View 1 RepliesI've successfully installed windows professional 32bit onto my mac computer with bootcamp. When I insert my OS10.5 Leopard cd's into the computer windows will not detect the CD's. These are original CD's after trying to get it to work for a few mins I came up with an idea. I downloaded the 2.1 mac drivers from apple @ [URL]. I then burned the drivers onto a cd and then rebooted into windows. After copying the drivers from the cd to my harddrive, I tried to install the drivers that I had downloaded but nothing happens. I can see in the taskmanager that the BCUpdateXP.exe runs for a few seconds then does nothing. The mac is an iMac 8.1, intel core 2 duo, 2.66ghz, 2gb ram. The leopard cd's work when running the mac under Mac OSx 10.5.8 which would mean the cd's should be fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI gather there've been more than a few headaches getting working video drivers for the ATI 4850 in the iMac (windows side). A few posts have said that version 8.661 of the AMD driver (Catalyst 9.10) works, but other versions including newer ones, don't.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI managed to successfully install windows 7 32 bit on the imac with all drivers. I thought I should post this as I couldn't find any information on how to install the audio drivers, and how to get the magic mouse scrolling functions to work.
Here is how I got everything installed.
For all files you use before installing them you must right click on them then properties then compatibility,
check the run this program in compatibility mode for windows vista service pack 2
For video nvidia
install bootcamp/drivers/nvidia/nvidiagraphicsmobilevista32/setup.exe
For audio
install bootcamp/drivers/cirrus/cirrusaudiovista32.exe
For chipset drivers
install bootcamp/drivers/nvidia/nvidiachipsetvista32/setup.exe
Install all the software/drivers that is in bootcamp/drivers/apple BUT if you are using windows 7
NOT THE FOLLOWING BOOTCAMP.msi because your oamputer will freeze
For the bluetooth download and install the drivers from [URL]
I've installed a legit copy of Windows XP, SP2. Nothing works, not my webcam, not my internet, not even the full resolution. The first time around that I did this, I had the DVD that came with my iMac, I installed the Windows drivers stuff off of it, and everything worked perfectly.
Can anyone point me in the direction of either a replacement for that DVD (.iso image or something?) or simply the required drivers that will let my iMac 8,1 connect to the web?
Today I got my new 21.5 base model iMac, along with windows 7 Ultimate. I was wondering if I should install the 32 bit version or the 64.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Late 2008 Macbook pro unibody, 4gb, 320gb 7200rpm. I installed the bootcamp drivers off the leopard CD that came with the mac and all was good! I have since taken it to Australia for a holiday and need to reinstall bootcamp but left the Leopard CD back in the UK. Stupidly, the 2.1 bootcamp drivers on Apples site don't support the Unibody mac! Can anyone please direct me to where I can download the Drivers (for 32bit XP home SP2) for the Unibody Macbook pro? The exact ones that are on the Leopard CD that came with the new Macbook Pro?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Windows vista using going through parallels because my bootcamp failed a while ago. This partition also acts as my bootcamp. Well The internet on parallels works fine because it is using osx network, but when i boot into bootcamp the network drivers seem to be missing. I cant figure it out, but it says the ethernet and network drivers are not there. I cant find the drivers on the internet anywhere and when i use the vista disk i have it still does not want to install them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust installed Windows 7 64bit on my bootcamp partition and at first glance everything looks great.
I haven't used any of the boot camp drivers yet, though I did install ATI's latest Win7 drivers for the 4870.
I recently purchased a 13 inch macbook pro and dual-booted windows 7 on boot camp.
The graphics driver on this computer is out of date. You should update the graphics driver on this computer before running Halo 2 for Windows Vista. You may experience problems running Halo 2 for Windows Vista if you choose to continue without updating.
I find the new trackpad drivers to be pretty horrible. It's so sensitive that it picks up all the minor movements.
It gets really frustrating because whenever I use my thumb to press down the trackpad, the trackpad picks up all those mini movements causing the cursor to shift a little everytime I press down the trackpad. This makes double clicking pretty hard.
I just installed Windows 7 and have got as far as installing the graphics card drivers from ati's website (since the ones that windows update installs are almost always out of date). Now the card is being recognised as a Radeon HD 5750 but I know from other discussions best guess is It's actually a Mobility card inside the iMac.

Where do I get the native bootcamp drivers to ensure my mac works properly in Windows mode? Are they on the Snow Leopard disk ? I recall in the past in the past that bootcamp used to make the drivers for you and burn them onto a CD but wasn't able to get past the partition stage, so don't know what the process is?
The graphics driver is the most important, I'm using one of the intel core duo original imacs, so I think its ATI.
Also any ideas where I can obtain a osx tool for managing partitions, I was showing about 5 partitions on the windows install, so would like to clean things up a little?
I got my Aluminum MacBook 2.4 a few days ago and I have since then installed Windows XP SP3, I recall reading about being able to install new Nvidia graphics drivers to get even better performance. I tried to search it, but I couldnt find the process on how to install them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to install Vista business edition 32-bit (without SP1) on my Unibody Macbook Pro (late 2008 model). After that, I installed
1) Bootcamp 2.0 from a retail Leopard DVD and its upgraded version (2.1)
2) nForce 730i driver (from NVIDIA web site)
3) Geforce 9000M series graphics card driver (from NVIDIA web site)
Currently there are still several driver issues:
1) "Network Controller" driver is not working.
2) "Apple iSight" driver is not working.
3) No wireless device shown up in my device manager.
4) No sound.
I don't have my original MacOSX DVD with me. Does anybody know how to fix those problems?
So i installed windows 7 through bootcamp on my unibody 13"macbook. I managed to install windows 7 but when i run bootcamp 3.1 it says that i have to have bootcamp 3.0 first. SO i got 3.0 but when i try to run it it say its not compatible with 64 bit. What should i do?
I managed to install the video drivers from nvidia websites. I also installed all the drivers in the x64 Drivers directory of boot camp
The drivers that came with 3.1 are 188.61, the newest available on nVidia's site are 195.62. Is it safe for me to un-install the drivers that came with bootcamp and install the newest nVidia ones?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 on a Mac Pro 09 and now Im not sure if I really need the Boot Camp 3 drivers or not. Its just installed for games and 3D Software. I dont have an USB iSight, obviously, and dont need the media function keys of the keyboard nor I use the Mighty Mouse. Also I dont need iDisk access HFS+ access or Bonjour and what so ever. I mostly run OSX anyway.
So, would it work if I just install the Chipset drivers, Audio, Ethernet and graphics card drivers if I find them?
Or do the Boot Camp drivers have special stuff which I absolutely need?
i want to use my magic mouse on my PC at work. It runs XP.
I have seen the drivers online at the uneasy silence website, but the link doesn't work anymore.
does anyone know of another location for the "hacked" drivers for windows? or even better, have a copy they can send me?
I'm trying to update my video card drivers on my 13" MBP. It seems as if I am getting a nv4_disp.dll error on the XP partition of my hard drive when I try to exit BF2. Could anyone suggest good graphics drivers to download? I tried Omega drivers but they said that my graphics card could not be recognized.

2x EDIT: I'm getting this error whether the NVidia drivers are installed or not. Similar error with the Omega drivers. What shall I do? This screen has the Boot Camp NVidia drivers installed, I've tried it with them uninstalled as well. Sorry for repeating myself but I want to get that point across. These are the drivers from the Apple link.
I'm in dire need of knowledgable assistance here! I've just purchased a beautiful unibody MBP and loving it. Last night I created an 80gb windows xp32 with sp2 partition using boot camp assistant and everything went perfect. Load up xp and installed the apple "install disc" and all drivers were installed.
My intention is to play games on this partition, so I obviously wanted to install the best video drivers. I haven't updated to sp3 yet, but I downloaded the latest nvidia notebook drivers off their website and specifically d/l'd version 179.48 beta, it's an autoexe file. anyways, upon installation it exits, saying it cannot find the hardware to support the drivers.. ! i then tried installing a few laptopvideo2go drives using their method with the modded inf file and was successful installing these files, but xp soon after reverts to the crappy old vga drivers with an error msg.
I have recently bought a macbook, and i have used boot camp with windwos xp and 7, and drivers worked perfectly, but i need this drivers for linux, like key functions, camera, key ilumination, etc. So i was wondering if its possible before i install linux in my mac.

It has updated 'forceware' and installs without problems. I noticed better performance in games than i was getting with the stock apple drivers. These are for the new late 2008 aluminum Macbooks with the geforce 9400m chipset.
So, with Snow Leopard, there is a 32-bit kernel, and a 64-bit kernel. Correct?
As I understand it, it will boot into the 32-bit kernel by default, but if your hardware is supported, you can select the 64-bit kernel.
My question is - where is the list of supported hardware, and how do you select the 64-bit kernel?
My confusion comes from several posts and various articles which all say the first-gen aluminium iMac has a 32-bit EFI, and therefore can only boot into the 32-bit kernel. But I've just downloaded an app called Startup Mode Selector, which shows you your system config, and it says I have a 64-bit EFI.
Which drivers do I need to use to update the drivers on my Imac 27".
View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyone know where I can get drivers for Win XP SP3 for the new 27" iMac.
I install XP with SP3 and after I install the SL disk nothing gets recognized ethernet chipset display sound nothing works after the restart.
Even if someone could point me to the ethernet driver that would be a start since I could just run Windows Update and maybe that would find the rest of the crap.
i have installed Catalyst Driver 09.12 woth the tool from [URL] and after i found out the screen looks terrible wrong if i uninstall the Ati driver the screeen looks ok. but the drivers crash and the yellow dots coming on the screen.
and the only solution i found is go lower the the native reseloution.any having the same issues
I'd appreciate it if anyone could offer me some advice on whether to go with the 32bit or 64bit version of Vista on a 4-core 'Nehalem' Mac Pro. I've read that some drivers will fail to work under this version of the operating system - is this the case for the hardware in the Mac Pro (particularly the HD 4870)?
