I have a CD stuck in my MacBook Pro. How can I get it out?

My Macbook is currently stuck booting up in windows 7. My shift key also appears to be stuck so holding the Option key when booting up to choose a start up disk isn't an option (it doesn't work). I do not currently have access to an external keyboard. I do have the startup disk. I'm wondering if I can use the startup disk to reset the systems startup disk? Are there other options?

So, earlier, I went to eject a DVD from my Macbook. It ejected fine, and then I inserted a CD. Now the Macbook won't recognize the disc. It sounds like it keeps on trying to read the disc. When I press eject, the Macbook makes the sound like it is ejecting it, but it never comes out, and after a moment, it makes the sound like it trying to read the disc again. What should I do, and how can I get the disc out?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook i got in July of '08 and in the past week it sometimes gets stuck on the blue screen before it goes to the login page. Not everytime though so it's not a big deal but I have to restart it by the button and that makes me uncomfortable and it's a bit annoying. I know I can prevent it from going to the login screen but I don't want to because I don't like leaving my laptop where someone can easily mess with it so I set a password. Any clues on why it is doing this and do I need to worry about it getting worse or something bad causing it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty sure it's the logic board. Boot it up and it whizzes away and stays with a screen of eternal blackness, no responsiveness from the keyboard or anything. I've also got a CD stuck in the drive I'm pretty keen on getting out, anyway of going about it?

for Christmas I got my moms old macbook. It was some things that were wrong with it but she took it to get fixed at apple for like 500$ so Im sure she doesn't have warranty. The other day I was typing a report and it kept typing in capitals when I didn't have the caps lock on...I figured out that it was something with the shift key. I took it off, and that still didnt work. I haven't spilled anything on it at all. I take very good care of it also. Now I can't en log in because my password has numbers which only turn into symbols.

I've had a CD stuck in my drive for a while now and really could do with getting it out!
It was playing up a few times, where CD's wouldn't come out, but usually, with a little perseverance, it would come out. Now, however, it's not happening!
I've tried most of the various ways people have posted - resetting PRAM, holding it at an angle, etc etc - but still had no luck.

It seems you can't upgrade the memory after purchase on the new MBP w/ retina display.
SO my question is, is it worth the $180 extra to get 16GB of ram rather than 8GB??
How do I get a dvd that is stuck out of my laptop? It isnt showing up on my desktop and just makes a weird noise when I try to eject it! I tried a bunch of things!

I paused the movie, shut down anything I had running and it was still static just not as loud. I turned off my Macbook, turned it on and nothing. It has been stuck on mute for a few days now.
Note: I've was not using headphones when this occurred. I had tried plugging in headphone and still no sound, I unplugged them, no sound.

i've tried every method mentioned but I can't still eject a stucked cd on my MBP mid 2010. The CD seems to be stucked halfway in, so its not readed by the drive, but it can't also be ejected.

Now when I open the finder, there is a document on the top of the gray bar at the top of the finder window. When I try to click on it to drag it away, it automatically opens the document. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedRuns well under bootcamp in my 1.8/SSD. I would even say it runs at 60fps But you need to download the beta X3100 drivers from intel that solve the crashing problem when you play the game with the normal drivers. And download the game from direct2drive or EA so you wont need the DVD Why does Mac OS suck so much ass when you play games? Under bootcamp I can run anything and the games wont run slow.

The thing is that I do not need Leopard OSX at all, I just want Windows XP (please spare me the "why buy MB if.." questions) But as far as I can see is windows Dependend on OSX and bootcamp being installed? after installing XP with bootcamp there is 4 partitions as show here [URL:...]
GPT partition 200mb
OSX partition 18.8GB
unallocated partiton 129mb .. what's this?
XP partition 129GB
what would happen if I deleted the 19GB OSX partition and the 129mb whatever it is partition? and just left the GPT and XP partition. Would the computer boot? or would that be a nono?
I have a late 2008 unibody MacBook. This happened before, and now is doing it again. When I click or even tap to click, my MacBook acts like I am holding the button down. If I click in sons text it just keeps highlighting as I move, if I click the bachround it wants to just keep making a box. The only wY u can get it to stop is to hold down power till it shuts off. Everything else works like normal, but the MacBook acts like I am holding the button down.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using Macbook Pro Unibody (late 2008). 2.4GHz, 2GB Ram. Mac OS X. So I'm in the library right now and tried to start my computer, and it is just stuck on the blue screen. It worked fine like an hour ago, I don't know what happened. So I hear the chime, and the white screen with apple logo. And then, blue screen and I see that little circle thing going around and around on and off, but nothing. I do hear the fan and hardware. I tried to do PRAM reset, but it doesn't work? I tried to look for other posts with similar symptoms, but couldn't find anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a problem with my laptop where the lcd on the monitor does not always work, presumed to be due to a loose inverter cable or something similar to this. As a temporary solution I have been using an external monitor for the past few days. Depending on whether the laptop lcd is working, I have had it on both mirrored and dual monitor settings. However, this evening when I have come to use it, the external monitor is now the only one that is working. Options to turn off mirror display have now gone. Also, the button on my mouse pad no longer works, yet the pad itself does.
I have come to the conclusion that my laptop is in 'clamshell' mode. It remains on, and does not sleep when I close the lid. I have put it to sleep form the apple menu, disconnected the external monitor, and the opened the lid again, and when it turns back on from sleep, the screen flashes on for a second, but then goes to sleep again. I have tried turning it off, restarting, taking the battery out, everything I can think of, but unless the external monitor is connected it almost immediately goes back to sleep.
I inserted the cd in my MacBook. But I'm not able to take it out. I have also windows installed in the system. I'm in mac os now. But I'm not able to take the cd.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy mother got a DL DVD-RW stuck in the drive of her MacBook. When I try to eject it, it makes a bunch of noises like it is going to eject but then doesn't, and then I hear it spin and try and load, then it repeats by trying to eject it again, etc. If I reboot the computer, it shows the disk on the desktop and I can open it fine. Problems don't start till I try and eject it.
I have tried holding down the trackpad button on boot up, I tried "drutil eject" in the terminal, I tried using disk utility but while the drive shows up, it doesn't say if anything is in the drive. She has the Black MacBook 4, 1 with a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo. 10.6.
i sent my 2008 macbook into the service centre to get fixed and i got it back today and turned it on. When i tried to get onto the windows side of my laptop it came up with ' no bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key'. So i later find out they have deleted my windows partition and just left the mac side. so im stuck on the side with no partiton i was wonder if there is a way to get back onto OSX because i cant call the store because they reopen on monday.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis morning I went to use my laptop, Screensaver passsword box came up and it wouldn't recognise my password at all, So i rebooted. Now my macbook doesn't get any further then the apple logo with the progress wheel then after a while it reboots. So far i've tried the following:
1.)Reset PRAM
2.)Ran Disk Util from install disk and repaired disk permissions
3.) Booted into Safe mode
None of the above have made any difference at all? I thought about "repairing" the install of os x but the version on my disc is older than the version on the laptop so it won't let me?
I recently got a MacBook from my school. Last night it was freezing quite a bit so I shut it down. This morning when I boot it up I get a screen saying 'you need to restart you computer. Hold down the power button until it turns off, then press the power button again'. Each time I do this though I get the same screen. I think the start up disk for the computer is at my school. is there anyway I can get it working just for today? I have also tried holding down F8 as I start it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedOn my black macbook, the click function seems to be stuck. The button itself is not physically stuck, it still clicks down and comes back up. But the computer is acting like the click button is always held down, so whenever I try and move the mouse it just tries to drag. So I cant get to system preferences or anything like that. It does this with the battery removed also, so its not a swollen battery. I blew the trackpad and button out with compressed air and still no luck.
