ITunes :: Changing Storage Location With Media In The New Storage Location?
Jun 30, 2012Equipment: Mac Mini (Early 2009), Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Lion. I started noticing my Mac Mini was having trouble reconnecting my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, slow processing (spinning pinwheel of death), and programs freezing. I did a recovery within Lion from the recovery drive and it seemed to work for a week or so. It started acting up again. So, I decided to erase the HD and reinstall Lion. I basically use the Mac Mini as a server for all my iTunes content. Â
My iTunes default save location is to my Drobo storage unit. Now that I have reinstalled Lion, I am looking for the easiest, most convenient, and safest way to change the default save location in iTunes and then importing the media. It would be nice if it was possible to just simply change the default save location to the folder I previously had all my media saved in and it would just magically appear in iTunes. Everything was organized perfectly, which took hours of time and attention to details. Â

Dec 17, 2010I have a 27" i7 with a SSD and a HD. I use Gmail / Imap, but I store my message on my Mac so I can easily search through them.
However, my Gmail account is large enough that it fills my SSD. I need the mail application to store the message on the HD. I can't find an option to make that happen.
Anyone know of a work around?

I am aware of "defaults write com.apple.screencapture *location*" but I want to change the location to my 2nd drive which doesn't have OSX on it, every time I've tried to insert MacintoshHD2 in there it just doesn't work?

Jun 21, 2014My old iMac had OSX 10.5.xx and iTunes 9.xx installed and the iTunes library was stored on an external HD. I have run iTunes that way for many years and had to upgraded the HD a couple of times to the point I now have a 4TB drive for my iTunes library.Â
I have now bought a new iMac that has OSX 10.9.3 and iTunes 11.2.2 installed on it. I changed the default library location under iTunes preferences but it tunes does not read the files and keeps on wanting me to file my files from the Cloud.Â

Oct 14, 2010I've had my iMac, 10.5.8 version, for over 2 years with no issues till now. Last week one of my Pages documents was missing and today another pages document. I searched using Spotlight and Finder but could not find them. The trash did not have them. Unfortunately I had not backed them up for a couple months. My girlfriend, who isn't very Mac knowledgeable, said she had not opened them.

Sep 6, 2014I've got a number of Pages documents on iCloud, and all of a sudden, none of them can be opened from Pages (5.2.2) on my MacBook Pro. They all appear, but they either say "zero bytes" or there is just a gray line. If I select any document, the "Open" button remains gray. I CAN open all docs on my iPad, and I can also open them using the iCloud web interface. Meanwhlie, Calendar is syncing new events to all devices without problem, in all directions, so it can't be a problem with the account.Â
