May 12, 2012I have been loading my DVD collection onto my Time Capsule HD and watching them streaming through my ATV. However, I was going to try to organize the files better and rename the titles so the movie title came up as more recognizable then how it gets written into iTunes. When I try to rename the title by right clicking the movie then left clicking "get info", I type in the movie name that I want and I then get the dreaded rainbow wheel. I right click my iTunes on the dock and its saying 'application not responding" so I go ahead and "force quit". Of course, when I do this nothing is saved because it has not finished with the 'OK". I tried going to rename them on the TC and then the movies would not play any more. When I have waited for iTunes to finish and ok the name change I could no longer see the film that way either. It would come up with the player and would show the counter like it really is playing but no video or audio. Â
I really want to put the real names on the movies with what they are, its a little annoying to look at, for instance...the movie American Pie is titled "AMPIEDC_2_Title_1...The movie America's Sweethearts is titled DVD_VIDEO_Title_1. Â
This is what shows up in iTunes and subsequently on my ATV or home sharing anything which is quite annoying and unless you know that is how the DVD loaded itself you would not really know what the title of the movie is. Â

I've just migrated from PC to Mac and have a nice new MBP and am discovering a few differences between the two platforms. grrrÂ

There are other things I'd like to be able to tweak as well. Like just pulling up a particular genre - I used Media Centre on my PCs and had amazing control of everything. It behaved like a well constructed database.Â

Mar 31, 2012iTunes has one of my old email addresses in my profile. How do I update that to be my current e-mail address?
Fo example my email and apple id are [url].. but my profile has email [url]... in it - an old email I no longer have access to.
Also - i've used 3 different email addresses since I bought my first iPhone. Everytime I update apps on it asks me for a password for one of those 3 email addresses (Apple IDs) - a different one everytime - and it's been so long since I closed those old ones i'm having a hard time remembering the passwords - I guess - because half the time it fails. It would be nice if there was some way to say everything on this phone belongs to the current apple ID.

Apr 15, 2012I just recently bought my first MBP and I have been busy transferring all my files from my Vaio to my MBP. I convert all my dvds to digital format and keep them on an external HDD (LaCie 1TB HDD) and was adding them to my iTunes on my MBP. I came across a problem trying to change the media kind for some of the videos.Â
I have several shows on my HDD (anime, Dexter, Walking Dead, etc.) but when I go to change the media kind to TV Show, it doesn't let me. The info on the folder says my MBP has "Read only" permission. How can I change this so I can read and write the files for my MBP? This is about the only snag I've come across trying to set up my MBP similar to my Vaio.Â

I have found alot of downloads for this, but I get alot of "image not recognized" I've spent days on this and want to know how to make them "recognizable" without spending another whole day trying to figure this out, or is there any criteria so I wont keep running into this? cant just do the conversion in itunes. I have tried most of programs including VLC and other top rated ones. Jan 13, 2011I'm trying to change an album in itunes. I drag the whole album in itunes: no problem. The artist name is spell slightly different than other albums by the same artist so when I transfer to my ipod you get two artists in your list: problem for me. I select every track in the album, right click and get info. Change the artist name and click ok. The artist name for every track changes however it always leaves the first track on its own while the others move to their own (splitting the album): problem When I check the info/tags nothing seems out of place on that one track? Not the first time this has happened but it seems to be on random albums.

Then when I tried to play the music, it couldn't find it. so I went into prefrences, and changed the target folder to the new one. But when I changed it, it still couldnt find the music. Dec 27, 2009I've managed somehow to change the displayed bitrate of songs I've purchased off the iTS, simply by removing the contact details with a hex editor, and it's really bugging me that there doesn't seem to be any way to change it back!
Normally, iTS purchases appear as 256kbps, which is the standard I use (I don't have VBR checked for iTunes plus, as it appears '256kbps (VBR)' whilst songs purchased from iTunes do not, and I like 100% consistency in appearance) - however, now I am getting the true bitrate on songs I've purchased and altered, such as 264kbps, or 281kbps, anywhere from 256kbps to 290kbps.
How can I change the appearance of these files so iTunes displays them as 256kbps again? I've tried AtomicParsley, but it doesn't seem to have a bitrate option, and I definitely do not want to burn them to CD and rip them back!
I know this will sound like an incredibly anal request, but as I said, I like 100% consistency!

Feb 8, 2010I know *how* to do this, by going to "get info", and I have done it before. But, for some reason I *can't* actually do it anymore. When I select a group of songs to change info on, it acts like its going to work but then does nothing. When I select a single item, the get info tab is completely grayed out, nothing can be clicked on or changed. I have tried checking the song outside of iTunes to make sure it isn't read only or anything and I haven't found any issues with that. None of these should have any copy protection, they've all been ripped from cd or downloaded.
The only way I have been able to change anything so far is to convert the mp3 to AAC. I really don't want to have to convert the whole library. What is wrong with this?? How do I fix it?
