I just heard about leopard docks but can't find the app anywhere and the website seems to be gone. What happened? I'm basically looking for an easy way to change my dock and a few other things. Cant seem to figure it out in candy bar.
I upgraded to Snow Leopard on saturday... had no problems or issues at all... I wanted to change my dock yesterday... so i opened up CandyBar... it prompted me to download the newest version... so i did and replaced the old one... then went to change my dock and it converted my dock back to the original stock one and will not change to any other docks is anyone else having this issue? any suggestions on how to fix it?
Would it be possible to move windows to the "dock bar" when I click on another window? I know it is possible to move it to the docks when we click on the yellow "-" button, but what I want is that it automatically puts itself to the dock when I navigate away from a window. Just like in Windows. Like I want all my windows to be in the docks. It's very annoying having to search for the opened windows.
Just looking for something to keep my desk more organized. I really like the mStand [URL], but it would be great if someone knew of something similar for the MBA. Or, alternatively, how the MBA looks on that stand.
I've been looking for a solution to have more than just the one Dock: I'd like to have one on each monitor with different applications contained in each. I've discovered Dock Spaces which allows you to have upto 10 different Docks. More importantly, it integrates with Spaces to allow you to have a different Dock in each Space. This is the first time I've had a Mac with two monitors connected, and I've never used Spaces before so please bear with me. Would I be able to have Space 1 displayed on the first monitor and Space 2 on the second monitor? If that's possible, I could then use Dock Spaces to have a Dock on each monitor, yes?
It's great setting up different Desktops, each with different background photos, to separate my apps/uses and feel like I have three or four 27" screens, one for each category of application. What would make it even better, is if the apps that showed up in the dock matched the Desktop I was in, instead of showing the same whole row of apps across the dock, in every screen. Is it possible to set up different Docks to match different Desktops?
Is it possible to have separate docks; one on my MacBook, and one for my Cinema Display? I like the side dock for my MacBook, but want the bottom dock when using my MacBook on the Cinema display.
is there a way yet to make my dock clear? for 10.5, i figured out how to change the docks appearance by messing with the scurve files but i cant figure out how to make it so theres not background at all.. if there was like a clear.gif i might be able to tile it. any ideas?
I'm writing this on Windows using Boot Camp on my Macbook.
My Mac does not want to go into Mac OSX 10.5.3
It says various programs did not launch, such as dock, finder, iCal helper, and others. I can only get to the wallpaper, I can't see the menu bar, dock, or icons.
I was thinking that Apple should let us have multiple docks that we use in our multiple spaces. So in one "Space" you could have a "work dock" which has all your applications for school or work such as Safari, iWork/MS Office. Then in another "space" you could have a dock for "Play dock" which has iTunes, Safari, iChat, Photo Booth, iLife or any computer games you have on your Mac.
I have a second user on my Mac Snow Leopard. I have the calculator in my Applications and Dock...he doesn't. How can I get this for the second user? (I recently upgraded with the disc to Snow Leopard..could that be part of the problem?)
I just want some advice on what freeware applications i should install for Leopard that would make using my macbook better. Any freeware applications that you would recommend that you use on a daily basis?
I'm currently using a MBP 13 inch and am running Leopard on it.
I just bought a copy of snow leopard today but i don't know if I should do a direct upgrade from leopard to snow leopard, or wipe my MBP and do a fresh install so i have snow leopard on a clean slate.
Have any of you tried the second option before? Or do any of you have advice on which path I should take?
I thought it might be useful to compile a list of apps we know won't work on Leopard (in case there are any mission-critical apps people need that won't work) and details of when updates are due (if known). The list so far is on MacRumors Guides here. add further updates there as well as posting in the thread (preferably if you have confirmed directly with the developer regarding compatibility and an expected fix date, if any).
What is good software that will show me what someone is typing in OS X? I know they make software for this in windows, but what can I use in OS X? I'd like it to not show anything on the other computer if possible. The computers are networked.
Will CS3 design premium install and run relatively smoothly on a brand new snow leopard mac? I primarily use illustrator, photoshop, and indesign, in that order. I'll either be getting an imac or mac mini. I've seen a lot of conflicting information regarding this, everything from "I can't even get it installed" to "it works stupendously!" So, what's the deal? And will I be able to use a new wacom tablet with this set up?
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)
using a newsreader, preferably one which supports NZBs, under Leopard? I've been using iGrabnews until today, but can't get the latest version to work under Leopard.
Is anyone running PhotoShop Elements 4.0 on Leopard? I installed Leopard last week only to discover that PhotoShop Elements 2.0 won't even launch anymore. Adobe says Elements 4.0 isn't designed for Leopard. But, I'm now desperate for photo editing software. I've got about 5 years of learning invested in PhotoShop Elements. So, I'd prefer not to have to learn a new package.
I'm going to try out Acorn to see if I can get it to work. I downloaded Pixelmator. It looks sharp! But, the brother who designed it seem to have gone missing and their forums report many and major bugs when running it on Leopard (even though it was supposedly designed for Leopard). I just need basic functionality to save pictures for my website. Just a lasso tool to drop out the backgrounds, change the contrast and brightness and to be able to save to .gifs and jpegs.
I would like to use the Notepad++ on my new Mac, I found out (after a lot og Googling) that I need and Mac version of the Wine - the Darwine to be able to run it. So I got the 1.1.7 version of the Darwin form HERE After the installation I have the Darwine folder inside the Applications and it contains:
Afterwards I got the Notepad++ from HERE. I downloaded the executable file (npp.5.1.3.Installer.exe) Now - my understand it about how to run the Notepad++ correctly is following:
1) Run the Wine.Bundle 2) Click "Choose the application" 3) Do so
- But just I can not choose the "npp.5.1.3.Installer.exe". - If I just run the npp.5.1.3.Installer.exe direcly via clickung on it - it crashes - If I try to run the WineHelper - it also crashes ....
I know that ClamAV is one of the better anti-virus programs out there for Mac OS X, but I hate having to use the terminal every time that I want to run a scan. Does anyone know of a comparable anti-virus program that is reliable and that has actually caught anything that is harmful to the Mac OS? I don't mind paying for a program that I know for sure works (I already have Little Snitch and love that program).
I just opened up Activity Monitor to force quit an app, and to my surprise I have two processes that are running as 64-bit. I thought this was a Snow Leopard thing?
I am finding that it is tough (if actually possible) to run the Classic Environment with Leopard on Intel-based Macs. However, I have an iBook G4 from mid-2005 that came with Panther. I upgraded to Leopard, and so lost the capability of running Mac Classic.I recently bought a study book for a college exam, but the software it came with requires Mac Classic, which I cannot run. Is there a simple way of making this work? I tried SheepShaver, but I couldn't figure out how to make that do anything useful
I want to upgrade to Snow Leopard from Tiger 10.4.11. But I want to know which of the apps I have will work on Leopard to be sure that I want to upgrade. Which of these apps work on Snow Leopard? means I need this app to work in order for me to upgrade, so tell me if these apps with this mark don't work on Snow Leopard!
