If so, how so?

This is the first time I've tried using my built-in iSight since the 10.6.5 update, and on any site I've tried it, it doesn't show USB Video Class Video, the correct option, as a selectable option. Nor is DV Video and option. Only Built-In iSight, and two "Google" cams, none of which work. Actually, on Tinychat, Built-In iSight works for the thumbnail for picking the cam option, but won't work once selected. But that's always been the case; the proper option won't show as a thumb but works fine once selected. I hope I'm making sense.
Any solutions? Adobe says I'm running version 10,1,102,64.
Update: It seem either uninstalling Google's video and audio adapters </Library/Application Support/Google/GoogleVoiceandVideoUninstaller.app> or installing a beta version of Flash [URL] solves the issue.
I am trying to disable my Isight on a couple of computers used at our library. Under MacHints I found out that, when a program from OS X (Tiger at least) needs to access the integrated iSight camera, it has to call the QuickTimeUSBVDCDIgitizer.component. This file is located in the /System Library QuickTime folder.
How can I find this folder? When I search for it does not come up.
Or did anybody else figure out a way to disable this.
Oh, yeah, taping over it is a good suggestion but clever people just removed.
He has a stock white 2.2GHz MacBook, the 2.2GHz SR, with 1GB RAM. Now, recently, he noticed that the green indicator light next to his iSight camera, is always on, even if he just started up his 'Book. If he tries to open Photo Booth, all he gets is not a picture on the Photo Booth window, but in fact, just plain black inside the window, with no error message. Does anyone know what is going on?

I would love to be able to set up my Apple to view what in the world my bird, a large Macaw, is doing throughout the day to get nuts and seed some 10 feet or so from her cage. She is a great bird and doesnt scream or bite, but she is a trip and loves to joke around.
i keep reading stories as i've been googling about how people catch thieves etc from remote viewing isight camera etc. but how do you do it? i should also mention i am a mobileme subscriber which hypothetically should make it easier.

Does anyone have / know where I can download a driver for isight for Mac OS X v.10.5.2 Every time I try and use it, it tells me that its in use by another program. I tried shutting down everything and it still does not seem to want to work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to use my iSights webcam function through 3 or 4 different programs on which it used to work, but now doesn't, I think it's because I deleted some programs on my mac (Photobooth for one) but am not sure... Any body knows why?
And if it's the photobooth reason that I think it is, then how do I get those programs back on my mac?
Have a 17" G5 iMac iSight (OS 10.5.8) that works normally for several hours and then the CPU temperature suddenly spikes and the computer shuts itself down. When I check the Temperature Monitor (application) history graph, it shows normal temperatures and then a spike. There are 3 fans and I don't know which is failing or whether there's something in the temperature sensing that's gone haywire. My only solution is to do a forced restart. By this time, things have cooled and it will work for several hours.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my 13" MacBook Pro for 10 months and I'd always tried to use the iSight with Skype here in Australia but it never worked. I just put it down to bad integration as I'd read on forums that it's a common issue. I finally took the MBP into Doncaster (Melbourne, Australia) Apple Store after I'd tried everything else and they gladly replaced the whole screen within the hour. I just wanted to say that I'm suitably impressed with the service they offered. The genius ran tests and tried to get it working and accommodated my request for a quick turnaround. Is this a common issue with the iSight and is this a common turnaround time for a repair?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I noticed that Steve kept saying that the new MacBook Air shipped with the FaceTime camera. I was wondering about this all day long, so I have to ask now.
On the Notebook comparison page of Apple.com, it even notes that they are 2 different features. What on earth is the difference?
Does the new FaceTime program only work on the Air? Is it a better quality camera? Maybe it's just that they wanted to drop the iSight name, and bring FaceTime to the computer audience?
Now that we have this new "FaceTime Camera," I'm curious to know how the resolution compares to the previous iSight camera. Is it still .3 megapixels or do we finally have a 1.3 megapixel camera like all the other Macs?? Can someone open PhotoBooth, take a picture of and do a "Get info" please?
View 12 Replies View RelatedApple calls the camera built into the MBA a "FaceTime" camera instead of an iSight camera. What exactly does this mean?
From my understanding, the available APIs from Apple only allow the iSight and FaceTime cameras to record at the same resolution (VGA 640x480). However, the iSight camera is capable of 1280x1020...does this mean the FaceTime camera isn't?
it's the subject of my next YouTube video and demo.
As of yesterday, I'm having problems with Facebook and Chatroulette not recognizing the built-in iSight on my iMac. The camera is recognized on Skype, Quicktime, Photobooth, iChat, etc.
Has anyone had the same problems and what did you do to fix it?
Does it work under Bootcamp?
Also, if so, does the green light come on when active, like on the Mac?
For the MBP in my sig.
I have had my macbook pro 10.6.5 for over 2 years and have never had this problem. But this morning I tried to use my webcam with flash player online and it wouldn't work. I have spent about 2 hours reinstalling browsers, flash player and repairing permissions in disk utility but still no video.
The iSight does work in Photobooth and iMovie but for some reason when I select it in the Adobe Flash Player Settings nothing happens. The green light doesn't even go on.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can try next?
I am studying abroad in France this semester so do not have my OS installation disks with me. I do have a time machine backup though
