I've got a macbook which is logged out of a user, and I can't remember my password! Is there anyway to reset/force login, without logging in? I looked around on google, but couldn't find much about doing it from the login window.

Currently I am out of the country and I don't have the original disk to reset my user (login) name and password. Please let me know if there is an another way to resolve this problem.
I recently got my computer fixed and ended up getting a new one. it is a mac book laptop. I changed the password before it got sent and i completely forgot it. They backed my new laptop up with my old hard drive so now i got my old stuff on the new one. I want to download this application so i can fix this .zip file but i need the admin password. I've tried using the install discs but they tell me to enter the admin. I've tried putting the install disc in and pushing c on start up but it just freezes on the white screen with the apple. Is there something wrong with my computer? should i contact the insurance company who i dealt with?

Hi! Im new to the forums but i really need help with something and i was hoping someone here could help me out. So I just installed Tech Tool Deluxe onto my macbook and then shut it down later. I went back to use it again and when i turned it on a login screen appeared asking me to put in my password. I did that and the screen turned blue (looking like it was loading) and then went back to the login screen. Every time i put in my password it just takes me back to the login screen. I have had my mac for a while and i dont want my hardrive to get wiped out so what do i do? Thank you for looking
I finally decided to do all the back up and such to update the system. It was one of those if it ain't broken don't fix it type situations. I just installed Leopard to my old 14" Mac G4 laptop. Everything was going fine until the first screen dialog box asked for my password. I tried the usual suspects.. even my hint was "the usual one" and I cannot get the computer to accept it or anything else. I am in a loop and cannot get any further. The dialogue box gives you log in, restart and shut down. Is there a work around? How do I get out of this mess? I am in deep poop as I need to access my computer. What can I do... I'm logging on to someone else's computer until I can get back into mine.
I set up a password protected file and I cannot remember the password. Is there anyway to retrieve the information safely locked away in this file without the password or is it lost forever?
I have a MacBook Pro 2008. Unfortunately I forgot my username and password in my Mac, so I can't create or delete any files. Is it possibe to do something with it, or I have to reload the new OS?
I purchased a new Mac and had to deauthorize all computers in itunes because I had over 5. I authorized the current 2 computers but when I go to play some older music in itunes I get a pop up to authorize the computer with my old itunes account which hasn't been used for over 6-7 years. I have no clue as to what the password was and the e-mail on the account id is no longer valid. how to get access to this account or merge to my current account.

My friend has forgot her password and cannot login. She is running os 10.4 on iBook G4 800mhz. I told her to insert the original OS CD, restart while holding down the C key and then click on options - change password when it has booted into the original CD. However, it just boots straight to the login screen.
I can't remember what the password was because I stopped using that laptop for a while. And now I can't update my computer or do anything and it's really slow.
