Windows On Mac :: Finding 8,1 Drivers - How To Install Drivers
Sep 17, 2010
I've installed a legit copy of Windows XP, SP2. Nothing works, not my webcam, not my internet, not even the full resolution. The first time around that I did this, I had the DVD that came with my iMac, I installed the Windows drivers stuff off of it, and everything worked perfectly.
Can anyone point me in the direction of either a replacement for that DVD (.iso image or something?) or simply the required drivers that will let my iMac 8,1 connect to the web?

So i am trying to change my apple boot camp drivers to nvidia's, but i think i must have downloaded the wrong ones, or done something wrong. I tried to install Geforce/Ion driver release 192.62, (from nvidia's site, i selected gefore 8 series) and when i ran the setup it said: 'nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your hardware' . My questions are:
Which drivers should i download? a link would be great.
Are there any pre-requisites i must do, such as install version 170 first?
I am using an iMac 24" with 4gb ram, 500gb 5400 rpm HDD, and 8800 GS 512mb.
The reason I am trying this, is because when i play some online games, i often get bad lag spikes, but that chat is still running. Someone recommended me to 'update my drivers'.

I have a Macbook plastic, 2.4 GHz intel core 2 Duo with 2 GB of ram.My Mac is currently running on OS X, i used to have a 40 gig partition Windows XP, a couple of friends of mine where talking about how much they liked Windows 7 and finally i had had enough blue screens to say, sure ill switch, why not?... assuming it would not take longer then lets say a day at most, i set off on my quest.
FWI, im running an older model Macbook that was bought refurbished (not sure if that has anything to do with my problem). anyway i removed my previous partition, then using Boot Camp Assistant i repartitioned a 40 gig section for Windows 7. Then ran the installer. I have a copy of Windows 7 ultimate 86x. The Windows boot screen turned up, i had to reformat the partition so that i could install, no problems there. after all said and done the installation worked perfectly, up to a point... First problem that appeared was the lack of sound. i fixed that by downloading Realtek's High Def sound drivers.
Then it was the rest of the drivers for the macbook. heres where i run into my problem, i have the Mac OSX install discs 1 and 2. inserting the first disc the option of the auto run of the setup popped up i clicked run. and instead of the same old install drivers option all i have is the option to install the software that lets macbook airs share cd/dvd drives... needless to say i got frustrated and to put it lightly pissed off...
unsure of wtf was going on i looked it up online and really couldnt find anyone with the same problem, i found a web page saying that i should have the windows auto update itself and that should fix the problem. it did not. i dont know what the hell is going on. and im about this close to reinstalling windows xp and telling windows 7 to go **** itself...

I installed Windows 7 on a Mac Pro 09 and now Im not sure if I really need the Boot Camp 3 drivers or not. Its just installed for games and 3D Software. I dont have an USB iSight, obviously, and dont need the media function keys of the keyboard nor I use the Mighty Mouse. Also I dont need iDisk access HFS+ access or Bonjour and what so ever. I mostly run OSX anyway.
So, would it work if I just install the Chipset drivers, Audio, Ethernet and graphics card drivers if I find them?
Or do the Boot Camp drivers have special stuff which I absolutely need?

I recently installed the 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate operating system onto my MacBook Pro 13 inch. I have the most basic Macbook Pro 13 inch with nothing fancy added. Whenever I load up the Windows 7 OS on my Macbook, it never utilizes or even realizes that I have the NVIDIA graphics card in my laptop. It instead believes I have some integrated graphics card that cannot even run the most basic of PC games. I know my laptop can run these games because on OSX it runs multiple games with higher requirements than these games I am trying to run on Windows.
Basic question: How do I get bootcamp or whatever else to make Windows 7 realize I have a NVIDIA card and drivers. Sorry if I am coming off as stupid or confusing.

Just installed Windows 7 64bit on my bootcamp partition and at first glance everything looks great.
I haven't used any of the boot camp drivers yet, though I did install ATI's latest Win7 drivers for the 4870.

I recently purchased a 13 inch macbook pro and dual-booted windows 7 on boot camp.
The graphics driver on this computer is out of date. You should update the graphics driver on this computer before running Halo 2 for Windows Vista. You may experience problems running Halo 2 for Windows Vista if you choose to continue without updating.

I find the new trackpad drivers to be pretty horrible. It's so sensitive that it picks up all the minor movements.
It gets really frustrating because whenever I use my thumb to press down the trackpad, the trackpad picks up all those mini movements causing the cursor to shift a little everytime I press down the trackpad. This makes double clicking pretty hard.

I just installed Windows 7 and have got as far as installing the graphics card drivers from ati's website (since the ones that windows update installs are almost always out of date). Now the card is being recognised as a Radeon HD 5750 but I know from other discussions best guess is It's actually a Mobility card inside the iMac.

I got my Aluminum MacBook 2.4 a few days ago and I have since then installed Windows XP SP3, I recall reading about being able to install new Nvidia graphics drivers to get even better performance. I tried to search it, but I couldnt find the process on how to install them.

I tried to install Vista business edition 32-bit (without SP1) on my Unibody Macbook Pro (late 2008 model). After that, I installed
1) Bootcamp 2.0 from a retail Leopard DVD and its upgraded version (2.1)
2) nForce 730i driver (from NVIDIA web site)
3) Geforce 9000M series graphics card driver (from NVIDIA web site)
Currently there are still several driver issues:
1) "Network Controller" driver is not working.
2) "Apple iSight" driver is not working.
3) No wireless device shown up in my device manager.
4) No sound.
I don't have my original MacOSX DVD with me. Does anybody know how to fix those problems?

I searched for a while trying to find the answer but did not find it. I just installed Vista Business via Bootcamp. I am not able to access the internet or anything. If I read the help stuff right I need to use the OSX install disk to install the drivers. The problem is, I don't have the install disk. Is there any other way to get the drivers? Or am I just missing something easier?

1. New 11" macbook air. Set up partition for Windows XP SP2 using bootcamp. Prior to the Windows install I made the bootcamp driver install DVD per the instructions.
2. Windows installed fine. In Windows, went to install the bootcamp drivers from DVD I made and get this message: "bootcamp requires that your computer is running windows 7" And then I can't install the drivers.
Is there a limitation to running Windows 7 only?

I get the error "Another instance of this setup is already running. Please wait for the other instance to finish and then try again." when installing the Sigmatel drivers from the Boot Camp Driver installer.
I've reformatted, reinstalled Windows XP, and tried to install the Boot Camp drivers again but I still get the error.
I tried opening "SigmaTelXPSetup.exe" directly from the "Drivers" folder of the Leopard DVD, but I got the error again
How can I install these drivers to get sound?

Today is the day I get my new 09 Quad - very exciting! I have a copy of Vista Business 64bit, which I want to run because of the extra ram I'll have in that beast of a thing. Up until now I've just been using the other comps in my sig, and from what I've heard it's hard to get 64bit windows working in Boot Camp. But are there 64 bit drivers on the Leopard install disc to make this a bit more pain free?

I've successfully installed windows professional 32bit onto my mac computer with bootcamp. When I insert my OS10.5 Leopard cd's into the computer windows will not detect the CD's. These are original CD's after trying to get it to work for a few mins I came up with an idea. I downloaded the 2.1 mac drivers from apple @ [URL]. I then burned the drivers onto a cd and then rebooted into windows. After copying the drivers from the cd to my harddrive, I tried to install the drivers that I had downloaded but nothing happens. I can see in the taskmanager that the BCUpdateXP.exe runs for a few seconds then does nothing. The mac is an iMac 8.1, intel core 2 duo, 2.66ghz, 2gb ram. The leopard cd's work when running the mac under Mac OSx 10.5.8 which would mean the cd's should be fine.

I've tried looking all over and am totally confused with what works with what and how to do it. I am looking at installing windows 7 x64 on either the lower spec 13inch macbook pro, or the lower spec 21.5inch imac. Installing windows 7 itself is so easy, but how do i get the drivers installed and which work? I know I should use the bootcamp drivers for vista off of the OS X disk but is it as simple as inserting the disk, navigating to the folder and running whatever? And does everything work for both the systems I mentioned? Including sound etc., and if not, how do I get it to work.

I'm in dire need of knowledgable assistance here! I've just purchased a beautiful unibody MBP and loving it. Last night I created an 80gb windows xp32 with sp2 partition using boot camp assistant and everything went perfect. Load up xp and installed the apple "install disc" and all drivers were installed.
My intention is to play games on this partition, so I obviously wanted to install the best video drivers. I haven't updated to sp3 yet, but I downloaded the latest nvidia notebook drivers off their website and specifically d/l'd version 179.48 beta, it's an autoexe file. anyways, upon installation it exits, saying it cannot find the hardware to support the drivers.. ! i then tried installing a few laptopvideo2go drives using their method with the modded inf file and was successful installing these files, but xp soon after reverts to the crappy old vga drivers with an error msg.
