In iPhoto (and I believe the previous iTunes) you are able to change the background color for the grid view from white to black. Is there any way to do so in iTunes 10?

I a few of my albums when I do a get info the inoirmqtion is in a light grey tone and I am unable to update any of the inform ation. Luckly they still play OK.

I keep iTunes open and running at all times and haven't noticed any issues all day today. I just went into it to play a track and when I opened the album from grid view, the tracks seem to be invisible. I can click on them and play them,If I view in List or Cover Flow views, tracks show up fine. It's only Grid view that has problems. While it does show the grid of album art correctly, it's just when opening an album that a problem occurs. And I've confirmed that it's only in music albums, both in the main library and playlists, but not so in the Grid view of TV Shows; that functions properly and shows episodes when opened.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an old 867 Mhz G4 MDD that I would like to be able to leave running 24/7 as a server, jukebox etc. Right now it's noisy (these things are legendarily loud) and power hungry. It won't have to work very hard. What could I do to make it efficient and quiet enough to run 24/7, without dumping a lot of $$$?
Obviously what I really need is a mac mini, but this will have to do.
I have a Vizio 22" HD monitor and it works great at 1680x1024 but don't know how to get those settings into my Macbook.
I have it hooked up via Mini-DVI to HDMI and the color is great, just wish I could get better settings. Seems like I am stuck with 1280x1024 else they are all interlaced and look like *****.
I have a Lacie External Hard Drive that I had been using with my Windows system.
Now, I decided to transfer some of my stuffs from my MBP to this Lacie External, however, it won't allow me. It keeps giving me warning that "Lacie External Hard Drive Cannot be modified".
I had tried to modify the "Lock" property from "Get Info" but its option is grayed out.. I am unable to change it..
Is there a way to make the size of the application grid bigger when clicking on my applications folder from the dock so that it doesn't have to say "x more in finder"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't really use automatic backup method, because I have a few computers in the network that I go back and forth. I used a Windows based syncing program to sync all computers of Documents, Music, Photos, etc., but it went corrupt. So I'm not gonna use that method anymore.
I don't like automatic backups because I need to access the only specific files from an external hard drive. When I modify a file and put it into an external hard drive, "Date Modified" section does not change. Which worries me that the drive is corrupt. (The drive was originally used on a Windows machine.) Before I go any further in backup my files, I want to format it based on a Mac since it's primary OS.
How should I go about this?
Is there a different format for Mac and Windows drives?
I want to start from scratch.
I still need to use it between two OSs.
I'm using Mac OS X 10.6. After copying some folders from external hard drive to PC these folders are now locked on Mac. There is no pencil in the Finder's lower left corner and there are no messages appear. I just simply can't open these folders.

when i click on an album in Grid view, the track names don't show up, and the "name" option doesn't appear in the column browser when you're choosing what to see.

How to add color back to the icons:
1. Quit iTunes
2. Download the itunes10color.zip from here.
3. Right-click the iTunes icon and select "show in finder"
4. In Finder, right-click the iTunes icon again and select "Show package details"
5. Open "contents" and locate the "resources" folder.
6. Replace the file "iTunes.rsrc" with the one downloaded
Short version:
Replace /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/iTunes.rsrc with the downloaded file
Both are confirmed to work on an Intel Mac running Snow Leopard
Hating the white. Did they or did they not bring back the black background option? if so, where do I find it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe issue i've been having - which i'll do my best to explain! - is when i load pages in safari, their always off grid..(??)For instance; there will be say, 3 columns but 2 of the columns have started to overlapp?! So basically if i'm reading a news article, all the ads down the side will cover up pretty much everyline so i can't read it. If it's boxes, sometimes a few have shifted and there's only half a picture or half a video.. It's a tedious problem but totally irritating! It never used to be like that and i don't think i've even changed anything! It's probably something really simple, i just don't know how to fix it

All my old office files have become "read only" and I cann ot modify and save w/o renaming. Is there a "blanket" way to change the Permissions to "read & write" for all my Office files? Idid not see a similar item in the FAQ's......
Also, when I open an Office application, I get the following message: "An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework library". How do I fix that?

The device should still work, but I can't find any software for it for the Mac. After going to the X-Rite web site, I could find no software at all for the Mac as it is only windows based.

Suddenly I am not able to modify the settings for any of my Smart Playlists. I am able to get to the update mode (command+i) however if I modify the smart parameters it does not save or change the results of the settings.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an external 750GB hard drive that I previously formatted as FAT 32 because I wanted to be able to plug it into Windows computers as well. I was not very thoughtful at the beginning and I just created one big 750GB partition. I currently have 450GB used and about 300GB free.
I would like to create a new partition in the free space without losing the data I have in the disk, and format the new partition as Mac OS Extended to use it for Time Machine backups. Presumably Disk Utility can do it, but when I go to the "Partition" tab it says "This partition cannot be modified" and the "+" sign below it is grayed.
I have a batch of HD video downloads in my iTunes Store queue that I can't delete. Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.

I have an 09 Mac Pro Nehalem, with nvida gt120 graphics card running 10.6.2 with the latest mac pro 1.4 efi and two 23 inch Apple cinema displays (the older DVI kind)
I go into system preferences>displays>color and try to adjust color on my monitors but selecting different color settings on either monitor only affects ONE monitor, the other monitor is essentially stuck at whatever color setting it is set to.
When starting the iMac in the mornings, the upper strip of the desktop appears in the screen color instead of white. What could this be?

(but not for a while) the main thing i want to do is something like this [URL] the second picture to last. the guy with a suit and a hat, being covered with the apple logo. i want something like that, only not that image. you get the idea though. where can i get something like this? are they stickers as well? or are they laser engraved? i do not want it permanent on my macbook, since i get easily bored with the same look

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is a weird one. For some strange reason, iTunes is unable to connect to the internet on both my Vista PC (I know, I know) AND my Mac AND MY iPod Touch! All my other internet-enabled applications on all my machines (PC, Mac) can connect just fine.
This is too weird. I'm wondering if my school is blocking iTunes, but seriously, that's the LAST thing they should be doing. iTunes is, you know, legit and legal.
