Intel Mac :: Saved A Video Clip To Iphoto Then To A Flash Drive, 2 PC Users Unable To View Clip?
Apr 28, 2012I own a Sony Cyber-shot camera, and a 24 inch IMAC computer. I took a short video clip and downloaded it to Iphoto (no problem doing that). I then downloaded the clip to a 4 gpb flash drive, as an mp4 video. My problem is that my friends Microsoft based PC can't play it.

Apr 20, 2009Does anyone know if it's 'safe' for me to run mpeg streamclip converting files for pretty much 8 hours each day continuously.
I only ask because my new mbp 17 fans died within a month and I want to be sure that there's nothing I did to contribute to it.
I have fan control and the mbp runs at 60-ish degrees C with the fans at around 3k.This level of usage is not thrashing it too much is it?

Nov 23, 2007-Downloaded a movie from a torrent site (Dont shoot me, I rented it like 6 times)...
-After download was complete, i opened it up...
-it was an .mp4 file and it played in Quicktime and I could see it AND hear it, everythings' fine...
-I drag the file into iMovie HD...
-After the clip (or movie) was imported I played it and it doesn't show video, i can only hear it.
ive been wondering what it could be, i upgraded to quicktime pro to try and convert it to .mov and still, same thing happened...

Jun 11, 2010When I import video from my Creative's Vado HD Pocket Video camcorder on a month old MacBook Pro the video files in each event are black. They have no image. When I click on them I can see the video but I would prefer to see an image which makes identifying each video much easier.

Jun 2, 2010I purchased an Intel 34nm 160GB SSD 12 months ago to install in my MBP 13". It has been an excellent drive, however, started to significantly slow down over the last few months. The only way I was able to recover to original speeds was by formatting the entire drive as a windows drive and running the Intel SSD Toolbox app in Win 7 (manual trim command).Finally I reinstalled OSX and voila drive was as fast as when I initially purchased it.Either Intel needs to release a OSX compatible toolbox app or Apple needs to build the functionality into OSX.I know this has been a topic before but thought I'd share my experience.

Mar 1, 2012I need to rip a project from DVD I did a while back. But every time I try to Export the VS file to Quicktime I get the following message "Error: Can't Create The MOV File". I'm using the latest version of Lion on an Intel Mac Pro, along with MPEG Streamclip 1.9 3b7. I have checked that I have all the MPEG2 Components installed (Apple MPEG2 CODEC.component & Quicktime MPEG2 Component).
I checked out the MPEG Streamclip website and followed their instructions to install the components again from my Final Cut Studio Disks but when I double click the PKG file from my original Final Cut Studio disk I can't use it as it was for a PowerPC application. I have the upgrade disks for Final Cut Studio 3 but these don't hold the necessary PKG's! The thing is, my Quicktime 7 is the PRO version. So, should this not mean that I should be able to convert files using MPEG Streamclip?

Oct 21, 2010I was watching Apple's event on quicktime , and the whole 1:30 hour show streamed with no pre-downloading on my slow internet connection(512kbs at best) while youtube videos of 5 and 10 min will take very long time to load, actually they won't stream ever, all the time they will need to be downloaded at first, this goes for html5 AND flash. what is this technology apple is using to stream video? Why can't other websites utilize it as it is much more convenient? can you benefit using it on your own personal website?

Sep 4, 2014I did a shoot with audio on a green screen stage. I have some video clips of my actors shot on a RED Scarlett in 4K 29.97.I have audio clips recorded on a Zoom H4 with a boom mic at 16 bit 44.1 khz.
I take the 2 clips in FCP X and I create a synchronized clip. The video clip doesn't have an audio channel so I have to manually sync using the slate. I have the correct audio clip and the correct video clip, but the audio clip is longer than the video clip. It's just running a tad slower than the video clip. I tried creating a project in 44.1khz instead of 48khz and FCP X didn't treat it any differently.

Mar 12, 2009I'm not too technically savvy when it comes to computers. I do amateur video editing with Final Cut Pro. I purchased a Mac Mini (2.0ghz, 1GB RAM, base model) and it's taking forever to render my 1.8gb clip. I think total render time with some music is about 1.5 hours as opposed to my old computer (a 2.4ghz penryn mbp, 2gb ram) which would do it in maybe 10 minutes I'd assume. My question to you all is, is my unit defective? Will upping the ram increase the clock speed or am I way in over my head purchasing this unit?

I re-start FCP, my Mac (I use a new MacBook Pro that works seamlessly).I run latest Mavericks OS.The only different thing that happened otherwise is I got some TuneUpMyMac freeware on my Mac when I restart which I never chose to get and cannot delete this because it doesn't show up and I am concerned it is a virus that is messing up FCP

Talking about wild audio tracks not directly related to video clips.
I find I want to attach a particular audio clip to a different video clip (given that without tracks it has to be attached to SOMETHING). Is there a way to move an audio clips affiliation to an alternate video clip? Especially without having to drag it out of place to do so?
Which leads to another question: is there any way to freeze an audio clip in place?

Final Cut Pro X :: Primary Story Line Clip / When Synchronizing Multiple Audio To One Video
Jun 3, 2014When I sync one audio file with one video file the video file is always placed in the primary storyline and the audio file is always placed under it. And the new syncronised clip is named afte the video file.
when I sync multiple audio files to one video file. It seems to be random what file endsup in the primary storyline of the new compound clip, most of the time is seems to be one of the audio files. This is troublesom as the syncing acuracy is then limited to the frame as the smallest incrament of adgustment. Also, it menas I have to manualy change the names of my now syncronised clips as the names are not consistant making sorting dificult. (This all results in a lot of time spent fixing this behavoir and realy dampens the advantages of the sync feature.)
the video should not be the primary track in a new syncrosnised compound clip and I can't find any link between my behavoir and the resulting choise of which tile is the primary sortyline track.
