ITunes :: 10 Keeps Creating Temp File.tmp Files?
May 15, 2012I am using iTunes 10.6.1 (7) on Lion 10.7.4 and I have (yet again) noticed that iTunes has started creating multiple copies of Temp File.tmp in the iTunes folder. It creates a copy every single time I do anything inside iTunes, including skipping a track or checking the iTune store. I thought that maybe my ClamXav Sentry scanner was causing issues so I removed the iTune directory from the scan and even shut it down alltogether. I have not shared my iTunes library either so I can se no reason that anything else is holding onto this file and causing iTunes to create a copy of the iTunes Music Library.xml file. Its simple starts at some random time and they stops just as randomly. However this time is particularly bad as EVERYTHING I do inside iTunes caused the problem.Â

Mar 9, 2009I've used Handbrake to encode several movies. Because I wanted them as "lossless" as possible they were encoded used H.264 (and are m4v files) and are in the 7-8GB range.
I'm not actually importing the movies but just pointing iTunes to the drive they sit on. For some reason it won't add them to the iTunes library. What gives? Is there a file size limit?

In Preview, you can open multiple PDFs in the same window, but if you print (or Save to PDF from the print dialogue, it will only do each document as is. I would like to avoid loading multiple pages into Word and then exporting to PDF and I would also like to avoid having to buy Acrobat. Is this PDF function limited in OS X or am I missing something?

OS X :: Finding Best File Type For Movies?
Dec 16, 2010However, I am not sure what file type I should be creating or the codecs I should be using (video and audio). If the file type isnt supported by the TV, I will play the file on my comp and use the TV as an external display, so dont worry about that.
Could someone tell me the specs of the files I should be creating (and a decent app to use as well)?
I have googled this but can't find anything very good. If anyone knows of a site explaining this stuff, let me know.
MacBook Pro :: Unable To Play .vob File From DVDs With Transferred Super8 Movies
Mar 29, 2012I have an old DVD custom made from old super - 8 home movies. It plays well in a home DVD player meant to plug into the TV. My MBP 15" mid-2010 8x SuperDrive optical drive cannot play this - on calling up the files to be played, I see a folder with grayed-out files. Furthermore, I can't get out of the DVD player easily and have to do the Force Quit to shut down the program and use Disc Utility to eject the disc. (I use Disc Utility to dismount all types of discs, by habit).My SuperDrive works fine for commercial DVD movies, reading and writing CDs, etc. The "home movies" DVD's file extensions are: .vob, .ifo, .bup. The "home movie" files are:
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOBÂ and so on for the chapters
Do I need to have the "home movie" DVD remastered in a different format?

So what do I Do? I can get a friend from canada to buy me an itunes gift card but can I use it here ? or even a paypal one? Sep 21, 2008I saw a couple of other threads talking about this and thought we should have a thread where you can show off and share your own custom made Genre thumbnails. In case your not sure how to do it this is a good guide: [URL]. Basically you need to create a jpeg, put it in the right folder (iTunes>Contents>Resources) with the correct name and then adjust a tiny bit of information in the genre plist.
Its very simple and people who have no experience with this kind of stuff will be able to do it easily. Also if (like me) you are annoyed at the fact that some genres are missing you can add your own in the exact same way as in he link posted. Note in mine that Action & Adventure are now two separate genres and i've added Gangster, Kung Fu, Comic & Anime. Mine are all supposed to be the best films of that genre (ok maybe not Transformers ). Pic link now added, download!

Feb 6, 2009Alright, so I have two songs by The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and With a Little Help from My Friends. If you don't already know, these songs cut into each other, so if you play With a Little Help right after Sgt. Pepper, it will sound like one song (this was intended). What my problem is is that the way that the songs are sorted (by Artist), With a Little Help from My Friends is before Sgt. Pepper, where it should be vice-versa. Is there any way I can fix this problem, without having to change the way the songs are sorted (I like them organized that way) or creating a playlist? Maybe an Applescript or application?

Feb 11, 2009I have several thousand songs organized with a certain Artist/Album/Song structure. I also have uncategorized folders in my music folder with a bunch of random songs inside. Is there a way to sort the music list in iTunes by location, so I can choose all the songs in that folder to add to a playlist, or can I make a smart playlist that takes all the songs in the folder (and scans for new ones whenever)? If not, is there something else I can do to accomplish this?
