ITunes :: Converted Video In It But Won't Sync To IPad
Mar 7, 2012Usually, I convert videos for my iPad or iPhone using Toast and it works fine. Today, I had an mp4 video and I just dropped it into iTunes where it will play there just fine. However, it will not sync to my iPad. So, I went into the iTunes Advanced menu and had iTunes convert it for the iPad. Even that video will not sync to my iPad. I don't get it. I just converted it with Toast and now it will go on my iPad thru iTunes. I don't get why it doesn't work when iTunes converts it.

Apr 23, 2012I understand that the cloud keeps my contacts, calendars, etc, synced -- and I'm no longer syncing with my Mac.Â
But, here's what I'm not sure about.Â
If I have a video on my Mac and want to move it to the iPad, I used to place it in iTunes and do a USB sync. Can I do the same thing now to move the video?Â
If so, do I simply make sure that the sync settings for contacts, calendars, etc are turned off? Or does it not matter?Â

ITunes For Mac :: Recent Video Content On IPad / IPhone Reloading During Sync
Jun 20, 2014Recently purchased video content is reloading to my devices even though the same content is already on the device.Â
Can successfully remove the video, and that stops the reload during subsequent syncs. If the content is put back, the reloading starts again in subsequent syncs. Â
Not the worst problem, but a big time and data consumer, and very annoying. I have tried the following without success of stopping this behavior;
1.)Â Deleted the video in question from my library and downloaded it again from Apple.
2.)Â Downloaded/Reinstalled iTunes from Apple on my laptop.
3.)Â Device soft reset.
4.)Â Device factory reset and restored.Â
My current system is;Â OSX 10.9.3 and iTunes 11.2.2 running on MacBook Pro, while OS Version 7.1.1 resides on my iPhone 5S and iPad2.Â

May 3, 2010ABC's streaming video application for the iPad will not work over a 3G cellular network such as AT&T, as a result of Apple's rules for HTTP Live Streaming and ABC's development of the application.
When the iPad with 3G launched on Friday in the U.S., many users realized that the ABC Player application, which allows users to view episodes of the network's most popular shows, does not work over the AT&T 3G network. While there were initially rumors that this restriction was due to AT&T -- which in the past has prevented services like streaming, MMS and tethering -- the wireless carrier played no part in the missing feature. While AT&T eventually alloed VoIP calls and MMS over its 3G network, it has not yet allowed tethering.
As noted by Engadget, the restriction in the ABC player was self-imposed, as the developers chose to skip the option of providing a 64 Kbps stream for 3G playback. That decision is why the ABC application does not allow streaming over 3G, while Netflix and YouTube do, albeit with lower bitrates.
"You must include a low quality stream of no more than 64 Kbps for your app to resort to when network conditions demand it, along with the higher quality streams you want to deliver to your customers when the network can support it," Apple's rules in the iPhone OS Reference Library state.
But the restriction may not last for long. Silicon Alley Insider reported Monday that ABC is working on a 3G-compatible version of its popular streaming video application for the iPad. An ABC representative told the publication that the lack of 3G support was "based on a variety of business and technical considerations."
Both the ABC and Netflix applications were released for the iPad when the Wi-Fi model first launched in early April. While both are free to download, the Netflix software requires a subscription to the movie rental service.

Mar 25, 2010CBS.com is currently testing HTML5 video playback for streaming episodes of its TV shows, signaling that the major U.S. broadcast network aims to be iPad compatible before Apple's new multimedia device launches.
As discovered by MacRumors, accessing "iPad - test" video links accidentally posted by CBS through the iPad simulator, or when spoofing a browser's "user agent" setting, loads a new page that appears to be set up for HTML5 streaming video. The same links take users to the Adobe Flash page when accessed with a traditional browser.
"This new version of the video does not yet work but appears to be based on HTML5," the report said. "The css files reference HTML5 and have a number of 'webkit' specific calls. Webkit is the browser engine used in the iPad's mobile safari. While the videos don't currently play, the 'fullscreen mode' reportedly already works in the iPad simulator."
That CBS would be eager to find compatibility with the iPad should come as no surprise -- the network was on board with Apple's proposal for a TV subscription deal while other networks were wary. The network has also suggested it will lower prices of some TV shows on iTunes to 99 cents, down from the current standard of $1.99.
In February, it was rumored that Hulu, an online streaming video destination for multiple networks, plans to make its videos available without Flash for the iPad platform. Reports then alleged that the Web site could be prepared by the time the iPad launches April 3, though it was said the service would likely be subscription only.

In January, Google added support for HTML5 in YouTube, the Web's most popular streaming video destination. Allegedly labeled a "CPU hog" by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, Adobe Flash has been a target of Apple, which has not allowed the Web standard on its iPhone OS, including the forthcoming iPad.

Mar 13, 2012I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes.It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.Â

Feb 15, 2012I have an iPad that is synced to my home computer (iMac). I am currently in my second home and wish to move some files back and forth between my second iMac and iPad. I do NOT wish to sync them as this erases all the work I have done on files at my first home. The app I am mostly concerned with is called Songbook. My second iMac does not allow file sharing and I'm guessing because it needs to sync first. Not gonna happen. So am I out of luck or is there some way to move files back and forth? I really would like to do this as the edit function on the iMac is much better than using the Songbook app and keyboard.
