App Store :: Just Discovered No IDVD On New IMac, Where Is It
Jun 22, 2012
Purchased new iMac without being told that even though there is the share option to iDVD, there is actually no iDVD installed. Here fishy fish. Is there a way I could receive the very thing I purchased the iMac for without spending more money--after all, it is supposed to be included. Also, if all else fails, could I somehow move iDVD from my Macbook to my iMac?
Recently, I just discovered a stuck pixel on my 13-inch MacBook Pro. I got it in June 2010 and somehow, there is a stuck pixel near the bottom of the screen. I have tried the widget where it flashes red, green and blue on a small area, but it didn't work. Oh yes, it appears, that using the widget, the pixel only appears when it is green, but not when it is red or blue.
In addition, on a standard background like white or when there is a slight tint of blue like the slightly bluish lines in Finder (in list view). However, the pixel cannot be seen on a black background. Even when the brightness is lowered, the pixel is highly visible, until of course when the brightness is zero.
Can anyone please offer some advice? I believe that it is the only stuck pixel I discovered so far.
I am on an IMac - system 10.4.11. Voice over started unprompted - driving me nuts - and I fixed. But in doing I discovered an errant file with a warning attached. File is MacOSiaX2.oa7.dmg, When I try to open it warning appeared says that the file may be damaged and opening it may damage system can/should I trash - and how best to clear up - concerned it might cause more oddness in the future.
After installing the latest update for iDVD- I can't open the program! I tried the "fix" posted on the Apple site- no luck. It worked fine before the latest update.
I couldn't find what I was looking for in MRoogle.
The thing I hate about iDVD (besides it taking so long to burn video DVDs on Mac) is that the themes are more than I need and take up valuable disc space.
1. Are there any iDVD themes that are simply a menu...no music, no video clip previews, no sappy backgrounds, etc?
2. Is there a free (or cheap) alternative to iDVD excluding Toast?
3. I'd be using .mov or .mp4 as my source video.
4. I have iDVD 7.0.4 and am using Snow Leopard. I really don't want to pay for iLife 11 as I never use Garage Band or iPhoto. iMovie kinda sucks too.
Just purchased a new Mac Mini and while trying to set it up I inserted a couple of discs and they do not seem to be "loading" I also noticed that the IDVD icon seems to be missing from my dock. How do I recover that and how do I download programs (or is the term upload?)
I have an iMac 27" late 2013. I was wanting to burn some dvd's and installed iDVD, while working with iDVD I received a notice that iPhoto could not be opened because it may be damaged or incomplete...Can I get it back??
There is some refubs in the store for the 3.06 imac with the 8800 cards. Will this be quicker than my unibody MBP 2.53 and 9600 video card?I use ilife 09, firefox, alittle gaming using bootcamp and XP.I don't know if I should sell the MBP and buy the Imac because I don't ever move the MBP and like the 24" monitor
How do you delete an app on iMac? I have no problem deleting them on an iPad or iPhone, but the iMac does not have the touch screen. I've tried putting them in the trash, but they won't go away.
Info: iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I'm about to buy a new Macbook and I was wondering how people stored their files. For example, I have all my music on my iMac - do people normally share music and photos between their computers?
I'm thinking that having two computers can be quite frustrating if some of the files are on a desktop and you're out and about with a laptop.
I don't want to have all my data spread across two machines - I think this might be confusing!
I have an imac 10.5.7 with 4GB and a 2.66 GHz processor. I have just installed Final Cut Pro 4 and I read that I should never use the Hard Drive as the scratch disk.
I need to know where else can I store my video footage. Does the mac have another disk that can store all this information. Or do I need to get an external hard drive?
Ok now, I've paid the money they needed, and tryed to download it, but it is always "waiting". Every time I want to download it, it sends me to the Launchpad and doesn't load for 12+ hours. I am on Mac OS X 10.7.4 and I don't know what to do.
I cannot download anything from the ITunes Store to my IMac.
"Tells me there was an error with storing authorization information on this computer. Required file not found or has a permissions error. I have authorized the computer but it hasn't worked. "
I'm using an iMac with an SSD and a second HD. I want to know whether there is any way I can set which hard disk I want apps from the Mac App store to install rather than it all installing by default on the SSD.
I have a new iMac quad core i7 and am wondering how to connect my WD external hard drive via the firewire 800 port AND connect my hd video camera for uploading footage via the same port.
I came across a couple option but not sure how they will work.
1.) can I connect to this iMac via Gigabit Ethernet to my external hard drive?
2.) Should I get a powered firewire hub?
3.) should I find someone to install an eSata connection on my new iMac.
I am not able to open FCP X on my iMac which is running on mac os x version 10.5.8.I have tried to update the version to see if there is any new versions, but apple update says there is no new updates.I am able to install the trial version without a problem. Open it, drag the app to the applications folder. But its only when I try to open it, it gives me the error. Also there is a circle with a slash on the Final Cut Pro X app icon to show that it is not compatible. Is there any way I can get it to work. I used to have Final Cut Pro working on this before without a problem, however deleted as I found it a bit difficult to learn. But I have seen the features for Final Cut Pro X which is so much easier and really would like to give it a try.
My Imac wont play store DVDs.It will read files from a disc but not play movies. It ejects the disc.I recently upgraded to OSX Lion could that be an issue?
Not sure where to post this as it really applies to the Apple Online Store itself. On my iMac running 10.6.3 I can't check out on the Apple online store. I can add items to my cart (doesn't matter what it is: i've tried various items). But once I go to check out it asks me to login and when I do I get taken to a page that says "An error has occurred during your session. Please return to the Store Menu to continue shopping." No matter how many times I try to checkout, I'll get the same error. However, if I login to the Apple store from my Macbook Air running 10.5.8 (which recognizes me as the same account as the same items will show up in the cart) I can checkout fine with no problems.
