Will the software automatically update to Icloud from MobileMe. I do not have an account in mobileme but every time I try to sync my photos onto my mac (OSX Lion), the program asks me for my mobileme account information. If I input the Icloud info. It states I do not have a mobileme account. This has happened even if I try to get a mobileme account. How can I set this up for Icloud to work?

Why not have Apple move all iDisk contents automatically or by request to iCloud? Why do I need to copy and paste my saved iDisk items back to my MAC or storage device? The iDisk items are already located in an Apple server, so transfer them to iCloud.

I'm writing a long document in Pages, and I'm storing it in iCloud so I can edit it on my iPad. Do I have to manually download from iCloud.com when I start writing on my mac and re-upload to iCloud.com when I'm finished? It's automatic on Dropbox. I think it's automatic on iCloud, too, but Zi don't see how to do it.

I have an old pre-Intel G5 Mac desktop and want to keep using Mobile me Mail and Entourage because they work so well and I have been using them for 10 years. I cannot get the mail system to work having moved everything else to iCloud. Followed the instructions but it just does not work and the mail.mac.com server will not accept my password. Any ideas?

This used to be possible but the mail program has changed and now I can no longer figure out how to do this. Now, after I clean out my Inbox by deleting emails, I have to go back and "unread" selected mails so I can remember to go back to them. I realize I could flag everything of importance but I prefer to save flags for specific emails, not just ones that I haven't read yet.

I made the iCloud transition before June 30 with an unsupported platform (SnowLeopard) as Mountain Lion was not yet available for download (and still isn't). I followed the instructions for the migration provided by Apple, and while I can send and receive email, my contacts are GONE. Just installed Lion on my Early 2008 MacBook Pro. I am trying to setup iCloud Mail & Notes for the first time in the System Preferences. iCloud asks me to "Choose an email address." Since I updated to iCloud, (which may or may not be related) Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 and my old iMac has no problems. When there is no service a yellow warning triangle appears adjacent to the Inbox and Connection Doctor reports,"Trying to log into this MobileMe IMAP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct." Since it does fetch Mail from time to time they cannot be wrong.... can they? Should I update to 10.7 and if so what does that entail?

Writing this on behalf of my dad who is not that technical, he is the one having this problem. First he noticed that mail in his the mail.app was not working. He then tried logging into iCloud on the web but could not. He has one Apple ID which won't allow you to login anywhere, not iCloud, nor even this Apple Support Page.The Apple ID and password are definately correct and have never been changed. We have tried going to [url] to reset the password. After entering the Apple ID and hitting next, then selecting the option to answer security questions, first question, date of birth, comes back and says date of birth does not match records. So went back and selected email authentication. It then says that an email has been sent. The problem here is that he cannot access his email to receive the email notification. Mail is not working because of the problem with the account. Also cannot log into iCloud either to receive the email. I don't really want to create a new Apple ID, as this will cause a lot of hassle.

there is no replacement for MobileMe Gallery, and all of the albums that we have uploaded over the years will just go away. It is even more maddening as we have been paying customers for several years. I know we can redownload the pictures, but what the point? We uploaded the to share with loved ones.
