Anyone know a reputable place to get star wars icons? If so how do you replace them with the regular screen icons. Btw, I did probably a weak search regarding this on the forums already.
View 2 RepliesSo I'm just trying to be productive on my MacBook Pro. I'm trying to do the whole "slide 3 fingers up the glide pad" thing so I can see all the windows and kablewie...suddenly my screen goes all star wars and nothing works. I still have a task bar at the bottom of the screen, but clicking on icons doesn't do anything. All of my windows appear the same size and are stacked up slightly overlapping one another in the middle of the screen. The screen has turned into a moving star field. On the right side is some kind of y-axis scale...it looks like a ruler. I have several desktop icons for applications that might be normal if I was on a windows OS. There are two strange 3-d arrows that seem to be trying to point forward-backward along a z-axis. And nothing works...I click things and they grow slightly larger for a second then return to their normal shape, but they don't do anything. I try several random finger-slide manouvers, four-finger up, down, left, right diagonal; the two finger double helix, finger and thumb spirals, etc. but nothing works. I close the lid, wait a few seconds and the reopen. All seems to have returned to normal.
Where was I? Some sort of parallel Apple universe? Why didn't clicking on anything work? How do I time-warp back when this happens again?

Now: I have tried resetting the the views options, changing the grid size, changing the icon size, repairing permissions in the disk utility. I have tried all these, with reboots in between and in differing orders.

View 1 Replies View Relatedthese are the games i plan on playing when i purchase my new macbook i5 15inch. i know the processor difference between the i5 and i7 is barely noticeable especially for someone like me who doesnt do all that high-end rendering stuff. the only thing thats freaking me out is the difference in quality between these games with the nvidia 330m 256 mb vs 512 mb. some have said it'll make no difference as most games these days just use the speed of the card and not the space, and that the 330m is not even fast enough to take advantage of the 512mb....what would the quality difference be between the two for these games? i plan on getting the high-res screen, does that change anything?

I've already tried going into my install disk and disk utilities and then repair the disk but it didn't help. Is there anyway to get it to work without wiping my entire harddrive?

I know in iPhoto you can give photos a star rating but I still cant seem to view the star rating that has been given to it. Really I just need to be able to view the picture star ratings easily. Is there a way do this?

Has anyone else had this problem before? Is there any non-Time Machine based solution? I'm obviously livid as I have a library of 49,000 songs that I'd rated over the past ten years and if I can't get them back, I don't see why I would ever trust this program again.

What happens is that when I'm viewing my Facebook news feed and start scrolling down the page (it then automatically loads new posts) my news feed "jumps". In other words, in doesnt keep in order and it jumbles me up back to stuff I've read.
In other words, somehow, loading the new posts causes my Safari to forget where I am on the page and take me somewhere else. Has anyone else experienced this?

How does one arrange icons from left to right a Windows. I would like the Mac disk icon in the upper left of the window followed by app and file icons to appear in alphabetical order from left to right. I know it will go vertically and then to the next row.Â

I have to hit program folder twice to see the icons in this folder.I have a 17" 2.9 GHZ Unibody,
When I go into the finder and hit "Programs" the folder opens but no icons are shown, If I hit it a second time (via left menu in window) they are shown roght away.
I place document icons in my finder sidebar, and sometime later they change to folder icons. Does not matter which application they come from, it seems to happen to them all, but they are still linked to the correct documents.

On my desktop the little disk image icons are coming up when i open certain applications. I wanna make them disappear, but still be able to see ipods, cds, and external drives.
Also(somewhat irrelevant), occasionally when i open firefox, it asks me to drag it in the applications folder, but it's already there. please help. its so annooying
i am a tad stumped by this issue i'm having right now with my new imac. i noticed one day that none of my desktop aliases show any longer. in fact if i go to the desktop folder through finder my files and such show in there however none of my aliases nor those files show on the actual desktop. another thing i've noticed is that whenever i now try to drag and drop anything to the desktop whether it be a URL from safari or an alias i made in finder the dragged item simply just drags itself back to where i pulled it from.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I've searched the forums, but can't find an answer -- sorry if I missed something.Just got a new machine running 10.6.3 -- ugh, the dock and folders and so on look like clunky Windows junk :-(I miss my simple, elegant 10.4.11 dock ...I don't want to add novelty icons or that kind of thing, I just want a borderless dock that's semi-transparent or clear. And apparently all the apps out there to change the dock background don't work with Snow Leopard.I know CandyBar can help me with the folder icons and app icons, but as far as I can tell, not the actual dock background.

ran disk utility off off OSX cd..it fixed some block count on a .pub file but still get same thing after restart..
I have went to /system/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources to reach the Finder icon for the dock. I replaced it with the icon I want (Replacing it) but it won't change. I went to terminal and typed 'killall Dock' and the dock does refresh, but it doesn't get the new icon. I tried Refinery, Candybar, .What's even weirder is the trash icon, I have also replaced it, but will only show the new icon if you put trash in it/empty the trash. Otherwise, it would still be the original picture
