Mar 27, 2009If I buy a music in iTunes and want to create a ringtone from it in iTunes... Do I have to buy the ringtone? How can I create/save it?

Applications :: "Create Ringtone" In Itunes - FAIL
Jan 19, 2010i tried the "Create Ringtone" in the itunes, after the first time, i learnt I had to use something off the store. I went off and got a few songs, but now when I try and do it, i get this: *look at attachments* why its not working? I have the internet on, I can get to the store, i can download etc etc. Everything works, but that "Create Ringtone".

Mar 30, 2012Strangest thing. I have tried everything to delete a ringtone from my iphone. I have even deleted the source file but the tone still reappears.
I even unselected all the tones from my phone (in iTunes) then synced (so that nothing transfers). But even then that stubborn ringtone still appears!

ITunes :: Cannot Move Ringtone To Tones Folder
Mar 17, 2012We have been trying to create a ringtone from a song in iTunes but cannot move it to the tones folder. We have followed all the instructions available on-line and changed the song to an AAC file, reduced it to under 30 seconds etc etc. It is described as a ringtone in the Get Info box but we cannot move it to the Tones folder in the library and therefore cannot sync to the iphone.

Sep 5, 2014I downloaded the free Ringtone maker in iTunes. It shows up under Apps in my iTunes page, but there is no option to open it. I've tried double-clicking but nothing happens. I have also tried right-clicking, but this only gives me the following options: Get info (just leads back to app description in app store), Show in Finder, Show in iTunes store, and Delete.

Oct 2, 2010i have a problem with i tunes, i'm trying to make a ring tone for my iphone from an existing file in my library. to do that i need to press "create an acc version" from the "advanced" tab amongst other procedures but the problem is that the aforementioned option is grey, meaning it can not be pressed, i have a similar problem where a simple thing as copy/paste can't be done on the computer because that to is grey and their fore i just cant press it.

Apr 22, 2009I've search high and dry for the answer to this question, so sorry if I'm the millionth person to ask...
About a year ago I finally did the right thing and bought a 1TB external HD for my 'G4 Dual Optical'.
I put all my music (and other stuff) on it and went into iTunes Preferences>Advance and changed the 'iTunes Music Folder Location' to my External HD.
Easy Peasy!
Then in January ('09), I upgraded the OS from OS X v10.4 to v10.5.6.
I did a complete fresh install, everything was fine, except when I redirected iTunes to my External HD I'd lost all my Playlists!
As you can imagine this was slightly frustrating as I have over 7000 songs in my iTunes library! A couple of weeks ago, I spent hours and hours re-creating new playlist folders, and putting them in some kind of organization again.
Now, this is my Question:
I've now bought a new Mac and I was just getting everything over to the new one, this will be easy as everything is backed up, but how do I save those play lists?
I notice I can 'right-click' on a play list and I have a choice of things I can do!
Maybe it's this? I'd be very grateful if somebody could explain in "Layman's Terms", how I can do this, as the idea of having to organize the library again is a daunting one!

Apr 2, 2010For some unknown reason, I can no longer choose 'Create MP3 version' from the right-click menu. I can still do it from the 'Advanced' menu, but why could it be gone from the right-click menu, all of a sudden? I have tried changing to AAC/WAV and other codecs, but it doesn't help.

I would love to create an iTunes library that would catalog my entire vinyl collection, thus allowing me to create playlists of songs, genres, etc that I can refer to on my iPhone when I am out on a gig. I do NOT want to bother with converting my vinyl collection to mp3's. All I want to do is to create dummy albums in iTunes for each of my vinyl records. Is there any way to do this? I just want to type in the artist and album title and have iTunes fill in the rest of the info. Yes? There are other applications that have been created to catalog record collections, but then they do not allow me to create playlists with individual songs, which is important for my needs.

Sep 8, 2010I highlighted about 23 songs from an album, and clicked on create apple lossless version. I now have two copies of each song. Shouldn't it have asked me if I wanted to delete the original version? I guess I need to delete each one individually?

Jun 1, 2010I've been wanting to create a digital archive of all my music. I want to accomplish two things
1. Put all my CDs in their original quality on my hard drive and regularly back it up. Hopefully, once this is done, I can discard all of my CDs or put them away in a hard to reach box, thereby reducing clutter.
2. Have all of my songs easily accessible via a iPod/iPhone/etc. I have only about 150 CDs.
I'm a PC user, but am thinking about getting a Mac Book Pro. As of now, it looks like iTunes and Windows Media Player would let me accomplish #1, but since I want to get #2 as well, I've decided to use iTunes. But I have a ton of questions and am hoping to get get some answers. Right now, I just pop the CD into the drive, and get iTunes to Import the CD with the only changes to the default being that I ask it to import to WAV (which is not the default). However, I use the default WAV settings.
Am I doing the right thing with respect to importing for best quality? Why does iTunes offer additional configuration for importing to WAV files? There are settings for sampling rate and such, although I'm just using the defaults for those. Would there be any difference at all between a rip using Windows Media Player and a rip using iTunes? I have enabled error correction in the "import settings". Is there a way to tell if there were no errors, if an error was encountered and corrected, or if an uncorrectable error was encountered, while importing a CD? For many of the CDs that I've imported so far, Apple does not seem to have the artwork. Is there a recommended place to get artwork for iTunes and what would be the procedure for adding artwork? After I have imported a CD in WAV, how do I convert that to something smaller that I can then download to an iPod? Is it possible for iTunes to keep the song in multiple formats?
