I purchased Final Cut Pro X to use on my iMac. I would also like to have it on my laptop, but I can't find any way of doing this. Is the software limited to one device only?

I have a film that I need to burn to a DVD but seems like I'm having issues with it playing in numerous DVD players. It will play on friends' Mac computers but not on DVD players. I'm thinking it may be a codec issue, but I may be wrong.Â
I edited the film using Final Cut Pro X on my iMac 2012 model and I do not have an external rewritable disc drive. I exported the master file from Final Cut and copied the file to a flash drive, copied to my PC desktop, then proceeded to burn the file to a DVD-R using Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate on my PC.Â
Is there a better, absolute way to burn my film to a DVD to insure it WILL play on all DVD devices?
I have successfully burned 2 DVD's & 1 Blu Ray from the same file so the media files don't seem to be the problem, I have fully uninstalled/reinstalled Final Cut including all caches/preferences etc as instructed on the official instruction page, All three file destinations (USB, EX HD, iMac HD) have more than enough space for the 8 GB file. It's also not just "Apple Devices 1080p" but all computer/hard drive based destinations (Apple Devices 720, Master, Export File, etc)

I've been using FCPX for a few years and recently noticed that updates were not showing as being available. So I deleted the app and tried to download it. Multiple times I tried but the download would show up as an error after various amounts of downloading. Now, I can't even begin the download without an error coming up. i started download this app called aerofly fs from app store and some how my cat stepped on my mpc and it got restarted. After restart when i tried to resume download from app store but the button appears to say install not resume download, i clicked on install anyway but it does not respond, i mean the button turned grey for a few seconds and comes back to a blue install, nothing happened!!! later i tried to update a few apps and the same thing happens, app store was not responsive to download.

For the past few months it has been a pain trying to download from the apps store. I purchased OSX LION from the app store and supposedly should be able to download it to the Mac's in my house. Imac worked, no problem. But Macbook (OS 10.6.8 and Intel Core 2 duo) hasn't worked. The macbook ends up restarting before Lion is downloaded and then I start all over again. What am I doing wromg.Â
