I'm using Numbers to track my homework and readings, and I'm wondering if there's a way I can add a hyperlink to a file on my Mac from a table in Numbers.
For example, say I've typed up my notes in Pages and put it in a specific folder in Documents.
Could I add a link to a table in Numbers that allows me to just click on it and my notes open immediately in Pages? Has anyone tried this before?
I wanted someone to tell me if this is possible to do in Keynote:
say I have a Keynote presentation with four slides. In the first slide I have hyperlinks to pages 2, 3 and 4. Can I have a different transition effect for each slide so that when I click on hyperlink for slide 2 I have the cube transition, when I click on hyperlink for page 3 I have the flip transition... etc?
I cannot figure out how to hyperlink in Apple mail? I never wanted to ask and look stupid, but my friend who is a mac user just asked me the same thing! Now with strength in numbers, how the heck do you do it?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIn windoze I can type, for example person@server.com?subject=Fish&body=Cod and when I send the email with that in, the person I send it to can just click the link and it will: create a new email put the person it goes to in the 'to' field put the subject in the subject field put the word 'cod' into the body However, when I do this in snow leopard, I just get an unclickable line of stuff, much as you have probably viewed above. Also, when someone sends me an email with a similar link, it's also not clickable and I have to laboriously create a new email with all the fields remembered and filled and gone back to and well you get the picture. How do I make it clickable? It's not the same as a clickable URL, I've discovered, so that didn't work.

It is in my sent items and I have not received a notification to say it has not been sent. If I send the same email without the hyperlink they recieve it. What is stopping this email from being sent properly and why am I not receiving a notification to say otherwise.

If I cut and paste a web link into an email, it does not become a hyperlink. The recipient cannot simply click on the link, it appears just as regular text. I use Hotmail.

I am taking a logo and trying to attach a hyperlink to it's web address.I created the letter in Pages and then copied it to mac email. Pages will only let me embed hyperlink into text.So I made a line "click here" next to the logo and linked it to that. It works fine but when emailing it the logos don't arrive on the receiving end. I see them in the email when I send it, but not the receiver.
View 3 Replies View RelatedToday I tried opening my keynotes presentation file to make amendments to it and when I double clicked on it, the program loading bar only loaded up a third of the way and then hanged. I then tried to save it to a flash drive and use it on a different computer, but when I tried to copy it over to the flash drive it gave me this error: "the finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "garment styles" could not be read or written error code - 36".
I have tried changing the file extension to a zip, then unzipping it and then renaming it but that did not work.(It wouldn't let me unzip it). I have also looked at the index file name to see if that was the problem, but that is as it should be.
I have also tried uploading it to a website and emailing it and it will not let me.
Is there anyway I can recover this file as I have been working on it for over a month and it is due next week, or will I need to start again?
I have a concert I recorded and I would like to extract the audio from either the MPEG-2 file or the DIVX file. Is there any program that will extract either the AC3 or MP3 audio? If it is the AC3, what else do I need to use to convert it to MP3 or AAC or WAV?

It shows that the size of the file is 96 kb and I can see it with the "quick look" option when you left click. This is using CS3 by the way.

Does ANYONE know the secret? Can it be done, or not? My PC clients do it all the time easily. its says .vmx is locked
and having gone in to it i see the file

I managed to successfully hide the file: cat picture.jpg hidden.rtf.zip > picture2.jpg
results in a picture (picture2.jpg) that is the size of the sum of picture.jpg and hidden.rtf.zip. I presume this means that I am successfully putting hidden into the picture.I can open picture2.jpg, but I can't figure out a way to access the hidden zip.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to this forum (and fairly new to Mac) and am having a slight issue with getting Quicktime and Logic 9 to play an mp4 file correctly.
When the file is opened, the window goes black, with the audio playing throughout the clip - very nconvenient since I am on a film composition course where I need the video, NOT the audio. However, if I open the file in VLC Media Player, it plays perfectly fine. The problem is, I need to write music to go with the clip, which means using Logic. When the clip is imported into Logic, the same thing happens as with Quicktime; black creen, full audio.
I read on a thread somewhere on this forum that Quicktime may not be using the right codec, but have no idea which codec I would need or how to use it through Quicktime (or where to get it from).
The strange thing is, Quicktime and Logic both managed to open and play an mp4 file from my boyfriend's phone with no problems whatsoever, but the files that I transferred from my university will not play, which doesn't make much sense really. I've tried transferring them via an external hard drive, USB stick and DVD - same case for each one!
I need to make a decent start on this project by Tuesday so would like for it to be resolved this weekend! I have a Mac Mini, if that even matters?

Is there an app I can run these files through, to convert the file name to ID3 tags before importing?
