View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Retina iMac running OS 10.10.1.  My previous computer is a Mac Pro (2006) with 10.7.5 (latest OS it will support). The Mac Pro has iTunes 12.0.1 with the database files on the system hard drive and the media files on a secondary internal hard drive. getting my iTunes library on to the new iMac.Â
Migration Assistant doesn't work.
Open Migration Assistant on the iMac and it finds the Mac Pro and offers a code which should be verified on the Mac Pro. Open Migration Assistant on the Mac Pro and tell it to "Transfer to another Mac" and get the spinning gear. Left it on all night, they never connected.Â
Consolidating my iTunes library back to the Mac Pro system hard drive doesn't work.
Following the directions from Apple Support, I pointed my current copy of iTunes (on the Mac Pro) to the default Music folder in order to consolidate the library all in to one folder so that I could transfer it at once to the iMac (iTunes > File > Library > Organize Library). After about 20 minutes I got an error message: "Copying files failed. An unknown error occurred (-22)". I assume there is one or more files screwing this up, but can't figure out which one(s).Â
Simply copying the entire iTunes media folder over my network from the Mac Pro to the iMac doesn't work.
Error (-50) and the copying fails before it gets more than 50 mb. I'm currently attempting to copy one folder at a time. But I don't assume that I'll be able to rebuild my old library on the new machine this way.Â
The current iTunes library is about 250 GB. It is slow, but works on the old machine.Â

After I moved my iTunes media and library back from an external drive back to my new laptop (with a larger drive), I can't open iTunes. I get this message "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the iTunes folder in the "Music" folder. The only option it gives is to click "OK" and iTunes shuts down. I tried reinstalling iTunes but the problem persists. I've checked and my iTunes Library.itl file is in its proper location.Â

I'm having an issue with Microsoft Word 2011 Beta 6. No matter what I save, it out puts this same pink image file, that appears to repackaged as a open xml word document. A little digging with this file tells me that it contains active code, and it's origins are from the save and savex command line tools (now part of 2011 to support vb macros) Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know of a possible solution? I'm being accused of intentionally corrupting files at my high school....

I've tried every tip on the web including, reducing the encoding quality & reducing the burn speed and de-install and re-install iDVD, but still manage to get the same message 'Encoding Video - There was an error during movie encoding' after having waited an hour for it to encode.I'm using iDVD '08 Vir.7.0.1 on a MacBook (10.5.8) with over 20GB of free space and 1GB of memory.The .avi file is 500mb in size.I've tried saving as a Video_TS folder rather than directly to a DVD, but still get the same error.

View 13 Replies View RelatedTonight i was working on a report in MS Office 08, and it was all fine and what not until one point i got some error message saying that the disk was full and i couldnt save it and to change the saving location. Anything this is on the main drive where i have ~40gb's left. So i put my USB Drive in to save it on that and it gave me the same error it wouldnt save on anything it just keep saying Disk Full.. Does anyone know what that is? Clearly its some sort of error/bug as i restarted the macbook and downloaded a picture and saved it on my desktop with no problems after the reboot. Recently I purchased a 1TB Time Capsule. I have it downstairs, plugged into my modem and it's working as my wireless router as well as external HD, I also have an Airport Express plugged in upstairs, set up in bridge mode to extend my network so I get strong coverage everywhere in the house. Now my collection of around 3500 mp3's are currently stored on my unibody 13" Macbook, but I want to know if it's possible to save all of my music - and any other content I download straight to my TC, and then run iTunes as normal.
Just using the TC as the source rather than a file on the HD in my Macbook? Just trying to free up some space is all. Will I be hearing glitchy playback if it is possible? Is it simply a case of finding my iTunes library, cmd+A, copy all files to TC, delete original files off HD and then resetting the file location under iTunes preferences? I don't want to try this yet until I'm told I can in case I screw up and lose my library.
I saved several voicemails from my landline (Comcast Digital Voice). They are saved in a folder in my Documents folder but also are showing up in my iTunes library. They are saved as .wav files. I want to keep them (one is my last voicemail from my dead mom) but I don't want them showing up in my library of songs in iTunes, being synced with the rest of my songs on all my devices. Is there any way to remove them from my iTunes library while keeping them saved on my hard drive in my Documents folder?Â
