Jun 26, 2008I cannot connect a macbook to the d-link di-524. Macbook model: MB403LL/A 13.3". When I try to connect thru the AirPort the connection gets timed-out. As far as I understand the problem is with the security system. The DI-524 is set-up for WEP 64bit HEX and i tried using the laptop set-up for WEP password with 40-128 bit range with HEX configuration. When I remove the security system from the router, connection is easy.

Jun 17, 2009I have a three month old unibody MacBook, and up until yesterday, AirPort seemed to be working just fine, but over the past 15 hours or so, it has lost its wireless connection to the router four times. Two of the times, AirPort reconnected to the router on its own within a matter of seconds. One of the other times, AirPort said that it was enabled but not connected to any networks, and I had to manually reselect my router in the drop-down to reconnect. Now this morning, AirPort lost its connection to the router yet still showed that it was properly connected, but I couldn't access my network or the Internet at all. As soon as I disabled and re-enabled AirPort, everything was fine.
On top of this, I also got my first kernel panic yesterday for seemingly no reason while I was submitting a post to a forum, and I've submitted dozens of posts to that forum before without problem, so the forum can't be to blame. Normally one random disconnect from my router wouldn't be alarming, but four disconnects in the last 15 hours combined with a kernel panic that may or may not be related certainly has me searching for answers. I'm certainly quite confounded, especially considering that I haven't modified anything with my system, nor have I installed any programs in a long time. Should I be alarmed, or could this all be some coincidence?

I have an Airport Express that I want to connect through an ethernet port to the AT&T router. Its a 2Wire 3800. I've read up a lot on how you need to set up the DHCP and Static IPs and stuff, but I just cant get it to work.

Mar 11, 2010I have a Macbook Air Rev.C 1.86GHz and just yesterday, it stopped connecting to my D-Link wireless router. There have not been any updates applied to the router or the Mac recently, nor have I installed any apps to the Mac either. My iPhone sees and connects to the router fine, as does my MSI netbook, and my TabletPC too. I have turned the router off numerous times in trying to troubleshoot this, and only for a minute or two, does the Mac see the router and connect getting an IP. It then loses the connection shortly after. I have turned off the Mac's Airport a number of times, I have reset the SMB (I think, using the ctrl/shift/option/Power button while off, letting go, then pressing the Power Button only).

Everyone else in my house can connect to the Router but for some reason I can't - I try going through the network diagnostics for Airport and the first 2 steps turn green, but the rest remain red. It keeps changing from 'No IP Address' to something about a self-adressed IP address. I went into my network utilities and it appears that I don't have an IP address (according to that)? Right now it's just impossible to connect to the Internet.

Aug 28, 2010Recently I have been having issues loading internet content. When I try to load almost any website, my internet browser acts like it is searching for my wireless router and can't find it. However, when I use my PSP to connect to the internet from the same spot, it works perfectly fine. The PSP usually says there is a 70% connection, which is better than it has ever been. My router and laptop are on the same floor only a room away.
I have other people in my house that share the router: 6 computers; 4 are laptops that are used more often than the 2 desktops, 4 iPod Touches; 2 of which are never used. I had everyone turn off Bluetooth on all devices since none of us use that feature and that didn't help all.
I honestly don't know what the problem is, but if I had to make a guess, it would be all of the things that our devices can connect to with AirPort. There is Motorola, 2WIRE017, 2WIRE160, 2WIRE417, 2WIRE730, MartinWirelessRouter, NorzWireless, NETGEAR, schooly, and stackdaddy. I think all of these wireless connections are disrupting one another, which is what I thought was causing the problem. The only one I ever care to connect to is Motorola, so is there a way to prevent my computer from even recognizing anything else?

Mar 13, 2009I have a 2.4 Gh Aluminum iMac running OSX 10.5.6. I connect to the internet via Windstream and a Speedstream 4200 DSL modem. I am trying to connect a Netgear WNR2000 Wireless-N Router to the system but even after I go through all of the power up sequence as described in the user manual, I can not connect to the internet with the router connected to the iMac and modem. I can not access the router through the iMac either. All of the lights on the router that are suppose to be on are indeed on, although the ethernet light on the router is orange instead of blue like the rest of the lights. I called Netgear technical support and that was the most painful and fruitless tech support call of my life (I'm not sure if the tech support person had ever seen a Mac let alone know how to troubleshoot one). how to get this router to work with my iMac and DSL modem?

Aug 4, 2008I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router (v. 6), a brand new iMac (Intel, OS 10.5.4), and an older iBook (G3, OS 10.3.9). I can configure the router using the iBook with no problems. Afterwards, the iBook shows an IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Router under the iBook's Network Preferences. The iMac detects the wifi network I set up using the iBook (for example, "mywifi") but cannot obtain an IP address or other configurations. Sometimes the iMac says Airport has a self-assigned IP address but can't get on the Internet, sometimes it says it has no IP address. I have removed all WPA securities/encryptions to simplify the process, but the iMac still can't see the router. I tried to ping the router from the iMac and no packages were received, 100% loss.

I'm not the best when it comes to Networks, or even router configuration. I'll just put that out there, in case I've missed something obvious.
My router connection (DLink 2640B) was working perfectly fine before I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Now I cannot connect to any wireless network, and I cannot connect to the router administration page, either
(192.168.1.1).
The internet connection still works fine on two other laptops. Also, I can connect this iMac via the ethernet cable.
I've tried deleting the files NetworkInterfaces.plist, com.apple.network.identification.plist, and preferences.plist; I've tried rebooting my router; I've tried creating a new network. Airport sees all the networks, tries to connect, then it just says that it fails.
