I have about 40 documents I'd like to merge into one huge document. How do I do that all at once? I don't want to open them individually and merge them into the document one by one.
I have created a document in Pages that consists of 10 certification cards on one page. I want to mail merge names, dates etc. from a Numbers file but have each card on the one page contain a different name, date etc. When I mail merge it adds the same person to each card on the page and then creates a new page for each additional person.
How do I stop a mail merge from Address Book to Pages from throwing a new page for each entry?I've got a row of 'first name: second name... etc, etc, and just want a single page with all the address book group on it.But the merge makes each name and address on a new page.
For some reason, Pages is not giving me the option to delete documents. I've dragged the doc to the trash bin, I've tried right clicking it, I've tried deleting it from the Edit window in the document and still no go. I really need and want to delete these Pages docs.
I've created a 15 page proposal in Apple Pages, each page as a independent Pages doc. Is it possible to combine all into one Apple Pages doc/file so I don't have 15 separate ones?
I have a proposal due for an english class, and I have to email it to my professor. I know he does not have a Mac, much less Pages, so will he be able to read my document that I created in Pages '09 on his PC? I know he has Office 2007, if that helps. Or do I have to save the file in some special format from within Pages?
I'm running Safari 5.02 on a 15" Macbook Pro running 10.6.6. ALL TOO OFTEN I will attempt to access a page [URL] and it will not load. All I get is an eternal spinning wheel. I have to launch Chrome or Firefox to achieve success and they load the page without any difficulty.  I've suspected flash content conflict but have installed all the latest updates, but still no success.
I'm running an experiment that will give me a spreadsheet in Excel with 20 participants names, addresses, email addresses, and profits (from the experiment). My goal is to take this data and create individual receipts in Word that have all the above information and can be printed out and handed to the individuals (20 receipts). I have access to Office 2004 (Mac) or 2007 (Windows).
When, oh when is Apple going to include a comprehensive merge feature in Pages. Yeah, I know we can merge Address Book fields into Pages docs, and that's cool and works flawlessly. But I've got literally 100s of WriteNow template docs and data docs that I created back in the mid-1980s to use in my estate planning practice - wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care surrogates and tons of forms letters we use every day.
But the era of OS 9 applications like WriteNow and INControl which have been orphaned and un-supported for at least 12 years and Classic mode is soon to end. And here I am tied to the proverbial wagon wheel unless Apple completes Pages as a comprehensive office word processor by adding a full featured merge function. With the release of Bento, I thought it would be the companion data base for mergeable template documents in Pages, but I can haven't seen anything that looks like it. Please Apple, get on the stick and get a release of Pages out with a full featured merge function in it to save us long time, loyal Apple fans from the horror of having to use MS Word as a primary word processing application.
After repeatedly watching the tutorial for using Pages 09 and Numbers 09 to do a mail merge I am no further forward!Â
I have a letter, as described, I click on 'Inspector', then try to click the blue circle, but the word 'Merge' is grayed out and I can get no further.Â
My 2.5 year old (wired) mighty mouse gave up the ghost recently, and I just replaced it with a new one today.
The thing is... it doesn't seem to scroll "down" as easily as it scrolls "up" and "left to right". (as it is right now, I have to apply a lot more pressure to scroll down than I do to scroll up or laterally)
Is there an adjustment I can make to get this thing to scroll "down" as easily and freely as it does "up"?Has anyone else had this sort of issue, or is it just me? Ok, Thanks.
I've had my iMac, 10.5.8 version, for over 2 years with no issues till now. Last week one of my Pages documents was missing and today another pages document. I searched using Spotlight and Finder but could not find them. The trash did not have them. Unfortunately I had not backed them up for a couple months. My girlfriend, who isn't very Mac knowledgeable, said she had not opened them.
I've got a number of Pages documents on iCloud, and all of a sudden, none of them can be opened from Pages (5.2.2) on my MacBook Pro. They all appear, but they either say "zero bytes" or there is just a gray line. If I select any document, the "Open" button remains gray. I CAN open all docs on my iPad, and I can also open them using the iCloud web interface. Meanwhlie, Calendar is syncing new events to all devices without problem, in all directions, so it can't be a problem with the account.Â
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9), 2.4 GHz 8 Gb Apple RAM
After the last Pages, Keynote and Numbers update my iCloud documents cannot be accessed anymore. There is no iCloud "storage" under open documents anymore. All my documents are still in the cloud (can access them on icloud.com) but they are not visible in the apps.
All files are however visible in my iOS-apps (Still iOS 7.1.2).Currently using OS 10.10 (14A329r) but not upgraded to iCloud Drive.
I'm new to MacRumors. I just installed IWork on my new 13" MBP (has Snow Leopard) and have been unable to open Word 97 documents that I've been emailing myself from work and saving to a flash drive. I have not had such problems with my IMac using Pages.
From the response I received in the Pages forum, this appears to be a Lion-related question. Since I upgraded to Lion, I noticed that whenever I open a specific Pages document other recently-opened Pages documents will also open. Is there a way to prevent this? I was unable to find anything in Pages preferences.
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.4/2.2 GHz), Mac OS X (10.7.3), iPad2/iOS 5
On my iMac and MacBookPro I cannot save .pages documents to iCloud iWork. They appear on the iWork screen, but I cannot retrieve them.
However, from my iPad it is no problem!. After editing in iPad and save the documents to iCloud back it is possible to download these on my iMac or MacBookPro without problem.
I am using Pages on a MacBook Pro. I can't find a way to delete documents that are no longer needed. I have many duplicates and no longer needed documents that I would like to get rid of.
Don't know how to delete pages or folders from my Documents list. When I try to right or left click, they just open. If I highlight the title and hit "delete" nothing happens. Accumulation lots of unwanted pages- Sure it's an easy answer, I just don't know it...
I'm writing a long document in Pages, and I'm storing it in iCloud so I can edit it on my iPad. Do I have to manually download from iCloud.com when I start writing on my mac and re-upload to iCloud.com when I'm finished? It's automatic on Dropbox. I think it's automatic on iCloud, too, but Zi don't see how to do it.Â
How I can transfer all documents from iDisk to Pages at once? I only read information how I can transfer one document at a time, but I have thousands of documents to transfer from my iDisk which will disappear at June 30th. In MobileMe I was using iDisk as an automatic backup system. With the software from Backuplist I made a backup from my hard disk tot iDisk. How can I transfer all of this to Pages?
I'm trying to put a password on a few pages documents using the 10.5.8 operating system. I realize it's sort of out of date, so that could be the problem. But i've been watching some videos that say to click on inspector, then the blank page, and then check the box that says 'require a password.' Only thing is that I don't see that box to check at the bottom of inspector. Â
