Two emails in my mailbox have two exclamation points (!!) in the flagged column. I was unable to find what this meant in the help doc or on google. I was wondering if someone on here might know what this means. The two emails were sent via forms on my websites so I imagine maybe that has something to do with it? Anyway, any insight on these crazy exclamation points.
View 4 RepliesI added all these songs into my new computer using my ipod. But when I took the ipod out, none of the songs work. They all have an exclamation point next to them. I know this means that there is no actual music file in my itunes folder. I tried to add them again, but had no success. I don't have my ipod anymore and I don't like all of those songs taking up space. Is there any way I can just delete the songs with the exclamation point next to them from my library and keep the rest of my music?
View 8 Replies View RelatedOSX's Mail.app used to display the actual colored flag in the (classic layout) viewer's flag column; visible and compact. I've noticed recently (since the iOSemite update?) that it displays the words (Red/Orange/ etc.) instead. With a narrow column that used to accommodate the flags, this now shows "R…/O…/ etc. instead. Since my Mail window is only a 1/2 screen wide, there is simply no room for an inch-wide column.
Is there a way to make Mail show the actual flags in that column, rather than the verbose names of the flags?
If not, I can of course rename the flags into a single-character name, so it fits

This is SO frustrating. I bring in my new iMac for the techs to move my iTunes over, I bring it home and have not been able to listen to one song. I double click on it and it says "Cannot find file, locate?" I say yes, it brings me to the album artwork. I am not at all comfortable yet with the iMac environment so need step by step instructions!

I'm supposed to graph a set of data points for a project, which I have done, but when I export the graph as an image, the data points aren't there. I think this might have to do with getting rid of the line connecting them (which I am not supposed to have). Is there a way to keep the data points visible in the exported image?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working with cylindrical coordinates (r, theta, z), and I decided to test some simple graphs before I began working. The first graph I tested was r = 3 which should have yielded a cylinder, but I got a sphere instead as if I had graphed the equation in spherical coordinates! I decided to create a point set to see whether the app could plot cylindrical coordinates correctly by creating points with r = 3, and the points seemed to form a cylinder. So apparently, grapher can plot correctly in cylindrical coordinates, but not graph.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI finally went out and bought iLife '09. So far it was great, I love iMovie, but I opened iPhoto because I needed to grab a couple pictures for an iDVD menu. I clicked on an event, and I saw all the photos in that event. All good. But when I go to click on a photo, it gives me a big blurry exclamation mark I looked into it further, and it seems like all of my events from 2007, and only 2007, are corrupted like this. What happened? Can I recover the photos?

When i open a album and click a picture to enlarge it, instead of it enlarging a big black exclamation point comes up with a grey circle around it? View 3 Replies View RelatedEarlier today I copied my iPhoto library file and the iPhoto prefs file to from my Mac Pro to my MacBook (using Chronosync's "mirror" option), for a week away from home.
I've now come to using iPhoto on my MacBook, and noticed that the thumbnails for my modified pictures had reverted to thumbnails of the originals. Clicking on any of these modified images just brings up a large exclamation mark on a grey circle background.
I know that this normally means that iPhoto cannot find the relevant file in the library (usually because someone's been messing around in the library - which I haven't; I took a mirror image), but the odd thing is if I click on "Edit", the image I'm then presented with is the modified image, so it's still there and iPhoto damn well knows it.
I've tried opening iPhoto with alt-opt to get it to rebuild everything, but it hasn't made any difference.
I have the weirdest problems. Every once and a while when I receive a new email, the text of the email is from a year prior. It is the weirdest thing. Anyone know what the deal is and how to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI browsed the threads on this and many sites before I thought I'd report back on my day with iPhoto - just so that those of you out there can benefit.Basically, and for those noobs that don't know the gen, iPhoto and iTunes both have an interface that work on showing you what you have by way of thumbnail or album sleeve image - then, upon selecting, linking your requirement to see or listen to the actual file itself buried somewhere else.This is a great system for a number of great reasons - that is until your links break. You see a thumbnail of a picture of uncle Bob you want to see so you double click it. You are rewarded not with a high rez image of Bob but instead a rather unimaginative and rude exclamation mark (exclamation point for you Americans). The link is broken - you have an orphaned file. It might not be lost or deleted - in fact it is probably still somewhere on your machine or external drives etc.

I don't know if my gmail accounts were hacked or if their implementation of "Priority Inbox" just trashed all my messages older than 35 days. I've changed my password and disabled Priority Inbox. I have a .txt file that is quite long and I need to get some data off of it. The file is made up of a few thousand lines each with a format similar to: 1 2.4 5.4 abcde abc.def, The 1, the 2.4, the 5.4, etc each signify a different value and I need to somehow get them into separate columns into excel. The number of digits in everything except the first value (which is always one digit) varies, and all the values are separated by spaces. What is going to be the easiest way for me to get these values into numbers in separate columns? Realistically, doing this manually isn't an option.

I can send emails, without any problems...but I can't RECEIVE any emails, at all. All of a sudden.
On the left bottom corner, I can see, receiving 1 of 4, and after 1 min, the bar is gone, and I cannot get any emails at all.
When I login to the webmail (abc.com/webmail for instance), I can find there're 4 emails sitting there "unread"
May I know what's the problem? and how to fix it? because I want to be able to receive the mails from MAIL instead of logging in to webmail all the time.
I have an issue with my Apple Mail. I've configured my server's email on it. Now it works all fine when I setup a new account; I can easily send and receive emails.
However, after I quit the application, and reopen it, I can ONLY send emails! I don't receive any emails!
I just downloaded the new itunes 10, and the first thing I noticed was the "album by artist" column under the music library. I don't like it at all. I want to remove it, but I can't! I'm not talking about the "album artist" column. This is totally new with the iTunes 10. When I try to remove it by, it only gives me the option of sort and artwork.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAfter a few months mild use on OS X I'm starting to get used to it more and more now. I love the column view, but find it really annoying that occasionally new finder windows will open in Icon view. What exactly is the point of the finder preference "always open new windows in column view"? It sounds pretty straight forward, but finder doesn't exactly pay much attention to it. When I'm viewing in column view and I command-double click a folder, finder will open a new window in Icon view, depsite my preference. I have to reset the new window to column view and then close it, and then when I repeat the command-double click it will open in column view but it kinda defeats the point. I've read numerous posts about finder not remembering views, I don't understand also why there's only an option for column view? why isn't there "always open in list view" or "always open in icon view" option?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to iworks and have trying to figure this one out for a while. I used a template to set up financial info and calculate how much was spent on items. This was the preset formula: =SUMIF(Transactions :: $Category,A2,Transactions :: Amount)
However, I only want the sum from a particular range of dates (e.g. 9/1/09 to 9/30/09, as in cells B2:B10) so I can budget accordingly. In excel, you just grab the highlighted corner and drag it to where you want- here I can't do that and it won't let me add any more "conditions". Any idea how to remedy this? It's driving me nuts. On a side note, I am NOT a programmer so programming language will unfortunately not help unless you get VERY specific about how to do it (which you probably don't want to do).
I have about 20 playlists. I want to apply the column formatting (including widths and orders) of the main itunes music library to these playlists. Is there a way to do this? I cannot do it manually.
