i just purchased candybar about 2 weeks ago on my imac. love the convenience of the program, but i may be selling the computer soon.i'll definately put a fresh install of leopard on the imac befor selling.if i buy a macbook, can i use my candybar serial..or do i need to purchase it again?

I'm sick of the standard grey mac color.When I'm in candybar I go to the dock section-->view-->dock-->preview background..the options under preview background are greyed out. Also when I am in the dock section-->view-->background-->change color. I try changing the color but it doesn't change. Am I doing something wrong..or what?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a PCI card made by SIIG: CyberSerial PCI 16550 RS232 Serial I/O Card. After I got it I noticed the system requirements only list Windows.For the **** of it I installed it in my Power Mac. The system seems to recognize it in "About This Mac..." as a "Serial Controller". There appear to be serial ports assigned to it: /dev/cu.pci-serial3a.When I try to run a serial terminal program over this port (connected to some known working hardware) I get gibberish. I've checked out the cable and remote hardware on another machine and it works fine.

Is there any free alternative that I can use icontainer files with?Not LiteIcon, because I can't get the icontainer I want to use (Kobhens) to work with it.
I'm playing around with Candybar to change some icons and it has a strange behavior. When I drag new icon to the application (Firefox) in it changed in Candybar, I'm asked to apply the changes and restart the Dock but the icons are not changed.I made a short video that show the problem.I also tried to just restart OSX but it doesn't work either.

After that my dock was no more I have tried making another login but still the dock is missing I dont believe that anything got deleted idk. Also I opened candybar again and I pressed the button to make it restore all the changes is made. It completed the restore but my dock was still missing.

However I have run into some strangeness On the desktop, if I quit and then reconnect to the iDisk it will show the new icon for a moment and then change it back to the default purple drive with the cloud picture. yet, in the finder on the left hand side it shows the new icon. But at the top of the finder window it shows the default icon. WTF?
I have tried changing it in CandyBar several times but this is always the behaviour after the changes
still getting used to apple osx i just copied the app candybar and imported several folders of icons. However now when i try to make a new collection and add more icons it doesnt show the icons would i have to reinstall the app any advice would be great.

I can only presume that adobes terms and conditions say that you can only install it on one machine. but that is there to most probably stop people giving it to others to install. I am the only one thats going to ever use it. So my questions is can it be install more than once using the same serial key? if yes do you know how many times can you activate the serial key.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new Retina Display MBP as an upgrade to my old iMac.I have over 200 Applications taking up the bulk of my drive, many of which have serial numbers that I no longer even know of due to loss of original boxes, or what have you. I am trying to avoid copying all of my content over to the new MBP, I would much rather just move what I actually need to and try to keep it a little "cleaner". So my question is, with a Time Machine Backup of my iMac... Can I plug that into the MacBook Pro, launch Time Machine, and simply drag the last backup's Applications over? Will the ones with the serial numbers run?

I uninstalled it and tried with a new Office 2008 software with new serial but when I try to do so, it always says that the serial number is the previous one, so the machine kept the original serial number and does not let me install the new office. When I launched Pages I was greeted with the Buy or Try screen. I bought myself a serial number. I have noticed now, that when I go into any iWork app if I click Pages/Keynote/Numbers in the menubar next to the Apple logo, I get the menu for About, Preferences, Register iWork, Quit, etc. I know that the retial box copies no longer require a serial number. My question is this: does the retail iWork disc still show "Try iWork..." as a greyed out menu option under the Pages/Keynote/Numbers menu? For the trial (that was bought with a legit serial, it does) So I was wondering if the retial box version does also? Like this:

It arrived today (excellent speed from the Store!) but it keeps prompting me for a serial number so that I can use it. I previously had the trial installed which has since expired a few days ago (although I could still use it for some reason) so I thought it may be something to do with that. I then uninstalled all three and re-installed but it still asks me for a serial number and doesn't seem to give me another other choice other than back out and not enter the program. I downloaded the trial of iWork '09 and I really like it. It complements Office 2008 really well, better in some ways. Anyway, I want to purchase it from the Apple Store. I can either purchase a serial number that is emailed to me to enter into the trial version or a boxed version that is shipped to me. Which way should I go? I guess if I get the boxed, I have to install the trial and reinstall from the DVD or something? Is getting the serial number just as good?
