View 8 RepliesAnyone knows if it possible to buy a "MacBook" with french keyboard (AZERTY) in a US Apple Store? I know we can order it through out the internet apple store, but I was just wondering if this option was actually available in stores.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI actually ordered a MBP quite a few weeks ago on the refurbished store, but then I decided to return it as I saw that there was basically only 10 pounds difference between the education discount and the refurbished. So I went into the Apple store and asked them if they actually replace keyboards (as I'm not a huge fan of the British Key layout), and the person said that they would do it for free. So I made my purchase on the spot and two days ago I got an email telling me to bring my MBP in.
Two days later, I went into the Apple store to pick it up and voila it's actually quite amazing how they changed the key layout (I was very confused because of the Unibody design... and how that actually works with changing keyboard layouts). Here's the catch: They wanted to charge me 168 pounds (I'm guessing roughly $250). Which... obviously freaked me out. Thank God they waived it for me but seriously why would a Keyboard Layout cost so much?
I've had a Macbook for quite some time, and it just died a few days ago, so I got a new regular white Macbook.
The thing is that the new Macbook's got a different layout for the keys- the latin american one. Physically I mean. The keys look different, the symbols are all over the place and I'm having a seriously hard time using it.
Is there any way of changing the keys to the american ones? I still have my old notebook, so I can always change them by hand, but even so the white plastic thing around them has a different shape. Would that be a problem?
I have a MacBook Pro, and as a Phonetics student, it would be immensely supportive to have IPA on my computer. I've downloaded and installed Charis SIL, and the next part is to download and install an IPA Unicode keyboard layout. I've done that, and the instructions tell me to put the file into the Library folder called "keyboard layouts." I can locate this folder when searching for an application to open the file with, however when I'm searching "all my files" the folder is nowhere to be found. What can I do to successfully install this file?

I have a MacBook2,1 - the white one with the 'old style keyboard' i.e. with the expose and spaces keys on f8,f9 keys etc. I am wondering as my work machine has the the expose keys on f3, and f4 keys and the new white macbook has the same keyboard layout with the expose key etc on the early f keys is it possible to purchase a new Macbook keyboard and put it in the older macbook.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a new MacBook Pro i5 yesterday to replace my MBP LED (2.2Ghz). The function keys on the new MBP kinda suck. I really want the one that does "Show Desktop". If you go to keyboard layout, it says that F11, F12, etc., are assigned, but seems it completely ignores them. What the F? Even if I could change the expose button to show desktop, I'd be very happy. I know you can use the 4 finger swipe, but that doesn't help while trying to drag something from the desktop into mail.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy macbook pro keyboard died, the only replacement I could find was the newer keyboard layout (where the Fn keys have different functions - such as volume has been moved etc). After a bit of filing etc to get it to fit, its all back together and looking/working fine, but I need to change the keyboard layout so the pictures on the keys do what they are supposed to (hope that makes sense?) i.e. on the old one volume up was F5, but on the new one volume up is F12.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI alternate between French and English regularly when typing, but every time I have to go to System Preferences (or add an ugly flag that does not match the color-scheme to the status-bar) and change the language. Is there a way to have a keyboard shortcut that switches between two keyboard shortcuts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can see the accent keys, but I cannot get them to work right. Is there any way to type French accents without changing the keyboard layout to French? This is the new, flat Apple keyboard, on the last white iMac model.
View 14 Replies View RelatedBut i need to compare the two keyboard layouts. I am from Sweden, but I dont mind if the buttons says different on the MPB, as long as there is as many keys that im used to have.
If any one from sweden or china or if any one can google this it would be great! (i have googled ALOT, but I got nothing.. internet here is not they same as back home..
If so how, I'd like my keyboard to be factory made with two languages?I don't want stickers, I want something legit.

I don't know if this forum is the correct one to ask the question I have.
I'm going to New York next month, and I'd like to know if I could buy the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard (Spanish version) in one of the Apple Store of New York.
I just noticed my applications running with X11 doesn't let me use some symbols like the =. If I change the layout to U.S. letters and numbers are working, but not other symbols.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to modify my keyboard layout to change the Help key to sent the Insert code instead. I'm using a Citrix ICA client to remote connect to my mom's work PC (Windows XP). She uses an old DOS program that requires you to press the Insert key to enter a new order. When we are remote connected, and we press Help (which is supposed to be Insert) it still sends the Help command.
Does anyone know a way I can modify the keyboard layout in OSX to change Help (or any other key) into Insert? Even through 3rd party software is fine.
i'd like to ask how to uninstall / delete a keyboard layout of out Input Menu (System Preferences->International->Input Menu) since, i got some problem with my Vietnamese keyboard (everytime a vowel, it'd appear twice) and wanted to delete it to install a new one, but don't know how. I was using Apple Mail's new layout that came with Lion and one fine day it morphed into the old classic layout. When I uncheck 'classic layout' from Mail-> Preferences -> Viewing, it goes back to the new layout but without the viewing pane on the right half of the screen, where you read emails highlighted in the inbox on the left.

I reside in Spain and I've recently opened a joint account with a US resident here in Los Angeles at Charles Schwab bank. The financial consultant told us it's possible to deposit checks into schwab account through an app for iphone [URL]I've tried to download but it appears the following window: "your application has not been able to complete" and "The article you requested is not available at this time in Spanish Store, but is available in the U.S. Store. Click Change Store to view this article". If I click to change the Store from the Spanish to the American store, I have to fill the data but my ID apple is not working on the "foreign" store. What can I do? Is there a way to buy / download items from a different Itunes stores?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new 2012 aluminum Wireless keyboard and the function keys do not work properly. I am currently running OS 1.5.8. I would expect most keys to match the icons on the keyboard. I do not want to upgrade to Snow Leopard or Lion. I have installed an aluminum keyboard upgrade 2.0 and this did not help. I just want the the keyboard functions to match the icons on the keyboard.. Volume up...volume down...
