Applications :: Video Captured Using Quicktime Pro / Can Use H.264
May 24, 2009
I'm trying to figure out the best settings to capture video from a Cannon XL directly in Quicktime Pro. Will I need to capture as a DV stream or can I use H.264 right of the bat?
I used to use Command-shift-4 or Preview/Grab/Selection to capture screenshots, which worked great - capturing as png and saving to the desktop. However, now I just get a black coloured square captured with both methods. Capturing a window is fine, this just happens when it is a selection.
3 days ago I opened FCE to work on some video, and every single captured clip in any project I open simply appears as a gray screen with no audio or image. All clip info like names, in/out markers, etc is still there. I have not had any problems in the past couple years with the program, and have not made any changes to it or my computer recently.
As the title says, Quicktime is not showing video, just audio. I have 7.6 and searched for updates but saw nothing. Speaking of updates; updates that require me to restart freeze up when items are being installed. This has happened twice now. The first day I got my MBP (1/21/09) and tonight.
I am a new Mac user, and I bought a mac for the main purpose of video editing. However, all my files are MPEG2, and so far, I have had a very frustrating experience with trying to figure out how to play it back on Quicktime with Audio. I downloaded Pro, as well as the MPEG2 add on. It plays video fine, but can someone please tell me how to get it to play audio step by step?
Lastly, I have Final Cut and iTunes and audio won't play with the video there either. I am assuming once I have it fixed in quicktime, it will work in all other programs too?
Does the new Quicktime capture on screen video with sound? If not is there a way to do it? Other good reliable programs out there that do what I am looking for?
Is it supposed to do that or is it just a bug? Like when you click to seek further than 30 seconds, it pauses the video so you have to constantly press play to see what part of the video you are on. It's a bit annoying, and there's no preferences for it?
I am running a Macbook 2.4GHz with 4GB of RAM and Snow Leopard.
I have an issue using Keynote 09.
I have created a presentation that has a m4v video playing in the background.
The video was the first thing I put in and was just placed on the slide and set to play when the presentatation starts.
The video starts at the beginning automatically and plays for the entirity of the presentation. The presentation is only 2 mins long. Over it are a number of different words all with various animations. There is also a music file playing in the background.
I have then recorded the show with manual timings and now when I play it in Keynote it runs smoothly from start to finish. The video continues to play and the transitions are smooth.
HOWEVER, when I then try and export the presentation as a Quicktime file I encounter a problem. The video starts initially at the beginning of the presentation but the minute any other animation kicks in the video freezes and does not restart. I have tried a large variety of export settings but to no avail. I have also spent time trawling the internet to try and solve this problem but no solution found.
It is very frustrating. I need to export it because I need it as a movile file rather than a keynote presentation.
I have had this problem quite a while now:When I open an .avi file it automatically opens using QuickTime. I'd like that because it's the best player for Apple. The problem is however that I can only hear the sound, there's no image/video.I use 10.7.2. (now updating to 10.7.3), but it already did this before I had OSX Lion installed. If I search for new updates it doesn't come up with an update for QuickTime.Any other player works (although VLC's the only one I tried so far).
I have an upside down video that I try to keep flipping. I bought QuickTime Pro and the movie will appear fixed however everytime I upload the video is still upside down.
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.5.8)
With Quicktime X player, I read that performance for viewing content on the web would be faster - similar to iPhone. I understood that I can view streamed video - speeding up the experience of watching videos from various websites.
When will MobileMe enable this streaming so I can view my videos on MobileMe using the new client? Is it a matter of me to upgrade my videos that I post to the web site or do we need to wait till MobileMe service upgrades to this capability?
I just got my air today and everything is fine, but some standard def quicktime files (.mov) that played fine on my mac pro and windows netbook, for some reason play like a slideshow on the 11" air. They play perfectly in VLC however, anyone know why? I would not care but there for a school project... They are rather large for their quality (600mb for 3 min) they were exported from avid...
I just downloaded a .mpg video file and when I tried to open it in QT it said that the file could not be opened. Any way around this like a plugin or something?
I tried playing a video through Quicktime but there was no audio and the program said it needed a codec. Quicktime suggested that I download another progran (DivX player). I downloaded DivX but then the video still does not have any audio output. What will I do?
How can I put this. I have a fellow employee to states that it is impossible to produce HD quality QuickTime via via Windows 7. Is this an accurate statement?
In Quicktime Pro 7 I can capture either 640x480 or uncompressed. The uncompressed gives me to large files, while the 640x480 is to bad. My camera is HD 1080 and my capture need to be the same. But it have to record compressed like .mp4 or H264 or something.Â
The best way should be if I could capture for the vimeo-format without exporting after capturing. Is there I plug-in or something for Quicktime that allows me to choose the capture settings more than the default settings?
This is question is being posted in the Mac OS & System Software because I couldn't find Quicktime under Windows software. Quicktime Player works fine under XP Pro on one PC and my other XP Pro computer has Quicktime Pro. MOV video is washed out running with Quicktime Pro but also Realplayer's playback is washed out. All other image files display fine.
How can I view video clips downloaded from the internet ending in wmv on my Mac? I have Flip4mac and QuickTime but have been unsucccessful in watching clips. I am able to listen and watch on windows.Â
