ICloud :: Syncing Account And 'On My Mac' Contacts?
Jul 5, 2012I have a HTC and so to sync my contacts to my mac I've synced the 'on my mac' account to my google contacts. I also have an active iCloud account and so I have duplicate contacts. Is there any way to either sync google to iCloud directly or to sync iCloud to the 'on my mac' account? I want to remove the duplicates and and the need to update accounts separately?

Mar 25, 2012I have tried to sinchronize the Contacts in my iMac, but it doesn´t work. I have linked my iMac to iCloud. When I go to iCloud directly through Internet, I can see the "Contacts" I haver in iCloud. I have 6,624 contacts. The list of contactas can be seen in both iCliud and on my Mac. But when I add new contacts in my iMac (today I added 4), it doesn´t synchronize. The new contacts do not appear in the Cloud. How can I establish a good link so synchronization can effectively take place?

Aug 28, 2014I run Contacts on both my iPad2 and my iMac; I find that in the listing to the left of the Contacts on the iMac, 'All iCloud' appears twice; one with 519 entries (which is correct) and the other with 78 entries, 77 of them also in the other one. They are synced via iCloud, not iTunes; I've tried to sort this by exporting the vCards to my desktop and then attempting to trash Contacts and reinstall but this is not permitted as it's 'required by OSX', which seems reasonable. It sometimes becomes a problem when I'm using lists and discover that some people are not on the list I am using because - for some inexplicable (to me, at least) reason, they're on the other iCloud list.

Apr 16, 2012I have the latest OS X Lion (10.7.3) and iTunes. On iTunes the Sync to Contacts, Sync to Mail, Sync to Calendars and the notes in Others are checked but the boxes in Advanced are not. The iCloud is logged in (in System Preferences) with the default settings.
If won't sync the contacts from the iPhone to either the Address Book in the iMac (late 2009 model) nor the one in iCloud. I've reported this at the iPhone Feedback page as a bug but I could be doing something wrong.

Jun 25, 2012I have an iMac, Air and iPhone 4S, all up-to-date. I did my iCloud migration a few weeks ago. Everything seemed to work; I especially tested Calendar and verified that an event created on each device would appear on/disappear from the others. However, over the past few days I have realized that iCloud sync of Contacts/AddressBook is only working on the iPhone. Cards that I have created on the iMac and Air do not appear on the phone, but cards that I create on the iPhone do appear on the others.
After readng some similar questions here, I checkef SysPrefs on the Air, discovered MobileMe was still the default for AddressBook, changed it (in two places) to iCloud... and now have a complete set of duplicate entries in the Air, but still no sync up to iCloud. (I created new cards to check, and also checked iCloud.com to make sure the data is there. It is, no dupes — but also none of the cards I created on the Air before or after changing the default.)

I know that in Windows you can use Outlook to receive/request a return receipt when the receiver opens the e-mail. When I turn my Mac on it goes through the boot up process and as it about to come to the desktop image it selects the HD Mac as if I had pressed it with the mouse and then starts the cancel sound bonging away until I press the escape button on the keyboard.This normally keeps it at bay. Although on occasion it suddenly selects it again and starts playing the cancel sound again. When I unplug the keyboard it doesn't make that sound at all. I hate the wireless keyboard but wonder if I buy another wired one will it start making the same noise again?

IMac :: How To Return To Normal Boot Order
Sep 3, 2010I created a ubuntu live disc and tried it in my iMac. So I went into system preference=> start up disc and changed the boot order in order to test the disc. Now when I booted my computer this morning it automatically went to booting from the disc even when the disc was not in the drive. I thought it should have just gone back to booting from the hard drive. Does anyone know what I have to do in order to put the boot order back to mac hd?
