Mar 21, 2012I just got done upadting all the software for the mac mini and then I plugged in my ipad so it could get the update 5.1 or whatever it is. However I tunes is saying it will erase all the apps/music/pictures etc that are on there. There isnt anything yet on the mac mini as its still on my backup hard drive. How can I update my ipad without losing everything and having to reload it onto the ipad?Â

Jun 28, 2012I recently had a computer crash and lost everything in my hard drive. The weirdest thing is that when I tried to back up with time machine, it erased my external hard drive instead...so now I have no back up. I just received a new macbook pro, and would like to now sync all the information to my mac, but how can I do that as my purchases, etc. are linked to a macbook that is not longer working (meaning, I cannot retrieve any ID from there)?Â

Mac Mini :: Best Way To Transfer Old Information To New System?
Apr 7, 2009I'll be fitting my new 09 mac mini internal hard drive hopefully tonight. I want to copy all the information (programs etc) onto my new hard drive before I install it. Whats the best way of going about this? I already have an external caddy, so am I right in thinking I can put the new hard drive into that, connect it up to my mini, format it, install osx, and use migration assistant, or I vaguely remember something called 'cloner' or something similar to that name to copy all the data? That when all the info is copied I can take out the stock hard drive, remove the new drive from the external caddy and place it into the mac mini? Then it should boot up fine?

Apr 19, 2012I have a Mac Pro with two hard drives. The one with my older system seemed to be failing, so I installed Lion on the other, newer drive. Now I'm facing the problem of having to transfer all my settings, iTunes info, Keychain, Apps/Serial Numbers/Permissions, etc. from the old system/drive to the new system/drive. How do I do this? (I'd like to be able to sync my iPhone again instead of being told it's already associated with a different computer!) I should add that the new system is already installed, so using a program like Carbon Copy Cloner would just erase that. I also already had data on the drive where the new system was installed, so wiping the drive was out of the question.

Aug 11, 2010I am looking for some sort of software that, from my limited research, doesn't seem to exist. I work as a consultant and I read articles and books all over the web that contain information to which I'd like to come back once in a while. I'm looking for some software in which I could store the said articles in a way that make it possible to search them with keywords. Being able to write small summaries would be a great bonus and I'd also like to be able to keep references to paper books and articles. I tried using Delicious and as good as it is as an online solution I need something more robust and that I can consult offline. I'll probably be copying and pasting articles to make sure to be able to read them once the links are broken.

May 1, 2012My country (Ukraine) is not listed in Locations list. So I can't fill billing information to buy Abbyy Lingvo Dictionaries (and any other things, that I would like to buy) for my iPad2. I wrote to Apple about this issue some monthes ago, but everything stayed the same. What should I do? Throw iPad away, buy Android device and use it (and never buy Apple products anymore)? Issue: Set up a separate user and trying to import information from a Mac Book that is having issues. Mac Book was backed up to an external HD via Time Machine
Question: Is it possible to use time machine to transfer some of the information (photos, music, files) from the external hard drive to the Mac Mini? Is it possible to extract the information from the hard drive by connecting it to the Mac Mini without using Time Machine?
App Store :: Apple ID Billing Information Continually Adds Additional Digits To Zip Code?
Apr 8, 2012when I try to update my billing information the software adds additional digits to my zip code. This is all fine and dandy, it matches to where I live. But my bank only uses the standard five digits and when it adds the additional digits they will not match up correctly despite the first five being matched. This causes an endless and stupidly frustrating cycle that I cannot solve. I tried to find a phone number to call and sort this out but of course that doesn't exist.
