I had gotten a book some time ago from a third party source, and it was saved as a .epub file on my computer. After I upgraded to Mavericks, I was able to open this using iBooks. I know that it is possible to sync purchased books (from the iBooks store) to an iPad from a Mac, but I didn't buy this in the iBooks store, and I wanted to read the book on my iPad. Is there any simple way I can transfer the book, preferably wirelessly?

This has been bugging me and it'll be another week or two until I can get my hands on one. So, what's the little light (if it is even a light) on the right hand side of the front of the unit?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a quite a few books on iTunes books, which I read using iBook. Now, I need to upgrade my computer....
I know where the music folder is, which i will copy into new computer and rebuild iTunes database.
But, where are the books?
I have a few hundred books in my iTunes. Everytime I add more books they are by default added to all my devices. Is there a way to do a mass select or un-select in the book selection of iTunes. I normally only keep the current book I am reading on my device. You can select and un-selected in mass for the music just not the books which seems strange.

I receive hundreds of business cards and I would like to retain the information digitally, but would not like to input them all in my Address Book as I don't want to have thousands of entries. This could get especially tiresome while scrolling through my iPhone contacts database, you know? Do people keep multiple Address Books, like for either work or personal? I can't imagine CEO's like Steve Jobs keeps the info of tens of thousands of people they meet all in one Address Book.
I bought a Penpower Card Scanner which has it's own database for business cards which I haven't played with yet. I was planning to keep a database there and the cards that turn out to be useful I would export into Address Book. Let me know if anyone has any insights into this matter. A Google search surprisingly bred few results.

I am considering putting together an IPhoto book as an 18th birthday present for my daughter. I'm thinking the picture oriented book. Has anyone else bought one of these books, and what do you think of them?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI really would like to learn to use the console and terminal on my macs-do any of you know of a good manual, book or otherwise that could serve as a guide? I am hesitant to simply fumble around and learn that way (which is how I've learned everything else) because it is my understanding that one can do serious damage when playing around in terminal!
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'd like to add a second contacts/address book, comprised only of wok related contacts. I realize I can list them all in the original book and then add a group called work. However, I'd prefer to keep them completely separated from my other contacts. Anyway I can do that? Also, if I can do it, will the effort be duplicated on my iPhone?
View 4 Replies View RelatediTunes 9.2 just came out. I am trying to add all my PDF's as books but is becoming really daunting. For some reason it will not let me add whole folders of pfd's using import (apple+O). I can import if I select a bunch but its time consuming since I have levels and levels of PDF's. An easier way of importing them. Also was this intended or maybe a bug?

I use my iMac for keeping tabs on a list of recuring events throughout the years as well as over the years. The events generally follow in particular months each year and have new attendees as well as returning participants from previously held events who continue to attend the events.
I have kept records in Word for Mac, on Pages & Numbers, but nothing works best like Address Book. I have several hundred participants that I would like to reorganize into a central location and find that Address Book might be best suited for the task. The problem is that I would like to keep separate these names and dates from my personal/business Address Book if at all possible.
"Can two Address Books exist on the iMac, each with its own intended purpose? Namely, Address Book 1 (Personal) and Address Book 2 (Events)?

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro and had my local apple store transfer my iTunes library from my old iMac to my new MacBook. To look at it on the screen, everything looks fine. But when I try to download my book that I purchased from audible.com to my new iPod it's telling me, "Some of the Audible files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer."
