I have Lion 10.7.2 and am running Safari version 5.1.2, hopefully I am good so far. I'm not sure what hapenned, I must have done something, but one day my address bar decided it wanted to play hide and seek and it won....the "show toolbar" option does nothing upon clicking it, neither does the "customize toolbar" option.

on my old G5 iMac I was able to add icons to the toolbar (the items on the top of the screen--date, airport etc. icons). i.e. mail (and it would alert me when I had a new msg) and calendar. Can't seem to find how to do it with my Intel 10.6.2 iMac.

I've managed to get most of my apps text sizes ok for me to see (though FF skews things up a bit), but I find my toolbar icons and text size to be a bit small for me.
Two main apps cause me grief. Mail and Office. I can't seem ti find anywhere where I can increase the size of the toolbar icons. In mail i can use Large icons, but that doesn't affect the toolbar. In Office (mainly Word/Excel) I can't seem to find anything at all.
Ever since upgrading to SL on launch, and then 10.6.1 whenever it came out, I seem to get this graphic problem a fair bit: [URL]. Application toolbar options overlap each other.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have only recently discovered that mac is by far better than microsoft. However, I have always been fond of firefox, and especially the search toolbar where you could add search engines as google books, google scholar, jstor, project muse etc. to. Does Safari have the offer the same opportunities? I have wasted over two hours to find out, but was unable to find it.

Safari was accidentally deleted from my MB pro. Im running OSx 10.6.8 with safari 5.0.5.I was able to install it again using the install disk and checked for any software updates but it still is not showing up in my toolbar.I searched and tried the view/customize to drag the default set to toolbar, made sure show toolbar is selected etc, but still no middle section of toolbar. When I would try to drag the default set to toolbar nothing happens. The toolbar area is being shown, with the left and right arrows (on the left) and the Google search window shows (on the right), but the center white window to type web address' is not.Â

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis issue has been annoying people for a number of years and all kinds of solutions have been posted by Geniuses, mainly to carefully dump the Safari .plist from the Preferences folder. That does not fix the issue! What does work is this: View, Enter FULL SCREEN. Click it 'OFF'. The display will resize and IF you want to stretch it bigger, you can BUT the Toolbar will stop disappearing!

Suddenly the toolbar at the top that shows the website and a spot to search google is gone. The only way I can access it is to go to Edit>Find>Google Search. Once I've searched the toolbar disappears again and then there is no "back" button, so if I need to search again I have to go back to Edit>Find>Google Search. UGH!

My Safari top toolbar rolls out of sight, this reappears once I move the cursor to the top of the screen but is annoying. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this? If look in View 'Hide Toolbar' is the first option at the top, this is greyed out and cannot do anything with it as a result.

The dock and toolbar at the top have disappeared from the screen. They re-appear when I click in the area where they should be but disappear once again whenever I click elsewhere. I have also lost the ability to minimize open windows. I can resize them manually, maximize and exit them I just cannot minimize them! (The orange button has gone grey.)
I have checked that I am not in fullscreen mode and I have unchecked all the automatic hide settings in the system preferences. This is only occuring when I'm using Mozilla Firefox.
I have a feeling that I accidentally clicked a button or unwittingly used a keyboard command to enter this setting, but I can't remember what I pressed!Â
