View 1 RepliesI don't know why but a recently I've been asked to enter my icloud password related to my iCloud e-Mail address. stupidly, I've forgot what my password is. is there a chance to reset it somehow?
To explain the situation a bit better and what I've tried already, here a short discription of the situation:
- I do have a appleID that is called firstname.lastname@gmail.com the related password is appleID_Password1.
with this combination I also conduct my purchases in iTunes and the AppStore. But to rule this possibility already out: It doesn't let me access my iCloud eMail account in Apple Mail. Funny enough, though, when visiting iCloud.com this is the combination with which I log onto iCloud incl it's mail service within the web browser.
- the iCloud eMail address for whose password I am looking is called something like abcde@me.com. I have implemented it into my Apple Mail program running on Mac OS X Lion. Since setting up the account i've never ever been asked to enter my password. But now, out of a sudden, I was. And, of course, I couldn't remember it anymore. Hence, I don't receive any eMails sent to abcde@me.com anymore on my mac.
Can somebody tell me how to fix it, if it is not the password for my appleID??

When I try to use .mac mail, it asks for a mail.mac.com password but I don't remember the mac Mail password I gave when I set up my MacBook. How can I find it or reset it so I can use my mail (I've been using mail through my provider all this time).

Given that when setting up the iCloud account on Mail no password, as far as I remember, the procedure does not ask for a password (that infact is inexistent), I wonder why sometimes a dialog box like this one appears. It'a little bit bothering, as I have to press the "Cancel" button to dismiss it: the account works fine, though, and it couldn't be different, as I have no idea of what to write in that dialog box.

They backed my new laptop up with my old hard drive so now i got my old stuff on the new one. I want to download this application so i can fix this .zip file but i need the admin password. I've tried using the install discs but they tell me to enter the admin. I've tried putting the install disc in and pushing c on start up but it just freezes on the white screen with the apple. Is there something wrong with my computer? should i contact the insurance company who i dealt with?

I keep getting the annoying message "The iCloud IMAP server "p01-imap.mail.me.com" rejected the password for user xxxxx" Enter your password again or cancel.This annoying message pops up randomly every few hours on all of my devices running Mail. After talking to Apple support a few times, the problem was escalated to a Specialist who suggested the following:
1) Change the "Check for Mail interval" from Every Minute to a longer interval (e.g. Every 5 minutes).Maybe I don't understand the way that iCloud IMAP works, but I thought only POP mail requires a specified interval for polling for new mail. The beauty of IMAP should be that all events and changes to Mail are reflected instantly to all devices.
2) Change your Mail pasword. I didn't want to do that because it would take a lot of work on the number of OS X and iOS devices that I own.

I have not been able to get incoming mail on either of my iMacs. I can send but not recieve. My iPhone and iPads do get mail but neither iMac. I have read here to change password. I did that and it is the same. This has been going on for 3 days now.

I just set up icloud on my mac and now my mail won't recognize my password. Formerly, on mobileme i had the main computer which was pre-intel so now I'm switching to my intel mac. Everything is fine on cloud, all the data is there, but on my computers (intel computer and also pre-intel) when I try to check my mail it keeps saying that it doesn't recognize the password. I get mail fine on my iphone, and when I log into icloud but not on my computers (pre-intel or intel).

I just switched to iCloud from MobileMe, and my Mail program now tells me that my password is not correct. I've gone so for as to delete the account and add it again, and it still will not accept the password. I know the password is correct, it works on this site, as well as directly in iCloud, and on my iPhone, it's only the Mail program that it won't work in.

I have not been able to receive or send any mails from my mac or ipod touch. When I get onto the icloud. site I can see that my mails are coming through so it seems to be a port/server problem with mail settings.
Have tried every trick posted online - deleted old account and set it up again, changed port settings to 993 and reconfigured for imap.

Mail has been rejecting my wife's password. This started happening when we were still on Snow Leopard and had moved from mobile me to icloud. Someone said we needed to update to Lion to fix it. I have checked the account settings and they are as suggested. I have no problem with my iPad or my iPhone which are both running iOS 5+, and my password works fine everywhere else Apple,
It happens at least once per day, and when I cancel the request for password in a few minutes, without further action on my part, Mail decides it does know my password after all! Not debilitating, but mildly annoying.Could this be an icloud issue? Maybe they need to work on this? Or (gasp) is it just me!

I am using Mail for my various email accounts but the two imap accounts (AOL and iCloud) frequently get into a mode of demanding the password when Mail is launched. It might take up to 10 inputs to stop 'looping' the demand for the password.

My iCloud email works without any problems usually. But I keep getting this message at random times — usually after I quit mail, or my computer goes to sleep:What do I do? I have just upgraded my MacbookPro and my MacPro from 10.6 to 10.7.
For whatever reason - the MBP works fine and can access all my email accounts, whilst the MP is constantly rejecting the password for iCloud.
My Mobileme account was upgraded to iCloud several months ago and has been in daily use on both macs ever since.
The only difference in the upgrades is that the MBP upgrade was not a clean install, whereas the MP was installed with a clean hard drive and then all apps/data was transfered over. Disk permissions have been repaired and that has made no difference.
Both macs are on the same network, with the same passwords and same account settings.

I just installed a new application for my Macbook Pro but when I clicked to use it. It asked for my password. I typed my password but it says it's wrong. Everytime Mail tries to connect to a server called "p03-imap.mail.me.com" and pops up the message that my password is rejected for my user name. This started happening without me doing anything to my settings. Strangely enough, on my iPhone and my newly acquired iPad2 this issue does not appear. Has something changed on the me.com servers ?
