when I pluged iphone into my computer, it tells me that I need to format the ipod.
If i did so, then all of my data will go. I can't do that.
How can I recover that?
I didn't make a backup. Sucks.
I checked many data recovery software, they can't fix this problem, like recuva, diskgetor, etc. they can't run in Mac
I loved the Genius Recommendation Panel on iTunes 9 and found lots of new songs and artists when using itI cannot believe Apple removed it from iTunes 10 and replaced it with a social networking site with the awful title "Ping"
So I replaced iTunes 9 last night, only to find that it wouldn't accept my iTunes library. I managed to reload the songs, but I have lost all my playlists, star ratings, play counts, etc. Its all gone.
How do I access Notes backed up from iPhone onto Mac without using an iPhone?

I have not upgrade to Yosemite yet but the other day I did install the security patach and the new iTunes 12. Since then, I am missing over 1/2 my playlists and the existing playlists have missing songs. I am NOT missing any songs in my library but the playlists are really messed up.
I don't keep my iTunes library on my macbook air but rather on an external drive. The same external drive is the one I use to backup via Time Machine.Â
I don't mind iTunes 12, per se, so I'm not interested in reverting back to v.11 as support keeps suggesting. I just want my playlists back the way they were before the upgrade. Is there a way to access my old xml(?) file to ovverride the new one? I'm not sure how this works. I am confused by the whole xml file thing and I can't find any old ones either...
Unfortunately, my iPad mini has already synced automatically to my macbook and so the playlists are messed up there, as well. It looks like my iPod touch (4 generation) hasn't been effected yet.

For some reason, with the purchase of my first mac laptop, when I went to pull up my library of music on iTunes, it only populated part of my purchased tunes onto the new laptop, how to recover the rest of the songs?

I have just been searching my trash folder and have found all my 'Previous I Tunes folders' there. All with the .itl ending. I have dragged the most recent one out of trash but when I try to open it, nothing happens and the icon appears blank.

Is there any way to recover it without having to purchase it again? Is it on the iCloud? Does Apple keep a record of our purchases and will the restore the file?

I wonder how I can recover the music and Apps that I already bought from iTunes store. I lost my iPod and I want to check for the music and the Apps I bought since I am thinking in buying a new iPod, but there are not in my iTunes. I tried all I could try to get them back but nothing. I check the list of the thing I bought from Apple Store through iTunes and some of the music and Apps are in the list, couldn't find how to downloads again, but not all the music or Apps were there.

I've been reading this site for a couple of years, this is my first time typing.
Computer crashed, nothing is accessable, at the advice of my nearest mac dealer, I did an erase and restore with my system disks, but now itunes says "all the music for my account has already been downloaded."
How can I recover this?
Some imported mp3 files went to the Unknown Artist/Unknown Album folder with itunes 9/10. They don't show up in itunes.
How can I make them show?

I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes. It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new-to-me MacBook (running Lion) and I just downloaded all my music into iTunes. I had been sync'd with an old PC laptop previously. If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)? I do use iCloud backup on the iPhone, and I've got all kinds of apps installed (and arranged to my liking). What's the best way to have my music sync with the MacBook without having to reinstall my apps?Â

I have an older iPod that has some playlists on it that are not in my iTune library. I want this same playlist on my iPhone but when I do an 'export' then try to drag and drop into my phone I get a message saying it did not copy because 'it cannot be played on this phone'. I also cannot drag and drop it into iTunes anywhere either. All of these songs are in my library, I just don't want to have to go through and remake this playlist to add to my phone.
View 3 Replies View Relatedrecently I deleted some playlists off my iPhone in order to free up space for the time being and did not realize that Apple changed its iOS so that it deleted the playlists off my iTunes as well. When I did this before, it did not do that.Â
So in an attempt to recover my lost playlists I moved my iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Library.xml to the desktop and then when I reopened iTunes I clicked import playlist and imported the iTunes Library.xml on the desktop. Â
It reimported all my songs, but it didn't even recover the playlists I was trying to gain again. In addition now all my "date added" is today date's which is not very useful to me considering a lot of my playlists are organized by the date added feature.Â
Is there anyway to get the date added back for all my songs? I still have the itunes library.itl and itunes library.xml that I moved to the desktop in the first place on the desktop. Â

I bought a song to use as a ringtone on itunes. How do i use it on my iphone 3g?
View 5 Replies View RelatedRunning iTunes v. 9.1.0.79. Trying to get ringers on an iPhone 3gs I just purchased yesterday. All of the methods I am seeing (outside of jailbreaking which I don't wan't to do) are not working. I'm assuming that the version of iTunes I am running has corrected the ways that people were using to get ringers. Anyhow, I have mp3 ringers from my other phone saved on my computer. I've tried importing them, converting them to AAC format to no avail. Is there any value in going down in versions to regain the ringer function. Is that possible? I gotta say, I am extremely underwhelmed by the choice of ringers in iTunes. I feel like I've gone back 10 years. if anyone knows of any other way to get ringers onto the iPhone (without jailbreaking) I'd love to hear them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe new itunes10 app appeared on my iphone -- purple instead of blue-- and now it only displays songs purchased in the itunes store.Anything I have ripped from my purchased cd's do not show up in the app. Basically my iphone is now just a phone. I use it mostly for music so this is really getting annoying. No notice of this change. After many hours of trying many different things I'm really just looking to kill the itunes app. There must be another app out there to take your music from your mac and transfer to your iphone to listen to it?I already know I'm moving to an android this fall as I'm so tired of this problem child of a phone.
