Feb 28, 2012
An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later. The Wireless connection is FINE and the INTERNET and E-Mail work fine. The RADIO has worked for over a year with NO PROBLEM and this JUST STARTED 2 Days ago,
Info:
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Problem started just 2 days ago
Every time I try to connect to an ITunes radio station, I get this error message: An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later.
While Apple tries to figure out what's wrong I came upon a great workaround for those of us that like the radio feature of iTunes. This actually doesn't take long either. When trying to expand the categories you get the error "An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service.Check your Internet connection, or try again later." This happens enough to think that the service is completely broken. Actually, it seems intermittent. Try clicking it a few times. you WILL GET THROUGH. When you do get there, highlight all of the stations(or just the ones you want), create a playlist (I use the name of the category as I take the entire list), and paste into the playlist. You can then play the stations EVERY TIME from the playlist. Works perfectly.
It doesn't seem to have anything to do with what version of iTunes you have or what plugin you have. I have seen this on over 600 computers - Windows & MAC - and the workaround is 100%.
I get this error message when trying to connect to the radio stations on itunes? "an error occurred while trying to contact the radio tuning service" My computer is definitely connected to the internet as I can stream from pandora and safari and mail work?
I've been using ITunes radio flawlessly for years, when suddenly this a.m. I got the error message: An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later. The rest of ITunes like the store and such seem to be working fine as is my internet connection. Nothing on my system has changed. ITunes was last updated in January 2012.I'm on Mac book with OS X 10.6.8.
I have updated to the latest version of iTunes and, the internet radio connection worked for a couple of days. Now, when I click on the arrow/triangle to the left of the radio category that I want (and any other in the list, I've found), iTunes just sits and churns trying to connect to the radion tuning service. For instance, if I want the News/Talk Radio category, the message displayed is "Contacting tuning service...Refreshing News/Talk radio". And nothing happens. It never connects. Ever. I have tried all the usual things: restarting iTunes, restarting my computer (MacBook), checking the internet connection (absolutely no problem there), etc.
After migrating my old iMac to my new one, every time I start iTunes, I get the following message: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (4002).
When I attempt to upgrade I get an error message, "Could not purchase "iTunes Plus Upgrade". An unknown error occured (1004)." This has occurred over the last few days and after restarting.
A movie I purchased stops downloading almost immediately and the error message above comes up. The rest of iTunes works properly and my internet connection is fine. I was downloading numerous TV episodes before and during while this movie was in the cue without any issues. I've restarted my network and that did not seem to fix it.
I've deleted the movie from the cue and re-downloaded it but still same issue.
I'm trying to download a movie and this message keeps showing up (unknow error occurred (-50)) check your internet connection and try downloading again. I have an internet connection but every time I try to download the same message keeps showing up.
Recently I had my Macbook pro reformatted back to factory conditions. After downloading all the software updates I tried to log into the iTunes store, but everytime I get the message " We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An Unknown error occurred (-54)"
I am able to connect to the iTunes store itself and look around and preview songs. but I can't log in to my account. I have the latest version of iTunes, and I haven't altered any settings in iTunes, so I'm confused as to why I am receiving this error message.
The other discussions and trouble shooting pages referencing the error (-54) seem to all talk about ipod sync issues or not being able to access the store in general.
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I got this error message when trying to import a CD into iTunes. It also had "The required disk cannot be found" it's an intermittant problem with an iMac running OS X 10.6.8
We've been trying to download the latest digital copy of Mission Impossible from iTunes and have had no luck. It stops downloading and gives an error message (unknown error occurred (-50)) and have received (err - 8008). We've checked for software updates, rebooted the system and tried again, but nothing.
I recently replaced the HD in my MacBook Pro. Just after, I retrieved my old files from the Time Machine backup, which I made just before the replacement. During the first sync of my iPhone via iTunes and while I was trying to sync my contacts I saw the message "iTunes could not sync contacts to iPhone because an error occurred while committing data". After that, I lost my iPhone contacts (I have them only from iCloud). The only problem is contacts, all the others (Calendars, Apps) are normally syncing.
I've been unable to download or update any applications or songs on any of my phones, ipads, or imacs. I just keep getting the messages, "Unable to download application." It's been this way for weeks. What can I do?
I'm trying to empty the trash on my iMac (running Snow Leopard) but I just get an error message: The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code - 8003).
I am getting this error "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." when I try to transfer files from my Mac Mini to my External Harddrive which is connected to my Airport Extreme. " The error does not appear to happen all the time. It does seem consistent if I am transfering files and then try to transfer more.
The files I am transferring are .mp4. It does not appear to care about the size of the file, it happens with small files and large files, I can transfer some large folders (2.54G). I can connect the hard-drive externally directly to the mac mini and it will transfer any file.
The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E). I keeep getting this when I try to burn my daughters wedding pic to a dvd.
When I try to empty my Trash with a certain app in it I get error code -8003. I can't find reference to that code anywhere and do not know how to clean up the trash. "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003)."
