I just bought a new iMac... but a friend of mine has a MacBook Pro (which already came with Comic Life installed). I was just wondering if there was a way to copy that application to my iMac??? If so, can anyone tell me how to do that?

I'm having trouble formatting the page to the same size as some reference books I'm using (Watchmen, a couple of other paperbacks the same size). I have computed the page format size based on the 72 pts per inch to what appears to be the standard 10.25 x 6.625, but when it prints it's significantly smaller.
I realize I need to create the book in a format size that will be available with the book on demand printing I anticipate using- The Watchmen book appears to be roughly 10.25x 6.625, the size listed on Lulu for Comic book size. How to set up comic life page to be same size?
Is there a simple way for me to copy my photos in my Iphoto so that I can put them on my wife's macbook? I want to keep them on mine also but she is wanting them too. I could just download to her computer from the camera they were taken on but they would not be edited and I want her to have the edited version.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am backing stuff up to an external drive (G-Raid 1TB, if that matters), and the process will randomly stop and not allow me to cancel out the copy process once it does so. I have had multiple problems with many drives (lacie and g-raid) in the past before, on different machines (G5 tower, mac pros, intel imacs, etc) so for some reason in my head I figure it as random. I'm guessing there's a hiccup somewhere.
They're all formatted correctly to handle large files, and I know it's not good, but if it hangs up and I pull power or shut down, it'll unfreeze and remount (about 80% of the time success rate, 20% of the time it wont even show up, not even in disk utility). This also occurs when I am going from external drive to external drive and internal drive to external drive. It seems very random. And finder seems to stall out too (like it is now) and when I try to relaunch it, it will not come back until one of the drives that is causing the problem is disconnected from the computer.
I couldn't find anything useable on Google. I'd like to convert a pdf to a cbz format. But I'd prefer a single piece of software that could do it in one step. I'd be willing to use something that automatically breaks the pages of a pdf into separate images, then go from there.

Before, when I chose to play the file on itunes, it used to simply link (or source) the file from the hard drive, but recently it started copying the file to the iTunes folder (on my computer). This is very frustrating because I simply don't have enough space in my computer to have contain all these HD videos. Is there any way to have it linking to my files rather than having it copy over?

I have a Mac Pro with several raid array and single drives attached (1x Wiebetech RTX600 Raid 5 through SCSI; 1x CalDigit HDElement Raid 5 through miniSAS; 4x internal drives).Unfortunately, due to various reasons (electricity outtage and software crashes), I'm experiencing system crashes and need to hard re-start the system. Upon restart, I am able to boot back into Mac OS X, but sometimes one, or both of the raid arrays will not mount.However, after a period of 0.5 - 2 hours, the array would magically re-appear again. Sometimes this might even happen to internal drives that I had mounted inside the chassis of the Mac Pro.

Is there a way to set the priority of a certain process in OSX? Whenever i'm rendering something in Final Cut Pro or any other program, it slows down the whole system (duh), but whenever i'm doing something under windows (rendering 3D or whatever) I can turn down the the priority in the task manager (where would windows be without CTRL+ALT+DELETE) so the whole system doesent slow down to a crawl and I can contunue to do other things while the system is busy rendering. I know it will take a little longer to render depending on whatever else im doing, but i hate slowdowns so much (especially a slow dock).
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell I just switched over to Macs on sunday with a new MacBook. Coming from Windows XP theres two things I miss and I want to know if there are any applications to chnage this:
1) In OS X you can only resize windows from the bottom right corner which gets kind of annoying. In Windows XP you can resize from any corner including the sides with that little black adjuster arrow, is there any program or any way I can naturally do something similiar in OS X?
2) I want my Dock to be more like the Start Bar in Windows XP. Meaning that I want all my programs to stop at the Dock on the bottom. Some program automatically stop at the Dock and can't be pulled down behind the Dock, such as iPhoto. Other programs however, such as iTunes, can be pulled down behind the dock and I don't like that. Is there any way I can naturally change this or any application I can download?
i'm trying to use gimp on my new macbook and the toolbox window has moved into a position where the bottom corner is off the bottom of the screen. i therefore cannot resize it! i've been googleing everything i can think of but cannot find an answer on how to resize this (i have tried a few solutions which only seem to apply to regular osx apps). i am more than willing to set the window sizes in some sort of a config file, but i can't find one.

I think everything is syncing fine but the process takes so goddamn long that I'm wondering if it's normal. The first sync took like 5 hours just as I expected because I have a lot of files. I thought all syncs following that would be shorter, because the program would only look for the changed files right? But it looks like it's analyzing every file again.

I was going to use the app "Burn" to burn it, but the Video_TS is currently too large to be brunt to a DVD. I need to compress it first. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have automator running a weekly task of making a copy of a 10gb folder (database) and into copying 2 (120 seconds) minutes of the 10 minutes it is going to take automator comes back with an error "Finder got an error" Connection is invalid. I know its the size of the folder as i ran it on a different folder and ran successfully. How can i extent the "timeout" period of when it is copying a folder? it needs at least 10 minutes to copy 10gb.
