I subscribe some podcast. Missing some episode I downloaded them manually. How to make them appear in PODCASTS Folder and not in MUSIC Folder (iTunes 10.6.1/Lion 10.7.3)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I did a backup of my iTunes database on my PC and restored it on my new mac I have just discovered that I now have two Podcasts folders, one within the Music folder and another one within my Music:iTunes folder. As far as I can see all the podcasts inside the iTunes program is pointing to the files in the Music:Podcasts folder. Another strange thing is that all the podcast files I have is found in the Music:Podcasts folder but in the Music:iTunes:Podcasts folder only a part of my podcasts are found. Since I'm still new on a Mac I'm a little confused about this . Could any of you please tell me what the default position of the Podcasts folder is in Mac OS?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have 10.6.7 Podcast producer and mac minis with 10.6.8 and a ADVC-110 Canopus conected to firewire and recording by a java app developed to schedule our recordings based on a database which has all the dates of classes. All the macminis has a Energy Saver Schedule to shutdown at 12:00am and starts at 07:00am And all the mac minis in the podcast capture preferences are binded to the server and has the quality choose on good having a file of 271mb per hour. But the problem goes here, every file that is uploaded to the podcast server are really big we are talking about a 1h :20m are about 16gb. So my server is really really slow trying to encode this files. Is any other way to force podcast capture to capture smaller files? i dont know if the problems is in configuration or in our advc 110 I have been testing different versions of mac os x and the only one that the codification of best, good and better works was in the 10.6.4. Even lion fail on the codification of the video. The problem is that we have mac mini 2011 and i cannot install 10.6.4 only run 10.6.8... Â

I had deleted my files from iTunes media folder, but as luckily I had the same files located in other place I just copied them to the iTunes Media but iTunes rejects to play them (in my iTunes Library). I'm only able to play them if I go through the procedure as followings: Play - "iTunes unable to open this file because the original file not found. Do you want to find it?" (or smith like that) - Find - Open and then it plays, but I have to perform these actions with every file separately and I have quite a lot of them. Oh, and after that first popping-up window the next one appears "Would you like iTunes to find other missing files from the same location as [the file's name]?" But when I click on "Find" it says "iTunes were unable to find other missing files". Why? How do I accomplish the same task but with all my albums at once without necessity to add them one by one? Does there some way exists to tie the tracks from my albums with original files without importing them to my iTunes library?Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get rid of an offending "TipsSmart" (no spaces, I hate that) in the title. I can bring up the info window, and I can change the Album name, which does in fact change the name of the relevant directory in the iTunes library. Unfortunately, when I go back to look at my iTunes subscriptions the name of the podcast doesn't change. In fact, the name of the podcast is comprised of text that's not contained in any file in my iTunes library. I can't figure out where it gets the name so I can edit it.

It is in MP3 format. When I added it to library it appears in my "music" library, not the podcast directory.
I have even placed the file into the folder containing the podcasts downloaded from itunes and changed the "genre" setting to podcast but it will not appear in that list.
I am new to Itunes and tried to set up a smart playlist for my podcasts. However, when i try to select from the drop down menu to get started i do not see "PodCasts" as an option? I see everything else ie, Album, album artist, artist, etc. but NO podcast? What do i need to do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a MacBook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 with 228 free GB of 500 capacity. I am updated on iTunes with 11.2.2.Â
When ever I am on the My Podcasts page in iTunes and scrolling through my subscriptions I am consistently getting the pinwheel and am reading that the application is not responding. It is not affecting my ability to use other applications like safari or browse the internet so whenever this issue comes up I simply change applications and check back to itunes a couple minutes later to see if it has since gone away. It usually only takes a couple of minutes but it is geting increasingly frustrating as it happens consistently. I have noticed that it happens particularly more often or faster if I am scrolling through my podcast feed too fast. Â
So I listen to a couple podcasts on the regular and the iTunes store is not updated, basically a day behind. Anyone having similar issues or heard about this at all? FYI the two podcasts are the BS Report by Bill Simmons from ESPN and the Dan Patrick show. Not the biggest deal as I can stream them directly from the podcast websites via safari, but of course I can't get them in my iPod/iPhone till I get home.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI transferred files from an old computer, incl some audio files. The files were just sitting in a normal folder (some time ago manually copied out of the iTunes Music folder on the old Mac) and named sth like "Song_x.mp3" where x is a running number. I selected all and dragged them onto iTunes on the new Mac (10.5.6). To my surprise some of them ended up in the Music folder, some in Podcasts. In fact all of them had originally been podcast downloads, but why does iTunes not recognize some of them as such? Or the other way around, what makes iTunes think that a certain file is a podcast?
There were no XML files or anything else with meta or subscription data among the files I copied, so the info must be stored in the MP3 files themselves. How? Special ID3 tags? Which ones? How can I edit them? Ultimately, I'd like to have all those files in the Podcasts folder under the same Podcast. I tried this nifty utility:

But it creates a new subfolder in Podcasts. What can I do to convince iTunes that those "music" files should really go into the same Podcast folder with the rest of them?
iTunes won't download most podcast artwork for me.. especially with video podcasts (some audio ones do have the album art).
I have to manually add the art per-episode..
I upgraded to iTunes 9 and then downloaded some new podcasts. ITunes is putting each new podcast episode into a new group in the thumbnail view. In Finder, all the episodes still remain under one folder though.
Any ideas on how to fix?

Basically, the screensaver is displaying all of my podcast 'album covers', where as I really just want it to show the album covers in my music library. Is there a way to get the screensaver to ignore the podcasts? I was thinking maybe the easiest way to do it would be to move the podcasts folder in my iTunes library to another directory rather than in 'music', but would that mean iTunes would save new podcasts to the new directory or save in the original automatic spot?

I've downloaded (or attempted to download) the same video Podcast 5 times. Each time, the file fully downloads, disappears from the Downloads screen, but does not appear in the Podcasts screen. I'm having problems with podcast artwork not showing up. I normally download my podcasts through iTunes, and for several feeds, album art shows up in the iTunes Store but isn't embedded in the files I download. I always figured that the providers were just somehow not embedding the art in the individual files, but then I noticed that when I download the files directly from my iPhone, they show up just fine. To test it out, I tried two copies of the same file -- one downloaded directly to the phone and another synced from iTunes -- and got the same result: one with album art, one without.
