would I play a app from itunes on my Imac?

I have downloaded a song and when I go to play it...it bounces off of the song and will not play. I have iTunes 10.6.1......Apple charged me for the song already. I went to Support but could not find a solution specific to my issue. I have downloaded over 2500 songs and this has not happened before. This song was one of nine other songs I downloaded that evening...all others came through successfully.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my system HDD to an SSD with a new install of OSX 10.6.4 and mimicked the settings I had on my previous set up to replicate it. however, when for example I was using iTunes to play music the screen saver would come on and a short time later the system would pause iTunes and goes into Sleep mode.
my previous install never did that so I'm not sure if its because of the SSD and it not being mechanical it doesnt recognize it accessing or seeking 'per se' because regardless of unchecking "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" it still does it. here is an image of energy saver settings; btw I had the system plugged into and still went into sleep mode when iTunes was playing and even other media formats such as Video in iTunes or VLC.
I transferred all my itunes library to an external hard drive.I had all my songs in itunes and then went to "preferences" and set itunes to look on my external hard drive for my itunes. Then I went to "library" and then "consolidate", and it moved all my library over to my external. I can verify that my songs are all there on my externalHowever, now, itunes won't play any songs of mine. I double click on the song in itunes and it just wont play. There's no error message, there's no exclamation point, it just won't play. Any idea what is goign on? Preferences still shows that my library is directing to the external
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I was in my room in the dark for like two seconds, and i tried to switch the sound on the computer, but I couldn't really see anything. Then I decided to stop listening to music and just closed my computer. Next morning, no sound comes out of itunes. Even with earphones
(and I know it was a bad idea) but at full volume. Did I press a bad combo of keys that would mute itunes? (Youtube works) I can buy songs at the itunes store, and they'll look like they're playing, but no sound comes out.

...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.
When selecting a song to play from iTunes library, I continually get an error message indicating the original file could not be found. Then asks, would you like to locate it?I'm not even able to play the songs I purchased due to this error message.

I can still buy songs and it goes on my iPod... The I have is an iMac G5 (tiger) and yes, I updated iTunes and the rest of my updates.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't add nor play certain MP3's anymore, and these same MP3's are ones I used to listen to a few weeks ago in iTunes 9. Is this some major bug? Here's my post copy and pasted from Apple.
Just to note, previously on iTunes 8, I had no issues. Starting with iTunes 9, at first I noticed that 9 would delete random albums' cover art on its own, and I'd always have to restore it. Now more recently, a lot of my albums I use to play with no problem, are not working anymore. They've lost their cover art, and just won't play. I try to delete them and re-add them, and now they won't add. I know there's nothing wrong with the files themselves because I was just listening to these same files and syncing them to my iPhone a few weeks ago. When 9 was first release they all worked fine. And it really ***** when some of the albums are your more favorite ones to listen to. Is anyone else suffering from this? I've searched and searched and all of these solutions of maybe the tags being messed up is not the issue. So is this a major bug with iTunes 9.01? It's pretty frustrating. Thanks to anyone that can provide assistance.
I am trying to access my iTunes songs and movies from my new Samsung HD/3D tv. It connects to the internet via my wifi and so it should be feasible. Has anyone succeded in doing this? I am running 10.6.8.

I've recently copied some cassette tapes onto the computer (using Audio Hijack Pro) as mp3 files. *None* of those longer than a minute and nineteen seconds will play past that point in iTunes on Lion. They show up as their proper length (and are *not* set to cut short in options), but playing them, they just skip to the next song at 1:19 as if they'd finished, no error or anything. If I drag the slider to a point past there, the counters stop at that point and it starts the next song when I release it. The files play perfectly well if I press the spacebar in Finder, or if I open them with Quicktime Player, or if I use my iPod Touch, or if I use iTunes in Windows XP, but not on the Mac. Every last one of them... and no others. Older tracks play perfectly, regardless of source or format.
All software is the latest version available. (Within reasonable meanings of "latest" for XP, at least.)
I downloaded an audio book from itunes store and file was kept under book folder. I syncronize my ipad but it doesn't show up in my ibook or under any playlist. has anybody known where i can find the audio book in my ipad.

I can't RadioIo to play through iTunes. I click on it from the radio streaming list and all I get is a "Getting Playlist" pop-up that won't load. I have iTunes 10.6 (40) with OS 10.6.8.

I have a MacBook Air (Mid 2011), and the latest version of iTunes installed (10.6).In the last version of iTunes I had been unable to play HD content, which was a problem experienced by many people. I got round it by opening iTunes in 32bit mode, starting to play the HD file, and then going back into 64bit mode, and the content would work. When 10.6 stated that you could know play 1080 content, this excited me because I thought that my problem would be over! However, iTunes still won't play any of my HD content purchased from the iTunes Store! It just comes up with an error message saying that Quicktime is required to play this file and iTunes doesn't support Quicktime.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a TV show, but when I try to play it, it wont play. It asks me to Authorize my computer, but the thing is, it's already authorized. I tried to de-authorize it and re-authorize it, but it still doesn't work. And it's not just this one episode, I just noticed I cant watch anything I have purchased in the past.

I'll be going thru my list clicking a bunch of songs, say making a playlist for example, and often when I click on a song, it gets renamed (artist, song, album). 90% of the time, the song/album gets changed, but the artist stays the same. But sometimes it changes it to something new altogether. The kicker, though, is that the new song/artist/album is ALWAYS a duplicate of something I already have. This has happened without me clicking on songs as well. I just went to Show Duplicates and iTunes it appears iTunes has renamed about 200 of my songs. Often I don't even know what song I'm hearing, and if the lyrics aren't on google, I have to leave the song and artist as UNKNOWN. This problem has only started in the last few months.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed this about a year ago. So, there are some songs that I cannot play in iTunes, on either my laptop or home computer. However, I can play them on my iPhone 3GS and my 3rd Generation iPod after being sync'd. A friend thought that it was perhaps these songs/albums were not "official" Apple iTunes downloads or not direct downloads from CDs. This is not correct, random songs from random mp3 sources including iTunes (Apple iTunes Store), and even complete albums (from CDs) are affected. Why is this? how can I correct this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering how could i play music in itunes from my external hard drive without it being saves in my itunes music folder?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI try to play songs in iTunes (ver. 9.0.2) on my MacBook Pro (OS X.5.8) and some (note all) won't play and a box pops up and says:
"This computer is not authorized to play "(song title here)". Would you like to authorized it?"
I type in my password and then is says: "You cannot authorized more than 5 computers.
Makes sense, except to my knowledge, this is the only computer that I have authorized and the only computer I use.
I tried to repair the permissions and some iTunes things did come up but I've restarted iTunes and am still having the same problem.
Also, the songs that won't play are ones I purchased, but there are some songs that I bought that I can play.
I'm still learning new things with my MBP. I have some mp3s placed on the desktop and I know there's a play arrow in the middle and I can play them. Well I stumbled upon a way to play the song without iTunes opening, but it had what looked like a real music player with play, FF, RW. I'm guessing I used some finger gesture to get it to do that, anybody know how I can recreate it? I tried searching, but can't figure it out. As I said, still learning all the cool tricks with the Mac! Anyways, to clarify, it did NOT open iTunes, but had an mp3 player. Also, it was not quicktime player. It was bigger than just a tiny rectangle with RW, Play, and FF. No software was opened, but there was still a big rectangular box that opened.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently rented a movie for my son to watch, but have not been able to view it because iTunes is telling me that my computer is not authorized to view the movie. It gives me the option of authorizing the computer if I enter my iTunes Store password. I do and it gives me the same error message with the opportunity to again enter my password. If I click CANCEL it tells me what I already knew, and that is that the computer is already authorized. The rental purchase was made from this Mac and yet I'm not able to purchase it. Is there something that needs to be fixed in order to play this, or is this a bug in iTunes 10.5.3?

Quite often when burning CDs, The order that I have carefully set gets completely scrambled when playlist is burned. This is especially bad due when trying to burn books in my audiobook collection.Â
I have looked at a few Apple tech notes about this topic, but all seem to be of versions much older than that currently available.Â
Alphabetical orde is not the problem and one suggestion to use a Song command to set tracks in the play order, doesn't work since Song command.Â
With the latest versions of iTunes my music albums don't seem to play in order of track number anymore. Is there a way to set or establish play order?
