Applications :: Application To Forward Land Line Calls To Laptop?
Jan 14, 2010
I work from home and currently have a land line funded by my work. Is there an application that would allow me to forward all my land line calls to my mac? Maybe something that has caller ID and call filtering?
How do I stop/turn-off having all my text messages or phone calls popping up on my laptop? ... Without affecting my iCloud backups, connections, calendar, contacts etc.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
I've just installed the BRL-CAD application and it need a command line input (/usr/brlcad/bin) to the System - see below. I am not that familiar with the commands although no problem getting into the Terminal. I just don't want to screw this up. I am running a Mac Mini, 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, OS 10.6.5. I need some step-by-step info in getting this embedded and the application up and running.
Setting Up the Path: Once installed, you will need to add /usr/brlcad/bin to your system PATH. For Bourne shell users, you can run the following: PATH=/usr/brlcad/bin:$PATH ; export PATH For C shell users, this should do the same thing: set path=( /usr/brlcad/bin $path ) ; rehash
It is happening more and more often: When I start my iMac the mouse pointer is moving normally but when I click on, say, Finder nothing happens, or when I click on the Dock nothing happens. It will not stay or land on any app. It is just hovering and nothing seems to be affected by the mouse pointer.
I turn the mouse off and back on and it works fine. So it is an erratic behavior which baffles me.
I have read numerous cases in the discussions and all point to a PRAM reset. Will a PRAM reset delete or revert modifications I have made to my iMac, such as disabling the startup sound, via sudo?
I don't mind restarting the mouse but it is a hassle
I googled this a little bit and couldn't find a good answer - is there a way to cycle through FF & REW speeds when watching a video in Quicktime X using the apple remote? If I hold down the FF button it will play at 2x, but I can't get any faster than that.
If I forward an HTML e-mail manually, it appears the same to the recipient as it does to me, i.e. properly formatted. However, if I forward using a Rule, it appears to get sent as plain text with all the images in the mail as attachments.
why Forwarding should be different when done via a Rule rather than manually? I can't find any settings that may affect this.
I used to watch streaming video podcasts in iTunes and they would popup in a separate quicktime-type window. Since a recent update streaming podcasts appear in a non-adjustable window over iTunes and I am no longer able to select which portion of the podcast I would like to view. This is irritating.
I've looked through the settings and can't find anything that fixes this.
This is 10.6.2 on a Macbook Pro (Spring 2009?), with iTunes 9.
Double poll here. There are two questions: How much DATA do you have Oo-line?
This is data and not total capacity. This includes all your on-line data: music, images, video, the OS, all of it. It doesn't include back-up data even if it's on-line like Time Machine tho. Just active data.
And of the on-line storage devices used for that DATA totally, what % are they filled to?
For example if you had two 500 GB drives and about 400 GB of data you would answer: "I have < 500 GB of DATA on-line." and,"My on-line storage is between 25% and 50% full.".
i'm having some issues recording in garage band which should hopefully be easy to clear up. i record an instrumental track into garage band through the line-in jack in the back. the track shows up in garage band just fine and plays, but i'm running into trouble recording while that track is playing. i plug my headphones in so i can try to hear the track while i am recording vocals, but i am unable to hear the track. i checked the inputs/outputs in system preferences and output is set to headphones, microphone is set to line in. so i'm not too sure what it could be.
I recently got in my aaxa tech m2 projector to use for my canon rebel t1i. It work great when I wanted to show a few people my photos all at once.
The m2 comes with vga, so I thought why not connect it to my macbook pro. Here comes the problem. My macbook won't use the projector as a second display. I don't know if it's not detecting it or I need to change some settings around.
I have noticed while using skype on my macbook pro 2012 13inch that the green light randomly but frequently shuts off for about a half second and then turns back on. During that time, my screen freezes on Skype and then returns back to normal when the green light comes back on. Is that normal with skype on mac's or is it an internal computer issue.
I'm trying to set up the making and receiving calls on my mac but I don't have the cellular calls box on my FaceTime preference. i had it 10 minutes ago but when i checked it back i don't have anymore. when i had the cellular calls box when i tried to check the box it kept telling me i have to be logged in to the same iCloud apple ID and i was. i'm only using 1 email on all of my account and it still not working.
I've had this problem since Friday with my Mac Pro (March 2009) and haven't been able to solve it.
On Friday my speakers suddenly stopped working. After first having confirmed that the speakers were working with another source, I tried headphones both in frontal headphone slot and with the analog line out in the back, both without success. There's a red light in the optical audio out, indicating that it's on for some reason, although I have selected different audio out source. The internal speaker works just fine, only the normal audio out doesn't give me anything.
I found a thread in the MBP section similar to this problem, but solutions for MBP didn't work.
my last work pc had a neat piece of software that allowed you to select a contact's phone number in the Outlook address book and then dial directly (albeit via the office Voip system).
Is anyone aware of anything similar for use with the iMac and Address Book?
This is pretty cool. If you are using the latest builds of the Chrome browser for Mac with the ability to install Chrome extensions, you can now install Google Voice into your browser. It adds a little icon to the right of the URL/Search bar which lets you make calls/SMS/Check your messages. Perhaps the best feature though, is that you can make calls directly from the browser - just like you can on your iPhone. Chrome will create a hyperlink on phone numbers it finds in the browser. The calls go through whichever phone (including Skype) you have set up with Google Voice. Eventually, once Gizmo5 is properly integrated with Google, you'll be able to make the full transaction without leaving your browser.
has audio and headphones 3.5 mm females. I would like to know if buying a cheapo headset (with mic) with the 2 x 3.5 miniplugs would work for Skype phone calls or I would rather get a USB headset
When skyping, my mac book pro keeps dropping callswith one person and they told me that more calls get dropped with me than with anyone else.. Apparently, it's the worst with my computer according to those I skype with.
If I create a new message in Mail.app and start typing, the text is single spaced.
If I paste in text from a word processor, or quote someone else's message, I sometimes find that my text is 1-1/2 spaced or double-spaced. Can line spacing or leading be set or controlled from within a mail message?
