it just isn't visible in the cells. I can also see the text if I quickview the excel files. In the word documents, all I can see are the pictures/images...no text. Weird. I have the latest version of Office 2008 and Lion OS.

I have 10.6.3 Mac OS and I have Microsoft Office 2011.
I am a student so I use Microsoft word a lot and when I use it I use it as Notebook layout.
When I first used it I had no problem at all. But then I don't know what happened but all of sudden the letters I type in would be on top of a line instead of writing between lines like as writing on a notebook.
I opened my previous notebook layout documents and compared it to the new one but couldn't find what was different.

Ready to install Office 2011 for Mac. Currently we are running Office 2008 for Mac.
What is the best way to eliminate Office 2008 and to ensure a clean Office 2011 install?
For most Mac programs, I would normally drag the application folder to the trash, and then do a library search for some entries related to the program. Will this work for Office 2008 to Office 2011? I ask because the M$ installers seem to more than simply add the app to your app folder and update the libraries - and don't get me started on the horrors of the Windoze registry errors.
Somebody told me that Mac version of MS Office is incompatible with MS Office for Windows .
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo here is my dilemma. I got a letter a few days ago from the college I am going to, and it included a list of requirements if we were bringing our own computer. One of the requirements was if we had a Mac, to have Office 2008. I have talked to a friend who is replacing her current Macbook with another Macbook later in the summer, and we decided that when she bought her Macbook, that we could split the price of Microsoft Office for Mac 2008. Now, should I just go ahead and continue on with the plan with my friend, or what? Is there a huge difference in Office 2004 and Office 2008?

What would you recommend,
