Sep 16, 2010
I would like to uninstall Windows 7 on my Mac and put it on my PC. How do I get rid of Windows 7? Also, do I need to de-activate (if thats possible) Windows 7 on my Mac prior to getting rid of it? I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to computers so if you folks can give me step by step directions,

I'm trying to uninstall synergy but it's being quite annoying. I've removed it from the applications menu, deleted all the files, yet cannot for the life of me 1) delete it from my trash and 2) keep itunes from popping up artist names/song title when I'm surfing the web, etc.

I got a copy of Win7 from school and started installing it on my wife's computer (I have my own Win7 copy). I need to uninstall it...don't ask. I just need to know how to get a partially installed copy of Windows uninstalled. Each time I put the disc in and launch Parallels it wants to continue the install, which I can't do (faulty product key). Anyone know how to uninstall at this point?

I currently have accidentally deleted the entire Mac HD file and replaced it with the system file for Windows OS (entirely accidental). Point being is, to re-install Mac OS X, my computer is telling me I cannot do so while I have Windows installed as there is no available space for it. So...I am trying to delete Windows, without the ability to use Mac OS X, and so far, nothing has worked (I have tried Add/Remove Program -> Change/Remove Programs, but it thinks, for some odd reason, that there are never any programs on it, including the OS itself, which Windows help support says should be there...)

I had Parallels installed, but I ended up back with Bootcamp. After I uninstalled it I noticed under iStat Pro Widget there were two parallels network connections. I went to the System Prefs - Networks and deleted them, but every single time I restart my computer they pop back up! I tried locking the settings after I deleted and applied them but I can't figure it out! Please someone help me! I do NOT want to have to format my whole HDD!

I attempted to install Windows 7 using bootcamp assistant with a 5GB partition. I got halfway through the Windows 7 install when I got an error message, saying that Windows needs 8284 megabytes to install. I want to delete the current partition and create a larger partition to complete the install.
However, when I run bootcamp, I get "The startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition. The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows."
I tried deleting the partition using disk utility, didn't work either.
How can I fix this?

I installed boot camp and then put xp on a 10gb partition. I was having major problems with OSX so I reinstalled. now When I try to upgrade to the new version of bootcamp I get an error message downloading. I think it said not verified. I wanted to know how to delete the windows space so I can just have the apple OS. I went to disk utility but It would not let me delete the windows partition. The reason I wanted the new version of bootcamp because I was having track pad problems in xp.

I mistakenly wiped my windows partition thinking it would delete it so i could gain 5gb back to my OSX drive.
I should have used Boot camp assistant and i cant use time machine as the last time it was syncd was in November and i would then lose some important Music projects.
I have a new SSD Hybrid momentus HD in the post, but i dont want time machine to put the windows partition onto the new drive.
What options do i have, so i dont have to reinstall all my Apps and Documents etc.

So, while cleaning up my macbook pro from old files, I mistakenly get into the NO NAME partition that appears in the OS X partition, but which holds some kind of Windows XP directories. I don't know how I managed to do so, but I somehow deleted a folder under NO NAME/Documents and Settings/[user name] and all the files in that directory.
Not much harm was done, since it seems as though the folder was merely duplicated into the trash and still remains in its original directory in NO NAME. The problem is that every time I try to delete it from the trash it says I don't have permissions. It's only folders and they're all unlocked and I am logged on as admin. I've tried dragging the folder out of the trash but it merely duplicates it (although I have no issues deleting the duplicate). So I have folders that have no use being in or outside the trash, which are proving to be very difficult to delete. I tried verifying my disk fwith Disk Utility, but it resulted ok.

I used Boot Camp to setup a partition for installing Windows. I no longer need the partition nor Windows. How can I delete that partition and make it useful for my laptop?
I'd like to have it as just one big hard drive rather than it showing up as 2 separate hard drives. I believe it's called extend the hard drive if I'm correct.

So I have an external HDD formatted in NTFS that I used for all my DVD backups items connected to my Mac (running Mac OS X 10.5.8). In any event, I was re-installing windows on my Laptop (which is a PC) and put the old copy of windows on the external drive. Well, I don't need it anymore and was trying to delete it but it won't delete. I have tried everything short of initializing the drive which I want to avoid so I dont lose all my DVD backups. It's in the trash but it just won't empty.

I have a Macbook pro and I'm running windows 7 as the operating system. I just started using Autocad 2010 on this computer, and for some reason, the "delete" key doesn't delete anything when I press it. I tried to set "pickfirst" to 1 (checking the box of "noun/ verb"), but it doesn't help. Setting them both to <0> and <1> don't make a difference, both options don't "delete" the selected object.

I'm retrying to install windows on my mac. It's the second time I'm trying, but it has somehow become way harder. The first time I installed Windows, everything worked perfectly, untill I noticed that SP2 wasn't installed, and I couldn't install it on my windows, somehow.
Now I'm trying it with a different version of XP (Pro), but Bootcamp is giving issues. I haven't deleted the old volume/partition (don't know the difference) of windows yet, as it is installed on my startup disk and Disk Utility won't delete it .
