Some songs on my iPhone 5S are showing up in iTunes (when I view the iPhone in iTunes) as a song and a s a stream.Pretty sure these were all downloaded from iTunes using my iPhone.I unchecked Sync music, sync’d then rechecked Sync music but, alas, the songs stay. I only see one song when I view them in Music app on the directly iPhone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe most demanding thing I would do with a new Air is watch videos, while having 5 windows open, while also running Office. Would 2GB be enough? And if it isn't just wondering when the MBA accesses more RAM virtually using the SSD how slow would it be? Half the speed of actual real RAM? A quarter? Or maybe it would be almost as fast as real RAM??
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm about to order a Macbook Pro and I'm undecided between a regular 500gb 7200rpm HHD or the 128 SSD. I've heard the SSD is fast but I'm afraid it might not be enough space. Typically, hard drives actually have a little less free space than the number it indicates. For example, a 500gb might have about 460gb of free space.

My machine is 2.26 MBP 13" with 8 GB ram and x-25m 160gb so I'm guessing I might get a little more out of the internal battery. Hypermac tells me that the 100w is their most popular model.
I need to know exactly how to remove the display portion of a macbook air, and how to go about replacing the actual LED display. The pictures, unfortunately, do not suffice. A video would be ideal, otherwise I may be going into my repair project quite blindly and unprepared. If there is no such video available.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a total Mac dummy but our owners daughter came in with her Macbook and said that no one can receive her attachments because they always get changed to DAT files. This happens if she uses both GMAIL and YAHOO mail (via safari). I can easily rename the file back to DOC or DOCX on my end but most of her friends and co-workers will not want to do that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedExactly as the title says - is there a program out there that can track how long my MBP is running when i run it off of battery power? As we all know the power usage varies depending on what you're doing on the computer, and I don't tend to do any one thing for hours on end. I know on my windows PC i used some program that charted on a graph power usage over time until the battery died.

Here is whats happening: my 3 y.o. 15 MBP is connected to external speakers (Bose MusicMonitor) and every time there is a sound, any system sound, say an email in, a volume chirp, or a Skype chirp, anything at all, I hear an audible POP, before hearing the actual sound, in fact the POP sort of overlays the sound. I hear the second POP sometimes, after the sound has sounded, so to speak, and sometimes the second one does not happen at all. To me it reminds me of the Pioneer Amp my dad used to have in the 70's, when you first turn that thing on, it would produce an audible POP. So, back to to this, it sounds like an amplifier POP by being awaken by the system, and I'm inclined to think it is the MBP's audio "amplifier" on its board. Oh, btw, both the speakers and the MBP's volume is set to low.

I need space on my computer - video files take up most space and I have a bunch of music videos in my iTunes library. My question is -
If I upgrade to iTunes Match - would that mean I can then delete files on my computer in my iTunes library and still access them later?
I have a batch of HD video downloads in my iTunes Store queue that I can't delete. Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.
I do not have the bandwidth
i want to delete songs from my itunes library but want to be able to put them back on if i ever want them again. i have an external hard drive and i have like synced them or whatever is that enough?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen you bought your MBP how much space did you have available out of the box. My 80 gig hardrive has a capacity of 74.21 and I never checked how much was used when I bought it. Reason I am asking is, I have 42.4 gigs left and I cant figure out where all that space went. I can account for 9 gigs worth of itunes music and videos, and maybe another 4 or so gigs of other stuff. What about the rest? How do I check if I have a HUGE plist file or something?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSometimes (very rarely, but it does occur) I need to press the F1 button or F8 or another "f" button. However, as we all know, apple has placed really nice (I really like them) shortcuts for widgets, expose, volume, play/pause etc. So when I press that button (say F8) the music starts playing. So how do I "press it right". Do I need to press another button with it. Or is it preferences.

How do I get photos to open in Preview in their Actual Size? I have checked the Preferences to open photos in Actual Size but it still zooms out leaving me to have to zoom in. I have also checked off 'Respect image and screen DPI for scale.'
Also during slideshows, how can I get the photos to be viewed in actual size? Is there a better app out there designed at what I'm getting at here?
I am trying to understand the concept of the app store. Generally I am not very fond of purchasing apps this way. Not having much experience yet. My biggest concern:
What if I need an older version of an app. I always only see the actual version in the store.
For example: I will certainly stay on Snow Leopard for a long time. More and more apps require at least Lion. Once, lets say in 5 years, when I may need to make a new install of all my things (still 10.6.8 tough) how can I be sure to be able to still get the software I always used, in a version that works in 10.6.8?
I always have copies of apps I use. But in 5 years, will I be able to load it onto a new installed 10.6.8 Mac and run it? Would it only run after App Store confirmed I have actually bought it? Will it confirm a software 5 years old or force me to download y new version?

Anyways, my iMac config is:

Now, I called Apple, and he said it shouldn't matter, but I need the order receipt and UPC label to match, what now?
So as I wait for WWDC to purchase my UMB, I've been reading about this debate b/w iworks and office. The story from an apple "genius" - iWorks allows you to open any office file (Word, excell or PPT) and work with in the native OS system without difficulty. You can also save to any of the above formats - so file transfers and exchange between workers/users should be seamless. So why get office? "Genius" answer: It's primarily for those that are comfortable with the way office looks, ie format. What I've been reading in this forum is that people do get both IWorks and Office for Macs (which apparently is not very robust), some go with boot camp and Office for Win. What are the actual differences? Other than how one looks over the other. Is there anything you can't do with iWork and need office?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAs far as i can make out, all the photos I see in iPhoto are copies of the original. But where are the original ones, then?
I usually connect my camera to the mac and the photos get copied form there, I know this much.
When I use Finder to try to locate a photo, it is iPhoto that opens it - I don't seem to have a choice. I might want to open the original photo in another program, for example.
