Dec 16, 2010
its a dumb question so sry. but is there any way i can stream videos from my Terabyte to my MBP. like suppose im downstairs (my desktop upstairs), is it possible to watch movies on my MBP- like stream them somehow?
I was watching Apple's event on quicktime , and the whole 1:30 hour show streamed with no pre-downloading on my slow internet connection(512kbs at best) while youtube videos of 5 and 10 min will take very long time to load, actually they won't stream ever, all the time they will need to be downloaded at first, this goes for html5 AND flash. what is this technology apple is using to stream video? Why can't other websites utilize it as it is much more convenient? can you benefit using it on your own personal website?
Am I able to stream video to my xbox in clamshell mode? I don't have an external display, mouse or keyboard connected. Right now I just turn the screen off, but I'd like to close the lid.
I am interested in purchasing a 15" macbook pro (unless someone has a compelling reason why a 17" would be better suited to my needs). My primary concern is battery life and capacity decay over time. This computer will be used to produce photo and video content primarily at football games, and need the battery to last about 4 hours (absolutely no less than 3) under intense and constant use to include some pre/post-game content. My needs from a laptop: Store 21mp RAW photos in real timeStore 1080p video in real timeEdit live 480i video feed from 3 cameras, output as low-res stream to web
I am not a huge fan of reality TV, but recently tuned in to an episode of Gene Simmons Family Values only to she Gene's daughter log on to a computer to view a streaming video from her Apple Notebook to see who was taking items from their kitchen.
I would love to be able to set up my Apple to view what in the world my bird, a large Macaw, is doing throughout the day to get nuts and seed some 10 feet or so from her cage. She is a great bird and doesnt scream or bite, but she is a trip and loves to joke around.
With Quicktime X player, I read that performance for viewing content on the web would be faster - similar to iPhone. I understood that I can view streamed video - speeding up the experience of watching videos from various websites.
When will MobileMe enable this streaming so I can view my videos on MobileMe using the new client? Is it a matter of me to upgrade my videos that I post to the web site or do we need to wait till MobileMe service upgrades to this capability?
I have to work tonight and wont be able to watch a hockey game tonight that is going to be streamed live. I am still new to mac so I dont know if it is possible, but I was wondering if there is a way that I could save the stream to my computer so I can watch it later.
I have been having my mbp for a while already. My brother recently send me a link to a live stream video, but I wasn't able to go in to watch. However, he was able to watch it on his PC. I wondered if anyone have experience that? and what can I do?
I am planning to build a home theater PC by using the Mac Mini, I am mainly going to be using it on stream video and BT. Will I be restricted to browse any website, to download and open movie/song files, or to watch live stream video?
I have had my Powerbook G4 running 10.4 for three years and have had few problems but now all of a sudden I cannot stream video. The playback is very choppy and a lot of frames are getting dropped.
Youtube will work sometimes but Vimeo, Hulu, [URL] are all too choppy to watch. I know these video streams all work on my friends old PC and that I have streamed all of them on my computer before so I dont understand what the problem is.
Also, I have been noticing that occasionally (not frequently) my computer will freeze up for a minute and the colored wheel will spin. This is unusual but I thought nothing of it until I noticed this video problem.
I know how to do it on Youtube and other sites but for a live video stream I know it's a different process, but I don't know what that process is. Could you do it with Quicktime Pro? (which I own)
Does anyone know any apps out there that can stream live video and audio to the internet so that visitors to my website can see what my webcam is broadcasting?
Im currently using MediaLink software to stream my music and videos to ps3. But i am not able to stream my itunes video purchases which are on m4v format. ps3 shows that its a corrupt file.
a short question to the experts out there. I wanna capture the following kick-ass web-exclusive live performance by Jenny & Johnny on my hard disk:
[URL]
I want to achieve this in the best quality possible, meaning that the best thing would preserving the quality (which already is very compressed, of course) 100%. The final format would be mp4 to include it to my iTunes library, so the best thing would be a direct convert without an AVI-step or something like that between.
I have an iMac and an ACD monitor connected, therefore I have no open port to connect to my 37" Panasonic LCD.
I'd like to connect the TV to my iMac somehow, I'm wondering if wireless is a (reliable) possibility. If so how do I go about it?
Do I buy a 'media router', such as the D-Link DSM-750? Then simply plug the TV's HDMI port into the D-Link? (I'm not network savvy at all.) Sounds simple enough if that's the case....
Are there any better ways, or better products that I can use to play divx files wirelessly to my TV?
Also, I'm using an Apple Airport Extreme Time Capsule, would the D-Link replace this or could I (easily) hook it up to my Apple router?
I read the computer saves live streaming video (Eg playing yutube) somewhere on the disk. Can anyone tell me short of downloading some program which will do it, how i can use what i already have to access this stream on my macbook unibody ?
Ive tried saving online streaming with VLC but didnt work and other free or demo programs didnt capture the sound so be grateful for any ways simply utilising my mac and terminal to get these streams !
so I've been having difficulties with my safari lately and emptied my cache yesterday to see if it would start running faster and it seemed to have worked, untill tonight that is. Now my safari is unable to load websites with video streaming. It will load the site, and then the page goes blank as soon as it fully loads.
i basically want to stream video from my isight while i am dj'ing live. i have the audio from the mixer being fed into the powermac via a usb sound card.

I have an Airport Extreme with a external hard drive connected to it. I have video on it and would like to be able to watch it on my computer wirelessly. This works to a point but becomes choppy and skips a lot... what can I do to fix this. My computer is a new MBP so it is going through a n connect..
I just went to a Apple store and tried a HD episode of CSI Miami on both a 1.6 HDD and 1.8 SSD.
After a while I realized the graphics was more blocky on 1.6 than the 1.8. No matter what I checked and stopped I could not change it. No other program was running, I let ot rest etc but still it had more choippy graphics.
And yes, I made sure it was rev B not rev A...
Btw, they both had 'the lines'.
If graphics is determined by the graphic card and they both have the same how come the video was not the same quality? Is it really the .26 GHz that made the difference???
I was almost ready to go for a 1.6 HDD but now I have to reconsider.
