I just switched from a PC to a Mac and I can't get my work VPN Client Cisco to work.
I installed version 4.9.01 (0100) of the VPN Cisco Client. I succesfully imported my pcf file that I was using under windows.
When I'm trying to connect I type in the right login name and password and after trying to secure the connection, the VPN says 'Not Connected'
So I was using the older CISCO VPN client and now need the CISCO Anyconnect client as well. Anyconnect would not install, it kept telling me that there was already a newer version installed already? So I thought maybe it was the older CISCO VPN client (that I will also need later) so I used APpZapper to remove it. I am still getting that error message when the installer gets to the disk selection screen.
Has anyone seen this before? I have no clue where to go from here.

Just upgraded and now latest version of Cisco VPN won't work. I had work settings for VPN (work is PC based) all set and working on my MacBook...with upgrade to Lion the Cisco VPN doesn't even recognize the internet connection. I think problem is that Network Settings is now configured to set up VPN but I don't have the settings for this...they exised in .pcf files in older Cisco format.

Apple has added built-in Cisco IPSEC VPN support in 10.6/SL like it already had on the iphone. Does anyone know of a method of importing a Cisco VPN Client pcf?

Does anyone know if the current version of the Cisco VPN Client runs on Leopard? I know when Tiger came out many people had trouble getting it to work, and the Cisco VPN Client always appears as an issue in 10.4.X seeds.
Also, if it does work, would performing an Archive and Install mess it up? I know its install is a little nasty, and I'm just wondering if it installs some files in weird places. Would I be better off doing a clean install figuring I need the VPN Client to work?
I up graded to Snow and now have problems with cisco client connection (never connects). I have tried Shimo but I get errors when trying to connect.
alternatives for a VPN connect to my University?

really need these 2 applications to log into my office computer while I'm at home.
I have a 13" MBP running 10.5.8 My wifi works fine everywhere except for my school.
The airport connects, has full "signal" and it seems to assign an ip. BUT when i open firefox or safari the redirect/authentication page that is supposed to open never does; instead i get "page not found" or its equivalent. So i can't login or access the internet obviously.
Here is the other part, there are about 40 or so macbooks in every class I have running leopard and snow leopard and no one else seems to have a problem.
Safari comes up with strange Cisco screen asking for password. I've never, to my knowledge had anything to do with Cisco. Cisco says they are investigating but for two days now I haven't been able to get on internet. This is on my G4 running 10.4.11

I have two 17" MacBook Pros.. One is running Leopard and the other is running Snow Leopard. On my Leopard computer, I have no trouble connecting to my company VPN and staying connected. This is using a Verizon Wireless AC595U modem AND/OR using an ethernet connection. On the one running Snow Leopard, I can stay connected with an ethernet cable - but not with the Verizon modem.
What could be the difference? I'm thinking it must have something to do with a new configuration of my new MacBook Pro. I'd really love to keep my old MBP as an emergency backup when the new one is being repaired by Apple. I'd rather not touch it unless I have to. As it stands, I need to use my old computer when traveling if I want to stay connected virtually...
I switched from Ubuntu to Mac OS X 10.9.4 today at work. I'm already using Mac OS X on my private MacBook since two years now. We're using Cisco Jabber at work and I remember the Messages App to also support the XMPP protocol. So I added a new account, entered my credentials, the Jabber server and its port. All worked fine at first. Chatting with people using clients other than the original Cisco Jabber (either for Windows or for Mac) worked fine. But every message I'm receiving from someone using Cisco Jabber starts with an underscored "Subject" text. I don't think this is sent from Cisco Jabber as part of the text because I did not have such problems with receiving messages using Pidgin in 12 months.
So: Is there a way to turn this off or is it really sent by Cisco Jabber and Pidgin simply ignored it all the time?

I have an ibook G4. I use Microsoft Messenger for Mac (version 7.0.1) all the time, and it usually works fine. But for some reason when I use a particular wireless router (Qwest Actiontec) it doesn't work. My web browsers, and other messenger systems (yahoo, aim, ect.) work just fine. I also have a PC which uses the same wireless router, and MSN works on that. When I connect to the neighbor's wireless network (or any other network) with my ibook, Messenger works just fine.
Anyone know of anything I can do to fix this problem? The Actiontech router is my main internet connection, so not having Messenger working with it is a major inconvenience, since other connections are not always available.
I'm a new Mac user (PowerBook G4) and i've downloaded LimeWire 3 times now and it doesn't want to work. I get the disk image, downloaded it, got the LimeWire icon, but when I click on the icon it bounces 2 or 3 times then disappear.
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust got the Time Capsule yesterday, left the MBA all night to finish the initial backup. Everything went just fine. In the morning at the office, turned on the MBA and the fan stayed at 0 RPM. Ran some apps just to make the temperature go up a bit, no luck, the fan is still off. Then ran the hardware test and it returned an error with the fan. Took the laptop to a Genius, once turned the laptop on, the fan was fully operational @ 2500 RPM. I was like WTH, it was off all day. Anyway, so far, the fan has been running properly since the incident. It used to kick in (6200rpm) at 62C. Now, it does so only at +80C. The MBA is so quite now! Love it even more Not sure what happened today, but I'm sure it is WAY better! The fan stays at 2500 almost all the time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook pro (pre-2008 update), and recently had to reinstall smc fan control after trying out another fan control app i thought might be better. After finding out that smc was the way to go, i reinstalled it. After reinstalling smc, it was never working properly like it was before i uninstalled it. When I make a favorite and then set that favorite on the menubar, the fans kick up to the speed i set it to for about 3 seconds then they return to the normal 2000 rpms. nothing I do can fix this. i have tried reinstalling, reinstalling different versions etc.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI downloaded this: [URL] to add the "tweaks" menu. After I downloaded it I had some trouble getting it to work. I originally just dragged the contents of the folder (not the folder itself) into where it is supposed to go and that didnt do anything. So then I redownloaded it and dragged the folder itself into it, that didnt do anything. then I got rid of the orignal Menu.nib file and it caused Safari to not even start. After retrying a bunch of times I eventually got it to work. Once I got it to work I clicked on the "view webless ct" tweak (or whatever it said) just to see what it was, and viola, Safari wouldnt load. Everytime I try to open Safari now, I got an error message saying safari needs to quit.
I even reinstalled safari, didnt work. THEN I threw the installation .dmg file in the trash, as well ass safari it self into the trash and emptied it. Then I used firefox and redownloaded Safari 4 from apple.com. After downloading and installing safari 4 again, restarting the computer, it STILL shows the error message. How can I get safari back to work? I really dont like Firefox.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a wedding invitation using the iMovie and iDVD software on my mac. I have tried numerous things to make it work right but I'm having little luck.
Basically I have tried all of the following. I have exported from iMovie in both standard and high quality to quicktime and even using the standard iMovie format I've used those files to make DVD's in iDVD. I originally burned the DVD's as NTSC, widescreen with low quality without knowing and later found and changed the region settings to PAL, standard and professional quality.
So far everything I've done still has the same out come. The DVD won't play on some DVD players; The DVD will work & play fine on LCD and Plasma T.V's but wont work on the older tube T.V's. (chops off the top and bottom of the project/ DVD) The DVD's are dicksmith (Aus brand) DVD-R; Will changing the brand and or type of DVD help? Am I missing anything?
P.S. The DVD's I've burned so far all work on the computers I've tested it on.
Hope that made some form of sense?
Growltunes will not seem to work on my 2010 iMac! Growl works for everything else, but will not post notifications from iTunes 10. It's installed locally (i've tried in ~/Applications and in ~/Applications/Utilities..) and is definitely running (I've checked in Activity monitor)
Done the standard thing of uninstalling and re-installing boths apps to no avail. Really maddeningly, Growltunes tells me what the last song played is (see attachment) but it wont display a notification! Even more infuriatingly it works perfectly on my MBP with iTunes 10.
I have 10.5.8, have installed leopard to my computer, and now i keep getting the same message "Application Loader cannot be installed on this computer." I have an older power mac that doesn't have intel, but is there any way I could get a version of application loader that works for my computer?

I know there is a way to execute the Jar file using terminal but I don't understand that either since I don't know how to use terminal. Is there something that I have to download/install to get the double clicking to work? If not how do I execute through terminal?
