Jan 10, 2011I changed the icon to an image I found online and because of the app store icon. I think I want to change it back because it looks good with the it. So, how do I do this?

View 2 RepliesLike many here I am a reasonably 'savvy' user but have got very grey over the past week or so. I run an aged and trusted G4 and took a number of decisions recently - to add a second HD, to upgrade to Leopard from Tiger, to upgrade to the 2008 Mac Office and to install CS4 (all legal).
I am getting major problems with the machine hanging up and believe that it is to do with Leopard and CS4 (the latter of which I wish to remove). So, the nub of my question is whether I can revert the machine to Tiger and if so, how!
Lately I've been messing around with changing a lot of the standard Mac OS X icons like the "Macintosh HD", "iPod", and "Downloads" icons. If, for some reason, I decide to revert back to the original icons.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a G5 with 10.4.11. There is 3 partitioned drives that I want gone and set back to the original 1 drive. I just cant seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. I don't need anything on the Mac as I have already backed up all info I wanted saved. When I go into the disk utilities/partitions/volume scheme it shows 3 drives. When I switch the volume scheme to 1 partition their are no options to "apply" for me to revert to 1 partition only.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy iMac is fairly old. It's one of the white ones that has the isight and mic. I don't remember the generation. For basic typing and internet needs it's still runs great! However since I updated to snow leopard I've found alot of my software isn't compatible, thus I want to revert to tiger. Atleast with Tiger my software works.

Now I need to take the slide show back to colour, And the only way i can find is to go back to original un doing all the work I done in raw format. I saved everything in k peg. But the works had gone in the raw files, We need a way to step back after the presses on raw. From black and white back to colour, without having to revert to originals.

I installed iTunes 10 and hated the new icon so I replaced it with a different one but now I want to switch it back but no longer have the original. Can someone please make a copy of it and upload it for me. To access it just right click iTunes and click ' Show Package Contents' then 'Contents' and then 'Resources'.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAbout every 10 days or so when I boot up ITunes, it reverts to a Generic Library. In other words, it boots up as a new copy of ITunes, with my library, settings, Genius settings, etc., gone. Fortunately, I backup my computer regularly and am able to restore my Itunes library from backup, but it is annoying to have to do this. I am running Windows 7, with ITunes version 10.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have used iTunes to organize my media files for years and have never had any issues until recently. I'm currently using iTunes 10.6.1 (7) and have 98,000 music files (over 600 GB). My iTunes library is set to my local disk but the large majority of my media files are stored on an external hard drive. In iTunes, when I click on "Get Info" and attempt to change the tag info on a file stored on the external hard drive, it reverts back to the original track info as soon as the track is played and doesn't save any of the changes I made to the tag. However, if I change the tag info on a file stored on the local disk, the changes are saved with no problem. I am not interested in storing my iTunes library on my local disk and need to be able to edit the files on the external drive without having to move them back and forth.

I loved the Genius Recommendation Panel on iTunes 9 and found lots of new songs and artists when using itI cannot believe Apple removed it from iTunes 10 and replaced it with a social networking site with the awful title "Ping"
So I replaced iTunes 9 last night, only to find that it wouldn't accept my iTunes library. I managed to reload the songs, but I have lost all my playlists, star ratings, play counts, etc. Its all gone.
I recently installed iFlicks, which seemed to install some Scripts into Itunes and add this menu option. I have since removed iFlicks using appzapper, yet it has not been removed. I also looked in library/iTunes/ and found no folder with scripts or anything similar. My last attempt has been to install iFlicks again and uninstall, but to no avail.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was grabbing the iTunes 8 icon from its .app, and found the icon remains unchanged since iTunes 7.
It says "Apple 2006", "iTunes 7", "?20806". (Attached)
It's not that important by the way, because I don't see icons in full 512x512. Even in 512x512 it's not noticeable. (That's why this is a trivia.)
I just moved my iTunes library from my laptop to my desktop. When I started itunes I noticed my applications had the name of the application but was missing the icon, i.e. showed an application icon and labeled below it was Pandora but was missing the Pandora icon. My music and movies were just fine. I right clicked on the file and selected get info. it returned "could not find original". I tried to sync and it deleted the applications from my iTouch. I see the application's icon when I bring up iTunes on my laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI moved my iTunes media folder to an external hard drive to free up space on my iMac's hard drive. The new one is located on a hard drive attached to my Airport Express. Since then, I keep getting messages stating that certain items weren't copied to my iPhone because the originals couldn't be found. When I check, the iTunes media folder has reverted to the location on my iMac's main hard drive.
How can I prevent this? At best this is annoying, but it also is using up hard drive space unnecessarily. Is this behavior avoidable, or is it something that goes with the territory when you move your media folder to an external hard drive?

iTunes backs everything up from your iPhone that way if you want to do a restore and get everything back such as things done in apps that don't save to the cloud.
Problem I'm finding is what if I get a new computer and sell the old computer that has iTunes with the back ups of my device?
If I were to plug my iPhone to the new computer and iTunes pop up, would it take everything from the iPhone and put it on iTunes AND THEN do a backup?
i recently installed itunes version 8 on my mac, everything was alright until i went to update the software on my iphone. i did some searching and read that version 8 wont let you install the iphone software. i want to go back to version 7.7.1 of itunes but whenever i try to install it, i get this error message: "You cannot install iTUNES on this volume. View 1 Replies View RelatedI was just checking out podcasts in the iTunes store now and noticed that they are all grayed out, and that I can't subscribe to any.
I figure this has to do with the fact that I must have removed podcasts from my sidebar at some point.
So I go into preferences to find all of the checkboxes, but podcasts is greyed out there too Therefore I am unable to check it. The only other greyed out option is genius but I'm ok with that
Well my external crashed so I am trying to restore my library back from my iPod but I don't want to start with new metadata. Is there a program out there that automatically places the music file in the exact place iTunes is looking for? Also is a straight copy and past from the iPod itself the best way to recover my music, or should I use a program? The reason I ask is I don't want to lose anything like artwork, tags or lyrics.
View 6 Replies View Related I'm trying to change my icons in mac. I've been using Liteicon for this, but since (apparently) you can't change the iTunes icon using it, I tried doing it by going to the applications folder, selecting iTunes, going to "get info" and then dragging the new icon to the top left corner where the iTunes icon is.
Problem is, it won't change. The cursor will change into a cursor with a little green ball with a + in it, but there is no effect. I tried unlocking the lock on the bottom right side of the window, made no difference.
I've googled this and searched this forum for a couple of hours, got nothing.
By the way, I changed the Firefox icon the same exact way, no problem. I'm running as an admin as well.
Alright, so on iTunes I had a playlist with songs on them. I deleted it, then synced my iPad to it. Now that playlist isn't on iTunes or the iPad. How do I get the playlist back?

How to add color back to the icons:
1. Quit iTunes
2. Download the itunes10color.zip from here.
3. Right-click the iTunes icon and select "show in finder"
4. In Finder, right-click the iTunes icon again and select "Show package details"
5. Open "contents" and locate the "resources" folder.
6. Replace the file "iTunes.rsrc" with the one downloaded
Short version:
Replace /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/iTunes.rsrc with the downloaded file
