OS X :: Convert IWork Pages To HTML?
Jun 20, 2010I have created a decent Pages document that I will be mailing out, but I also have the need to email it to my clients and maybe post it to a webpage. I know I can save the doc as a PDF and send it that way, but I was wondering if there is a way to convert the file to HTML and use that in my email and website. Anyone have a tool or tip on how to do that?
My Pages document has a small table of data and a graph.
It would take me a long time to convert by hand in some other HTML editor as I am not good at that.

For ex. when working with IE and you right-click > view source and the notepad pops up.
I'm looking for something along those lines for a Mac, that way I can get some practice in etc etc.

And also something to mention, Server Admin 10.5.6 and Apple Remote Desktop 3.2 DOES NOT WORK on Snow Leopard. The only way to manage my Server is to use Screen Sharing app <-- IT SUCK.

Basically, what I'm looking to do is shorten the width of the search bar as shown in the attached screenshot. As far as right-clicking "Inspect Element" on the search bar itself, I'm totally lost as to what to put in the editing window that appears and where/how to do it.

According to Apple, it can be done by following these directions, however the option it mentions ("Display images and embedded objects in HTML messages") is not available. The only thing I see is "Display remote images in HTML messages," which I have unchecked, but HTML email is still coming through just without the images.

Feb 13, 2009Hopefully there will be a solution for this, as everything else I've posted since I took the plunge and bought a mac about 9 months ago has worked out great.
I use entourage for email, and want to include a LinkedIn image in my auto-signature, and have that hyperlink to my public linkedin profile (linkedin provides the html for this). However, I can't seem to get that to work...just like I can't get the link to my website to hyperlink.

Nov 26, 2009I have a group of students who want to use iWeb to create a website to show off some of their art work for university interviews. They have been creating the site and saving it before logging off a machine. They have been wanting to do more work on their websites, but have found no sign of the pages they created when they log into a machine and load up iWeb. Initially I thought it was because they were logging in on a machine different to the one that they had started creating the site on, so I got them to log onto the original machine, but still nothing. I then got them to export the files to HTML and then to re-open them in iWeb, but it won't let you do that. Any suggestions on how I may solve this problem? The students have network accounts, rather than stand-alone machines that they work on, so I know it's something to do with that.

Jan 13, 2010I have worked hard at creating my businesses webpage with iWeb and now and have a hard time getting it recognized by Google and other search engines. I have an immediate problem and a secondary. First. I am working with Google Webmaster Central and they are trying to verify that I am the owner of the site. I have two options--insert a meta tag on my homepage or upload an HTML file.
After working through the Help menu, I was able to figure out how to add HTML snippets from the media bar. However, when I update the website, and go to the link they ask me to go for, it is not recognized as having it on the page. I think the problem is this: I am putting it on the page, but the directions from google have a very specific area that they want it in the code. So, is there any way of seeing the code so that I can literally copy and paste it in there? I can't seem to figure it out. Second: I want to add meta tags to increase organic search results but have no clue how to with iWeb. How do I add a meta tag? Here is my website: www.newfangledeats.com

May 28, 2007I am looking for a html text editor that color codes html tags. I am used to using cuteHTML on Windows which works EXCELLENT! I would assume there is something like this on OSx? I dont want anything to "build" webpages for me like Dreamweaver. For doing html by hand (and copy/paste) the colors really help your eyes work on a complex page easier than just using textedit for example.

The only page I've uploaded to the server is the "welcome" page, but now none of the html snippets are showing on that page. I can see the html snippet when I "visit the published site" via the hard drive, but not on the web. Does iWeb '09 put the html snippets somewhere new? If so, where? Should I upload my entire site again now that '09 has updated all of my files? (I'm afraid my entire site will be rendered unusable if all the snippets are erased).

Apr 28, 2009We have developed an application which sends HTML email to all users. Users will have either Microsoft outlook for windows or Entourage 2008 in MAC. Our HTML template contains <table> tags and <div> tags with Cascading Style sheets. We also use a div text with a unique id and styles with border to look as if it is a text box and allow users to enter values into the div tag and when they reply, we have an application which reads the html file from outlook and searches for the div tag and inserts the value to the db. Both the users can able to view the email properly. But, when the Entourage users click on Reply to enter values, they do not see any styles and could not able to identify the div tag to input their values.

Jan 31, 2008I tried to open a HTML file in iWeb not thinking it wouldnt open it. It said no it couldnt do it then closed. However everytime i open iWeb it now says the same thing."The Document "index.html" could not be opened" (With the iWeb icon and a big yellow "!" triangle.)Then i get a second box just the iWeb logo now "Can't open file "~/desktop/index.html."Then closes its self. Ive done two reboots. Deleted the file and still the same thing happens. Ive opened the package but cant see any preferences or anyhting to delete. Though i have deleted the iLife preferences form a folder. If i run iweb from the package contents i get a terminal window

Nov 4, 2009If I forward an HTML e-mail manually, it appears the same to the recipient as it does to me, i.e. properly formatted. However, if I forward using a Rule, it appears to get sent as plain text with all the images in the mail as attachments.
why Forwarding should be different when done via a Rule rather than manually? I can't find any settings that may affect this.

Sep 28, 2010i have a directory with many sub directories and files. I cant back it up to a dvd without breaking it up, but thats way to alkward. Is there an app that will allow me to just create a backup of the entire directory, over 2 dvds if necessary without requiring me to split the directory in two?
