I need to know how to store multiple DVD movies onto one DVD.
I was told to download a free software called "Handbrake", but I cannot find the free download for the version that is compatible with my 10.5.8 Mac OS X.
Is there a way to import and burn the DVDs without downloading software?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy new DVD burner will play CDs and DVDs and burn CDs, but will not burn DVDs through the finder. Will getting TOAST definitely enable me to burn DVDs? I don't really need it otherwise and I would rather not buy it unless it will definitely enable me to burn DVDs.

So I was trying to copy a DVD I put in my imac that I recorded on my video camera. I hit the COPY DVD and its working, but its saying its going to take up over 2GB of space for a 50 minute recording, & there is no cancel option! I'm trying to cancel the copying process and it won't let me. The Red X in the top left corner is grayed out, and there's nothing on the top menu options. Why is this happening? I thought it was supposed to be easy to put your DVDs right to the hard drive.

I'm new to using the Mac. I currently have the Macbook Pro as well as the 24" iMac. I have been trying and trying to burn some CDs and well as DVDs but have no idea how to do it. Could someone lead me to a link or give me directions on how to do it please? I usually use Nero on my PC, but would hate to go back n forth for this operation. Also, I rip alot of my DVDs as a back up as well as to watch them on my HD player. Normally I would use DVD Shrink on my PC. Am I able to do the same on Mac or do I need an additional software?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently came back from a holiday to find that my CD/DVD drive on my intel iMac has stopped working properly. If i put any sort of CD or DVD in the slot in makes a few sounds a just pops it back out about 3 seconds later.
Any ideas on what i could try to get it working again. Maybe reinstalling firmware or something.
I can't burn anything...I insert the DVD and choose "write from video_TS folder " or something(i can't remember it correctly).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a G5 PowerMac and it has a SuperDrive. I can still watch DVDs but I cannot burn them. When I put in a blank it just spits them out. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but my iDVD is not compatable with the version of OSX I am running. I can't even burn music onto a DVD from itunes. CDs work fine though.

About 3 days ago I noticed that I couldn't burn a dvd using Roxio's Toast 10. I would receive a medium write error.
I tried a second time with the same results.
I then moved to itunes which I have updated to the fullest version and tried to burn a playlist to cd and also received a medium write error.
Finally I tried to burn the original dvd using disk utility and it almost worked up until it hung on finishing. The funny thing about the run with disk utility was that the disk played in my home dvd player with no problems despite quitting the burn prematurely.
I'm looking for an application that's simple to use. I need it to burn my personally owned DVD's to my hard drive so I can view them when I don't have the DVD handy.

Because it was a simple burn, I was going to use finder. For some reason, I can't. This is the window that pops up when I try to choose "Open with Finder" Code: The operation can�t be completed because you don�t have the necessary permission. Not sure whats up with that seeing as I am admin on my MBP. I have repaired permissions and that didn't work. Weird still, I can burn in iTunes and Toast. Anyone have any ideas of what is going on?

I used Verbatim DVD-R Advanced Azo +. The problem is when I clic to burn the Toast window shows preparing and after that nothing is happening, like everythings just stops. I have to restart my MBP to eject the DVD. When I put it again, it shows that is empty? Do you have any clue? I used Toast 8 Titanium.

This happens again and again, and it's EXTREMELY irritating.
I am trying to import some existing JPEGs on my Desktop. When I try Import in Aperture, the file browser simply does not see most files and folders. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to happen on a whim. This is very bad, I have just about had it with Aperture. And yes, permissions are set correctly.
On what basis Aperture sees or does not see certain files/folders?
My G4 12" PowerBook will not burn DVDs with the newer 8x or faster DVDs.
It has the 2x burner in it and I have't been able to burn DVDs since I ran out of 2x disk some time ago. (I can't find any 2x disk around here any more.)
I've been burning DVDs and I've noticed Toast needs to encode the movie before it burns it. What exactly is encoding? Is it converting? Also, what format does Toast use to burn DVDs?

It is .AVI, and I had to use Perian to view it in QuitckTime.. no biggie.
However when I went to burn it to a CD I gave BURN a shot. It had to convert the files in order to be able to create a DVD player compatible DVD.
This process was taking forever...... Is this normal with any program?
What about using iDVD or other DVD making software?? Would it be any quicker at converting?
Open to suggestions....
